Brilliant. Will read this book. The last point re: why Stalin gave N. Korea the go ahead to invade the south because (spoiler alert) signal intel suggested the US would not back S.Korea. ...made me immediately think about Macron's recent "nothing ruled out" statement: is it actually an overt signal that is part of a NATO play whereby, in response, member states immediately push back to counter that narrative in order to instill confidence in and draw out higher kinetic aggression from Putin so that, effectively, his actions justify/warrant/give license to an escalation of western coalition participation (think: giving Olaf an excuse to flip on his T. decision; pressuring US for money and the A missles etc.). Given the extreme fragility of state of the world order we're in ATM (it is 1940 all over again) I can't believe anything of the value that was Macron's statement would've originated unilaterally.
LOL...5-D chess is a bit beyond Macron or any 'Western' leader.

It seems to me that NATO has engineered the war in Ukraine. Russia is not interested in any thing beyond its own security. Ukraine should be neutral and a trading hub
NATO has never threatened Putin. He lived very well with it for years. And during that time NATO states have scaled back their military while Putin has constantly improved his. Just look at the nuclear weapons and missiles he has developed. So this shows a paranoia and not a real threat. Paranoids should be hospitalized so they are no danger to others. As we see right now.
