SRV - the absolute greatest guitar player of all time. The main criticism he gets is that he's too repetitive and plays the same licks over and over again, and that even may be true but he does it SO WELL that even the same lick sounds different each time he plays it. Absolute mastery of the fretboard, his guitar was like an extention of his body, combined with the tone that almost physically rips through your body and the emotion and intensity which he played with makes him the undisputed GOAT in my book.
Perfectly stated! There's nothing wrong with repetitive licks, especially when he had so many nuances in those so called repetitive licks. Simply stated, SRV got everything he wanted and nothing he didn't when he did a solo.
The only guy presently that I would say can have the potential to be Stevie Ray Vaughan and that started young is Quinn Sullivan. You should check him out. He’s the little guy that played with Buddy guy when he was eight years old and he’s grown up a little and he’s kicking but. He’s got chops and he could sing and he’s got soul.
nsc217 The first riff I can tell sounded like buddy’s strat sound (dirty bell), also both voices are clearly buddy then stevie in sound man. You can’t miss those tones or voices you can hear the pain, thats not something you can duplicate.
Love and miss you forever. SRV 💙
SRV leaves the planet earth somewhere in the middle of this. Got a bootleg 6 months after this concert. God bless you, God bless Stevie and Buddy

I don’t think he’s repetitive at all. He’s the 🐐 as far as I’m concerned.

I was about to go to bed at 3:30, but then I saw this...
Stevie EVEN outdid himself in this song. He's a blessed guitar savant who will always be loved for his gift and his generous giving of it.
OMG....SRV is unbelievable!

+Lanaya Baker What about Buddy Guy Shredding
Tim Harris Yes, of course, I completely agree. Buddy Guy is phenomenal and his newest release shows it one more time!

the best two guitarist except for the three kings
Good points and bad points but a total cluster of fucking cluster...fucking bull.. shit.
Lots of out of tune and clashing. This doesn't sound real
Clearly Buddy and Stevie. What exactly doesn't sound real? Wish I'd seen this show. Wow!
Have to agree with Russell...if you have ever heard either Stevie or Buddy you would recognise the vocal and guitar. Ridiculous statement.

NCS 217 Its obvious you don't know the blues.
It's a jam, so....
