To anyone who ever said that the TurboGrafx-16 couldn't stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Super Nintendo or the Sega Genesis, Art of Fighting would like to pop round for a quick mo to let you know that it exists. "Hello! ...please love me? Somebody?" - _PC Engine circa 1994_
Yeah, People now said SNES and Sega Genesis were in a huge battle together, but what about the Turbografx-16? It has 16-Bit Power too! Same for Neo Geo.
It's a real shame that the PC Engine didn't get more love over here. I would've loved to play those _Bomberman_ games for sure. And as for this game, you've gotta hand it to the team for making an awesome conversion. Plus, who doesn't love the plot twist of the final battle where you think it's going to be another clone battle, but then ??? turns out to be... (to be continued?).
If I've said it once I've said it I've said it a thousand times. It was never a lack of power that killed the TurboGrafx 16. It was a lack of marketing, advertising, and releasing it's killer apps in the USA.
I'm not holding back to say that the PC Engine is my favorite console. It has phenomenal ports that i consider superior than the SNES and Genesis ones: Super Darius II is an excellent port of Darius II with new bosses and an arranged soundtrack. The PC Engine CD port of Fatal Fury 2 is so outstanding that completely push down the Genesis version from the top of the hill. Same for Special that completely destroy thath Sega CD travesty. The PCECD port of World Heroes 2 is so great that make look the SNES version like a joke. Although they consider the port of Chase HQ bad, they just say this because they didn't know how to play this version correctly. In fact, Chase HQ for the PC Engine is very great! Along with the ZX Spectrum version, this is one of the best version of Chase HQ. Even SCI had a great port on the PC Engine and it turned better than the Chase HQ one. However it has some flaws and unfairness that make me prefer Chase HQ.
0:17 dear snk. Give us rereleases with the studio audio vocals and not direct from the rom samples. Hear how clear the dialogue is. We need a cd quality sound effect of the games. That would be amazing.
This is similar to the ending: Yuri: "Please stop, brother!" Ryo: "Yuri! Are you all right? I was worried about you!" Robert: "YURI." Yuri: "Brother, there's something I need to tell you... This game is... This game is...!" Then it goes to the error message I can't exactly read, but it's probably telling you that you need to insert the Arcade Card before starting the game. Also, the first three lines are just game audio, but Yuri's second set of lines are apparently unique to this scene. Also, in that shot, there is a Lilly growing out of her head ("Yuri" means "Lilly" in Japanese).
If NEC doesn't delayed the release of the TurboGrafx-16, It could be turned better and maybe we could have the TurboCade Card (A name that i thought for the North American Arcade Card) along with english versions of Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury 2 and Special, World Heroes 2, Mad Stalker, Strider and Sapphire (maybe with a Mega Man reskin, cuz could be great, since the PC Engine is the only console that doesn't have a Mega Man game).
So it's a game where you fight people until your sister tells you to stop and then get mad and play the slot machines while chopping giant white carrots? I'll give Hudson Soft credit for their original story line.
1.It's not zoom. It's a scale resolution effect made to imitate the zoom effect present in the Arcade original. Which was a very clever move. 2.What did you expect from and Arcade CD-ROM game. Arcade CD-ROM games might have the best graphics, which is why there are loading times. Also every CD game has loading times, don't you? 3.Uhhh... No.

I like the TurboGrafix, i never played it but it looks great. I am playing Mario 2 1988 SNES version now ..

This is my first time seeing this port. It's actually pretty impressive!
Pretty good port of Art of Fighting, but load times do bog down the experience. Also the constant resolution changes will mess with your eyes.

A very good conversion. The scaling isn't very elegant but at least it tries (Mega-CD Fatal Fury Special - cough, cough)
Don't nominate that human travesty.
I wonder if that bit at 19:53 was going to be in the Neo Geo version originally, and the short unused track on the OST was made for it
I wonder what Yuri is saying to Ryo and Robert in the Turnip mini game, sounds a bit silly little game with some background story.
This is similar to the ending:
Yuri: "Please stop, brother!"
Ryo: "Yuri! Are you all right? I was worried about you!"
Robert: "YURI."

A terrible prank from dad
Les dégats sont trop bizarrement géré dans le jeu. Genre un hokoken prend autant de vie qu'une projection...
Ryo for Smash
Spoiler alert, mr karate is Ryos dad, it’s a terrible prank
A shame this never came to the united states

How many of you thought the CPU character's name was Push Run?
Daikon Giri !

Lmao, interesting to say the least. Btw, those giant white vegetables are radishes called daikon.
What does Hudson have to do with anything AOF related?
Pretty funny how Yuri started out as some typical damsel in distress and now she's kind of a clown in the KOF series
Eric 😀😃
You forgot to translate the intro.
This language changes to default when you turn the console.

Strange zoom, terrible loading! Snes wins!
