  • Learn How To Make Punjabi Aloo Paratha Recipe, a Quick & Easy Punjabi Style Indian Flat Bread Recipe from Chef Neelam Bajwa only on Get Curried.
    Ingredients:-
    2 Boiled and Peeled Potatoes
    1-2 day old dough made with chapati flour
    1 onion chopped
    Salt to taste
    1 tsp. Cumin seeds
    1 tsp. Coriander seeds
    1 tsp. Nigella seeds/ Onion seeds (Kalonji)
    Green chillies according to personal spice level
    1 tsp. Chilli Powder
    1 tsp. Garam Masala
    Butter
    Method:-
    - In a bowl, mix potatoes, onion, green chillies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, onion seeds, red chilli powder, garam masala, salt, ginger, and coriander leaves with your hands.
    - Dust some wheat flour on the board and roll round flat chapatis.
    - Add butter on top and stuff the chapati with the potato stuffing we made and flatten again with a rolling pin.
    - Roast the flattened parathas on the pan applying generous amounts of butter on both sides.
    Serve piping hot with pickle or chutney! HAPPY COOKING!!!

    Hey chef. Can you post in the description and message me on the recipe for the dough. I want to make this but want to know the approximate measurements of chapati flour to water.     I am South Indian. I used to buy Aloo Parantha from a Pakiskani Restaurant. They served a Choley (chana) gravy which was fattened with mutton bones. The curry was so delicious, sadha Parantha would do.

    Hiii...one doubt...😅...for aloo parata preparation,you said the dough should be kneaded one day b4...so the dough should be refrigerated or kept at room temp?

      safiya anuroop should be kept in the fridge and brought to room temperature before using.

      Shafeek ifive if eating in moderation & occasionally it is actually good for health. But she does use quite a lot. I just wonder how she maintains herself

      Shafeek ifive everything in moderation!! You can use as much or as little butter as you like, there are no hard and fast rules! I love butter so I use lots! 😋

      Try adding some milk to the dough while you knead and Knead for a bit longer than usual . Hope this helps :)

      rohit anand put in more alu stuff. doesn't matter it comes ouut or not. alu stuffing brings out moisture helping the parantas to stay soft

      ritesh puri if you make sure the atta is at least a day old, max 2 days, your parantas will roll beautifully!

    this woman's channel should be called "How to cook for your enemies". all that butter in an age when people are trying to eat healthy! as soon as my family saw the butter she used they said she's hoping more Indians will have high cholesterol, heart disease, etc. A good cook can make tasty food without adding 400 more calories to the dish. Varun is still everyone's favorite.

      Cathy L. Everything in moderation.. I don't eat parantas every day and I lead a healthy lifestyle incorporating exercise and yoga on a daily basis.. and feel free to leave out the butter and use a fat of your choice.. and thank you for your comments 😊

    Awful parathas. Everything is sticking out of the dough. The cooked chapati flour parathas look very dry, therefor you have to load them up with butter. Ughh

I love all your recipes more importantly love the way you cook things.. but this one you are not proficient in... you messed it up... please come to Punjab and see how real aloo paranthas are.. even I mess up aloo paranthas... but real aloo paranthas are completely different :)... too much stress in the air.. thank you for all the recipes....

    Suppose... you are really excited that your mom is making aaloo paratha. U run to the dining table, tear a piece and put in inside your mouth. And then u get chunks of boiled potato, along with jeera, and all other spices...how would it feel..worst paratha recipe i have ever seen. Sorry to say... i really like your recipes but this is worst

      Confused because it gets rolled out pretty thin. The idea is to not incorporate everything until that point. I would recommend you stick to letting your mother continue cooking for you Mr. Ojah.
