Conker: Live & Reloaded is an action-platform video game developed by Rare and exclusively released for the Xbox in June 2005. The single player mode is a remake of the 2001 game Conker's Bad Fur Day for the Nintendo 64 with new stages. However, it includes a new multiplayer mode that is different from the Nintendo 64 version utilising Xbox Live. Unlike the original game, Conker: Live & Reloaded was also released in Japan.
Censorship:
The game was originally titled Conker: Live and Uncut and featured a completely uncensored single player experience. At some point during the development of the game, this was changed and the game was released with heavy censorship. Even minor obscenities which were present in the original N64 version were censored. This drew criticism from fans of the original, especially as it detracted from comedic highlights such as the "Great Mighty Poo" song in the Sloprano chapter. This song was also censored on the soundtrack, and Rare once had the uncensored Xbox version of the song on their website.
Conker: Live & Reloaded was praised by critics for its presentation and graphics. The game was named IGN's "Best of E3 2005" in the category of "Best Graphics" for Xbox. However it was criticised for changes to the singleplayer campaign compared to the original, such as the removal of certain challenges, and the lack of refinement in areas such as facial animation that was perfected on the Nintendo 64.
The multiplayer mode (new in this version of the game) remained popular well into 2007 (Over a year and a half from its release) when it remained in the top 10 most played online titles for its platform

That’s why the crew were silent when he asked where he was. He’s the captain he should know.

Yeah some of the cutscenes are based on Saving Private Ryan
I like how L&R adds dialogue when conker is running frantically on the beach and gets his weapons out when fighting tediz
Especially that tip that tediz are around every corner which helps out in the beginning
When you run over the Tediz with the tank, I can only think of the funny screams in Golden Eye 007 when you do the same thing

For the fist time in the fifteen years since this game was released I now just realized watching this video, since I can no longer play this game ever since my original Xbox died, that Conker is given the rank of Captain. Isn’t it wild that I only just noticed this now?
This game is also sold on the Xbox store via backwards compatible.

My late grandad loved this part of the game with its Saving Private Ryan vibes. He was an RAF grounds communicator, ready to prepare a landing strip for planes after the invasion is completed outside the town of Arromanches (Gold Beach). The barge he was on was levelled by mortar fire and he just like Conkers jamp overboard as the tide dragged the barge closer to the beach than expected, he would have been killed. Gold Beach was nasty, flanked by Omaha and Juno, Nazi’s went in hard there.

This is what I remember learning in history class
The Xbox remaster looks much better than the original.
A few details that not many people know that this game captured,
1, everyone on the beach was an officer, which you can tell by the vertical white stripe on the helmet,
2, the beach was actually assaulted by the 53rd squirrel battalion, rather than the 2nd Ranger and 5th Ranger battalions,
3, everyone had an assault rifle

This level is more WW2 than most WW2 shooters. Games like Call of Duty are like ''LOL SHOOT FASCISTS, YAY, YOU WIN!'' but this game really went in on how brutal war can be. One moment Conker is conversing with another squirrel, the next, that squirrel has a bullet in his brain. Then later Conker sees Tediz killing prisoners. This is hardcore stuff. This is as brutal as War for Cybertron, where prisoners are executed in kangaroo courts and by firing squads.
The original Tediz always scared the shit out of me. This new redesign doesn't have the same impact
Yeah the old Tediz actually look like evil creatures with their shiny eyes and angry expression and the new ones look like actual war fighters

People often make the observation that "this couldnt be made today" with games and movies, and most of the time its just something people say to get a laugh, as most things arent that serious. But this. I genuinely think this is an acception. This couldnt be made today
That's more like it, the shooting controls are much better. The movement is much more versatile, and the aiming is much more versatile with a full range control stick for each.
Jesus, if THIS is what you call "good" driving controls, I'd hate to see what the original was like. The tank controls are fucking terrible, almost as bad as the swimming controls. Who designs it so that the left control stick controls all movement, including left and right? And why is there no accelerate and brake button? And why does the tank not go in the direction the camera is facing? It's like they tried to merge FPS driving controls with Platformer driving controls and resulted in this unholy abomination.
If you were to give this game to say twenty intelligent people, I mean what would that do ? Lets face it, what would it do?
