Thank you so much for this review I have had to return 3 cameras that weren't even close to what they claim I'm sure your well aware of the Interpolation used in cheaper cameras so they can claim 20 megapixels when in fact they don't even have a 1 megapixel sensor. I did some deeper digging on this The AKASO EK7000 action camera and has a 1/2.3 inch CMOS image sensor and has 8 useable megapixel which is only 2 less than my GoPro Hero 7 was. Anyways huge thank you this camera will have to do for now I can't afford a new 600$ GoPro and making fishing content is how I earn my living.
My experience is the same as yours. I just bought both an EK7000 and an EK7000Pro. I've tested the still photos. Both claim to have 20megapixel modes, although the manual for the non-Pro says 12MP. Both are hardly any better than their 4MP modes. Definitely interpolating, which is certainly not mentioned in AKASO's documentation or advertisements. I feel cheated. But, as my uses will be as dashcams, I'm not sure how important image quality is and I have to say I'm impressed at all the accessories you get.
Wow, a game changer for budget cameras from a good enough brand. To say or advise anyone to try and buy it for basic use. At a really economical price , In my channel, there are reviews of budget cameras like these.
So it’s basically a dash cam. It Looks exactly like how dash cams advertised as being 4K look. It’s not the same quality of 4K that you would find in a camera, it’s not really even as good as most modern smart phone cameras. But as others to say, it seems to be a great deal for the price. A lot of accessories, waterproof, and really shouldn’t be amazing content in front of the lens People are paying attention to, not the video quality?
I’m looking at this to record doing tattoos, can you have external power like a power bank plugged into it for longer sessions since the batteries only last around 90 minutes?
It would work for some on a budget, but its no insta360. It is overly sharp in areas it shouldn't be and when close up in lower light, the details are all gone in things. That rock with the cameras was a perfect example.
Hi i bought this a few weeks ago and bought a couple of sd cards... can i format the sd cards in this or do i have to do it on a laptop or pc furst before i use them in this akaso.. thanks... im still trying to figure out how to put it in a normal mount as its in the waterproof mount at the minute 😒
good job mate, thanks
just bought something similar...

It would be nice to see how you get the cam off the box
Great brand, dont see the need for gopro when you have this, it really dont show any different on youtube
Very cool.
I intend to use this while biking or as a dash cam for my car. Seems overall you had concerns with underwater only?
That condensation might not be from water. Mine had the same thing just from recording outside on a sunny day without any exposure to moisture.
Saved me !! Thank you soo much

I believe you can. I have the brave 7 le. And I attach a battery to it via a micro USB for long fishing trip on the lake.

There's a menu option to format on the camera in settings when you first put the SD card in
Hi um do U know what micro SD to use I don't know lf to use 32gbs or 64gbs
Mine formatted with 128gb micro SD, but super confusing to use. The app was of zero assistance at all.
@@PreciousBoxer oh ok thanks but on Amazon it says it needs 64gbs so I think ima use that but thanks anyway
