    I ran out of time to dive into the ins and outs of the class structure for Global Time Attack, but we caught the NSX partway through its transition from Street Class (full interior, non-sequential trans, limited aero) to the Unlimited Class. The NSX is currently the fastest Street Class car in the country, but next time we see it, it'll have transformed to track-only monster.
    And now you don't have to say "that's not a street car." 😁

    • @bennyb.1742
      @bennyb.1742 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@Drquimbaymatumbo Nah, not enough aero and Mike knows it, and that isn't the point of his car anyways.
      Sure they're may be faster cars out there (There's a least one McLaren F1 GTR with plates in the US. Is a Radical a street car?) but until those cars show up and drive its just a fish story. There's ALWAYS something/someone faster and better out there in the ether but it doesn't matter unless they show up and prove it.

    • @stanceworks
      @stanceworks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Amen, Bennny! You get it. Look: there are NO doubts that there are faster street cars out there. But until those come and compete, it's all talk. The title is also a *little* tongue-in-cheek. This car races in the STREET class for the SCCA's Global Time Attack series. It is a road-registered car and holds its records with a complete interior, an h-pattern transmission, and *200-treadwear road-legal tires.* I'm sure Amir would welcome anyone to come challenge his NSX, and he'd absolutely give them driving counsel and trackside help between sessions.

    • @Drquimbaymatumbo
      @Drquimbaymatumbo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bennyb.1742 oh.no... they still exist, whether they show up or not. Even some of these boat cars with ls engines n bubble rear tyres are faster. Can go to the local strip and see way faster cars on a sunday morning... right there in fromt of you. So fastest street car in northern america... nope. Like i said.. ive seen a car juat today do 60-130 in 5 seconds. Snobbery around entering time attack series doesnt mean its the fastest car. Sorry. Should really read... fastest street car round the track that day.... not in whole of north america...

    • @stanceworks
      @stanceworks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      I think you're failing to understand we're talking about fastest around a track, not fastest in a straight line. I thought that'd be contextually obvious, but I guess not. Some people struggle to differentiate.
      The point is, until another car comes to compete, meets street regulations, and goes faster, this one is the fastest. It's holds street class records at every track it has competed at, including COTA. It might not win down a drag strip, but it wasn't meant to, just like a drag car wouldn't win around a circuit, because its not meant to.

    I like this style of video. I enjoy learning about builds and seeing interviews with the builders/owners to understand why/how they did things. Even if a build is documented somewhere online it's nice to have a fresh take from someone excited about the build showing it and asking questions. Your build videos on the 308 and your other projects are great but in my opinion don't be afraid to continue to do these kind of reviews mixed in. Your visual style capturing the build is good to look at and you had a good pace talking about the car and to the owner. I appreciated hearing your thoughts on what you wanted to take away from the build. As a builder seeing/hearing the impact your build has on someone and their plans or what they are going to try to do to their own vehicle is one of the most rewarding parts.

    I can appreciate a car like this and the one you are building. Along those lines what about the car you are building? I and many thousands of others are drooling to see the 308 completed? More 308 and less filler. We will watch no matter what content you put out cause you are great at what you're doing. By the way... What about the project under the car cover? Weren't we supposed to see that once the BMW was completed? Keep up the good work and push through the hurdles!

    I love the content man. It’s a head scratcher to me that you don’t have 2M subs at this point. Keep doing what you do.

    I would absolutely love a big breakdown/explanation on more cars like the RS Future NSX, Rod Mullens Tacoma, those videos were as awesome as your K24 videos man.

    Great video! So cool seeing and hearing all the detials of it. Some will complain cause they dont see the bigger picture of why this was needed. Even tho you spelled it out quite clearly.

    As someone not really interested in stance but interested in TA cars, I think you probably make up the viewership that you might lose from your hardcore groups in us 👍

    This is cool. It reminds of reading the stanceworks blog back in the day, but in video form
