I wish you could start cold and dark at an airport, program your own flight plan, AND still fly IFR. I don't ever remember ATC giving the option to request IFR, could be wrong. I usually enter the departure and arrival airports, select low IFR for my GA flight, then apply my desired flight plan in the aircraft.

You can set the departure airport only at the desired gate and start the flight, I think it's what you're looking for.

@@asthalis I got a bit wordy. I want to create an IFR flight on the world map WITHOUT setting the destination airport. I'll set the destination in the aircraft. Thx anyway.
