I adore Moonstore and I bought the exact same terrain set when I got into the game. I'm definitely looking forward to this series.

Since your video where you showed your 4 goblins two weeks ago, I bought the starter and 4 boxes... I painted 10 miniatures (5 Commonwealth, 5 Dominion), made 2 games and I'm in love with the game ^^

This game was being championed by a guy and Gal at Qcom in belfast a couple of months ago. He is a great painter and he really made the table look superb with lovely scenery too. I didn't get to play myself, but a really nice little game. Great stuff 👍🏻👍🏻
The terrain they use at the events is fantastic. Did you see the tower with the airship?
@@tabletopskirmishgames I didn't no, they had the villages, fences etc from memory, but that mixed with the guy's painting it all was top notch

What other skirmish games did you play to know if we have similar experiences with games. Another game i like to play is Malifaux but it’s way more complicated to learn and play then moonstone but they have some similarities

Awesome, thanks for following along with the series and picking up the starter set! There is a LOT of Moonstone content to come over the year and beyond, it's by far my favourite fantasy skirmish game at the moment.
Actually might buy this, there's something about the style of both the game and books that reminds me of old style GW when they gave a toss lol!
I've always loved the look of this game (grew up watching Labrinth and Dark Crystal!), and it always seemed to be a fairly unique system.
It's fun seeing all the little references that inspired the Moonstone characters, and I love that the creators don't back away from that.
@@tabletopskirmishgamesFor sure. I've heard at least one interview and they were very open about it. I just need to really think about it because I genuinely love the entire line, so if I start...it will be a money sink, so before I commit I may need clear some shelves.😅

I'm a big fan of Battle Systems. Did you see the recent fantasy dungeon crawler terrain they produced? I've got a nice ruined village to build from TT Combat ready for the next AoS tournament that I'll also be using for Moonstone.
I still can’t figure out the movement and ranges without the colors and shapes. How many circle/white can a pug charge?

Hi Lee, how does this game compare to something like Warcry in terms of complexity of rules, etc?
Once you've got the hang of the two different card mechanics for the Magic/Ranged attacks (Arcane Deck) and the Melee (Melee Deck) you are pretty much there. You can learn Moonstone as fast as Warcy definitely but the rules and abilities for each character are very different and that adds more options and complexity than Warcry.
I would say there are a lot more tactics involved here. You can work out combinations and characters that compliment each other for more tactical games, or keep things simple and go with the characters you think are more fun to play. Overall it's a pretty simple ruleset with a lot of depth; it's very clever.
The rule book has 20 pages, and that includes some nice clear round examples of how the card mechanics work. I'll be posting the how to play video next week so you can see it in action, and I'll be reviewing the book very soon.
The miniatures look fantastic but unfortunately can't solo play this :(
Yeah with the bluffing system this one is meant for PvP. I've noticed it has a wider appeal than a lot of the other skirmish games, my wife is even interested in giving this one a go!
I can see the style of the minis giving it a wider appeal for sure, I'm thinking of getting just the minis and using them in another game system.

This game is fun and the miniatures are very cool. But the miniatures break way too easily and do not glue easily at all. Makes the game unplayable when a slight breeze will break you miniature
I find Loctite Super Glue power gel makes a big difference and Warmag bases are a game changer. Sorry to hear you've had some breakages.
