I guess that is one way of applying a wash but certainly not one that I would recommend . I use Vallejo washes for pin and detailed work on certain AFV's it has the desired effect to recreate realism . The washes are also great for use on dioramas particulary the dark washes and very little clean up afterwards. The only trouble with using a sponge it creates blotching and fails to give the required effect. I mean this as constructive feedback as even the most advanced modellers are learning something new. Enjoyable video .

I use a strip of sponge to paint highlights etc, and yep ancient romans actually invented a sponge on a stick for their toilet,,,,history and models I'm in heaven.
