Hi. Thanks for the review. I had a chance to drive Tiago AMT petrol in city and i felt that the gearshift from gear1 to gear2 is very late (even when i am light footed), leading to high rev (2500 - 3000 rpm) before gearshift. Do you feel the same in your car?
Yes.... Especially on an incline. Even on straight streches, it holds the first gear a bit too long but not as much as on inclines. That's what I felt....
@motravelerakshay Thanks for sharing the experience. But, what i notice is a consistent gearshift from 1st to 2nd at 2500rpm. I have seen that it will be much early in other brand AMT. Can you please share if you observe the same?
On road price depends on the state in which you are buying the car. NVH lesser compared to the earlier version of the same vehicle. If you compare it with Marutis and Hyundais, it is more but tolerable for me. Not irritating from my perspective
TRUE experience. Not having Hill hold is an issue. My friend also hit a electric post while reversing. Sudden surge in reverse. May be no need to give acceleration allow creep to do the job while reversing.
Definitely yes.... This would be a "Peace of mind" choice. I am ready to take up with Tata if need be and hence, I took my personal decision of going with Tiago. i10 is definitely a better choice.....
Also consider changing the spark plugs to NGK Irridium which will improve performance and mileage of TATA cars. I just did that in my Nexon petrol manual and I see reduced vibrations and minor performance improvement. I'm yet to test it on highway. But, try changing; TATA uses Bosch spark plugs which are just ok and inferior when compared to NGK Irridium spark plugs.
Tiago best 4 mileage ..it runs below 1600 rpm with 70 max speed gives 16 kmpl in Mumbai..For reverse in my daughter's Nios i10 AMT car - she uses manual option ..easy & perfect...even in AMT - you hv to be a light footer for reverse..100% perfect. Zero noise & jerk i10 AMT ..smoothest..but mileage is max 12- 13 kmpl in city
I'm at the juncture to choose between either Spresso VXI plus or Tiago XT automatic for my spouse.. While maruti's reliability , service and resale makes me almost decide for Spresso but features, build and Safety in the same price point is good in Tata .. How about service and spares in Tata ? Hearing a lot of negative reviews on the service and also any issues faced while taking the car delivery (i.e PDI issues).. please let know your thoughts ..
Just got the first 1000 kms service done. But as you might already know, nothing much is done in this service and hence, everything went smooth. But the negative reviews regarding the Tata service experience are true to a great extent. Some might exaggerate a bit due to the anger in them but they would have definitely faced the situation. It is improving and it will improve further is what I'm hoping but never expect it to be at par with the Marutis and Hyundais.... We were allowed to do a PDI as soon as the vehicle was available. They instantly agreed for the PDI as soon as I asked for it. The delivery experience was very good. The vehicle had a minor scratch on a plastic part near the ORVM which I pointed out during the PDI and it was replaced before delivery. No problems here. BUT, there will be minor scratches and/or dinks in the paint job and that is normal in a TATA. Their paint job is terrible. I knew this beforehand and we were ready to live with it.
I would say, bad service or delivery issues are trivial and forgettable when compared to safety of our lives! So, Tiago should be a right choice in my opinion. By the way, I also had a similar dilemma in choosing between Spresso and Tiago and in the end, I chose Tiago ZXA+.
Depends.... If safety and features at a lesser price is your requirement, Tiago fits the bill. You'll get used to the issues (I've mentioned in the video) after some time. If premium interiors and peace of mind is your requirement with hill hold 🙂, i10 it is. If least maintenance and most reliability in after sales is what you are looking for, Ignis!!
@@motravelerakshay Thank you... Planning sometime in next year possibly... On another note my current i10 is a very good car. I bought it in second hand market as our first car. It even has a sunroof (that's where I got tempted). Having no proper experience, we didn't check the car thoroughly. The reading was fake and silencer had iasues. I quarelled with the dealer and got 15k back. But after some 25k of repairs it is running nicely. I have used it in the past 2 years and have gained some significant experience now. Please make video on service experience. Also please inform why ignored i10. I am in dilemma over Tiago or nios. You are a Hyundai owner so you can compare with Tata
Will do.... But the Tata experience, though well known, is improving a lot. Guess they are listening to customers. Ofcrs there is a comparable difference between the 2. Yet to get the first 1000 km service done in the Tiago. Will let you know as soon as it is done.
Will make a separate video soon on this one. There's one more comment in this trail asking for the same.... The car is due for it's first 1000 km service. Once that is done, I'll make a video about city and highway mileage
I guess I will not be allowed to get into the service bay and make a detailed video about it. I will definitely try.... 🙂 I will definitely make a video explaining my service experience though I cannot videograph the actual servicing of the car.
Ignis, Wagon R etc AMT models from Maruti have hill hold assist, which is a must. They don't have this sudden surge forward aspect too. Wonder how you took Tiago AMT!
You could have taken Ignis zeta at that same cost instead. It has high seating, good visibility and a smooth, reliable, efficient engine that is a true gem. The less we talk of the poor QC and after sale support of TATA, the better. So, I say you erred in buying this car for your wife.
We were looking for some features and Tiago XZA+ ticked all the right boxes in a better budget. We did test drive the i10 nios and yes.... the smoothness, premium interiors and the hill hold can be considered as the major differences.
@@motravelerakshay I am unable to move away from Tiago because of 4 star safety and ride quality but worried about parts quality of Tata and service technician at service center to solve issues. Hyundai is good at service and parts quality, I suppose.
I just bought a TATA Tiago XZOA+ 3 weeks back. Two major things I face: 1. Car Roll backs in mid-high incline (very dangerous in Bengaluru roads). No hill assist nor the creep mode activates. Almost crashed my car within a few hours of delivery. We have to use a handbrake and maneuver. 2. The reverse TORQUE is INSANE. Need some getting used to. You have highlighted true points here. I HIGHLY appreciate this video!
