Placed statically they perform very well. Sufficient lighting and good diffusion. But I agree, this set is not made for mobile use. Build it up and place in your studio for stationary use. It fulfills my needs perfectly.
looks like i may have bought some dodgy plastic too, but will see maybe some hotglue may help repair broken plastic or even a tie wrap or tape before it breaks. that should releive the force on the plastic. The Led light panels are much better quality a 660 Led light at 24fps iso 400 gives about f5.6 at 1 meter both banks and f4 each individual bank. There are about 96 CRI rather than the 85-90 CRI of these lights.
If the Neewer ones are a bit flimsy, just imagine how bad the older ones must be! I'm kidding, anyways, I just bought a set, and I'm a little concerned about the soft box mount after seeing that yours broke, lol.
*UPDATE* I shot a shortfilm over the weekend and the soft boxes were on the lights for 2 days, shooting hours and hours with them on 100% and experienced no problems, so lucky me, haha.
You can get the same Godox and Neewer lights cheaper on ebay, also the Neewer lights with out the battery option are about 90dl on ebay, i have about 8 years with 2 Neewer battery led lights Lol. and they have taken a beating over the years.. so i cant really say something bad, also they make some real good products now, they wet from a Chinese product with a logo to a good budget brand.
