Just reached her for the first time today. I felt so powerful after not dying to the Pure Vessel on the first time I reached them in Pantheon 5, and I was humbled QUICKLY
I feel you, pal.
I was so locked in during pantheon 5 that i did like the last 10 bosses hitless and then i reached absolute radiance to just get killed in under 30 seconds
The reason why Markoth is so hated is because he has Abs Rad in his blood
we need "fuck these orbs" merch now!
It took me 3 days and a lot of attempts to be able to beat Absolute Radiance on Ascended. I was going to take a break, but figured I'd give it a shot on radiance. I did it in two tries! All Radiance bosses complete!
Congratulations you have completed one of the most difficult tasks of any video game

Gotta love a timely video. I'm curtently grinding AbsRad in the Hall and I'm just not consistent enough with the fight. Her RNG is brutal. This is definitely helpful, thank you.
I've defeated the likes of Malenia and Inner Isshin. HK bosses like NKG, PV, and Zote fall easily now. But I can honestly say AbsRad is the hardest thing I've ever faced in a video game. That's just me.
Hope it helps you beat it! The orbs always do me in but after awhile you can get used to luring them into the floor and platforms

I know it’s atmospheric but man it is so hard to follow all the projectiles when everything is yellow on a yellow background

I've beaten Absolut Radiance today for the first time, on normal mode of course. An hour ago.
I wanted to beat him on my own the first time and now I'm searching for tips and somehow, most of it I found out myself in the 200-300-400 tries I needed, lol.
From all attacks, I must admit, yes, the orbs are preeetty bad, but the beam burst is way worse to me. The orbs, unless I'm incautious, I can pretty easy dodge them and hit them in the ground, but these beam bursts, no, it's like I never will get beyond them. I have to be super-focused and even then I super often jump just right in them thinking to dodge them.
But, thanks anyway, I learned something with the D-Darks, that they help getting rid of these ground spikes.
I still gotta beat this silly lil (big) fella on radiant ;-;

for those who really need to heal, quick focus and shape of unn together make healing completely free (quick focus makes slug move faster)
Also, oddly enough, sprintmaster of all things can be pretty good, as it lets you more easily stall the walls of light and swords as you wait for shade cloak to reactivate (descending dark is probably better but hey, I had it when I beat it for the first time)
Thank you for being condescending as shit in your intro, it helps with motivation fueled with hatred towards Radiance. In all seriousness though, I didn't know that descending dark could destroy the spikes, I'll try that next time
Just some tips if you want to beat her on radiant playing more aggressively
•For first phase orbs, pogo above her and then d dark
•You can fit a shriek in between each wave of the sword burst and beam burst in the first phase
•You can safely shriek if the bottom of the sword wall has a gap
•Abuse steady body- if you do a single jump, you can keep hitting her from the side and then d dark
•In the platform phase, if you stay on the bottom platform you can shriek if she goes to either of the platforms on the side
•You can also do a single jump up from the bottom platform and shriek if she goes to any of the upper middle platforms
•You can shriek at the end of the climb

why is the final phase genuinely the hardest like im trying to do it on ascended and ill get there with almost full health and then i just die instantly. it seems like such a simple phase but the homing projectiles just conveniently go where you want to go

This is what stopped me playing hollow knight but I might just go back
i went from thinking i will never get down abs rad cliimp phase to beating it in ascended and also beat fifth pantheon with nail binding
sadly beating radiant markoth left me tramatized and i left the goal of completing radiant hall of gods and getting the mask binding and soul binding on fifth pantheon for another YEAR
No easy feats! Mostly you just have to throw enough time at her to get through it. I think absrad is harder than markoth but is more fair. Markoth is just straight BS. Absrad is only MOSTLY bs

i heard a tip that says that you should jump at the same time as a beam hits on the climp phase which i have never heard before despite seeing many many tutorials on youtube and i reached the climp phase once after getting a really good rng on the platform phase and it was basically over i beat it after 30 minutes
markoth ended up giving me a much harder time
of course 30 minutes is an exaduration
i have counltess hours and hours of pracice on abs rad beating it on ascended and plenty of times even in the pantheon and even with a binding on
fun fact: descending dark destroying the spikes is probably not intentional! the spikes dissapear when you touch them, which makes you take damage, but with the descending dark i-frames you touch them and dont take damage, making them dissapear
I'm currently on this boss, it's a nightmare, move over Grimm/Pure Vessel

I would say that cyclone slash is VERY helpful. Especially when you have no soul. If you have soul eater then you can get half your soul back from cyclone slashing. It helped me in the long run.
If your gonna choose a healing build make sure you have quick focus & stalwart shell because quick focus & stalwart shell when combined grant the bearer to heal during i-frames
If you’re feeling like you’re not that good at dodging her attacks then add carefree melody to your charm build
Or if Abs Rad is making you go so crazy & insane just slap soul eater on with shaman stone
I can’t seem to get it to show up in hall of gods just pantheon of the hollow nest
If you've reached absrad in the pantheon then a new room should open at the top right of hall of gods

The most infuriating part about this fight isnt even dying in the first 10 seconds or the long ass opening cutscene, but the way that the music gets replaced with that god damn droning in the last phases. That shit makes this fight 100x more stressful and I fucking hate it.
Funny enough, that's what the droning is meant to do. It's meant to be off putting, to mess you up, to exert pressure

I find Gpz right after Markoth the hardest part of p5 so I started another save file were I left Zote to die
Got to Abs Rad in p5 first try lol
now it's practice time
I mean, When you practice both of them in ascended (especially Markoth) it becomes much easier, because of the difference in damage. If you are very patient with Markoth and don't go wild you can defeat him without taking much damage, and Zote at least for me is not that difficult since I defeated him many times in the original fight.
The “speed” of NKG is the same speed as TLG

I feel like for newer players to abs rad replacing shaman stone with quick focus is a play even in P5 as most soul on abs rad will be used for healing if you are getting hit often and in my opinion pure vessel is quite free if you have those 3 lifeblood as well as being a melee centered boss so it wont harm you too much replacing shaman with quick focus on pure vessel either
Edit: it took me about 3 attempts to beat her now im just preparing so i dont die on P5 too many tines on her
I used a full spell build and it breake radiance
And a nail charm only one
i got to abs rads last phase on pantheon five and then i died.

I have been trying to beat this boss for a month and a half and I think I have reached my skill cap.
No matter how long I practice I cannot get better or develop faster reaction times than I have.

Appreciate the video. Unfortunately looking for something far far more in-depth than this, but I suppose that's my own fault for not realizing that by the length of the video. The amount of RNG in this fight is so upsetting for such a wonderful game. Guess I'll just have to "git-gud"

If you are not proffessional enough to reach her in pantheon yet and you really wanna lose your sanity, there is an invincibility glitch you can do in godhome to just complete p5 no problem. Just type "hollow knight invinsibility glitch" in yt, click in one of the videos and just follow the steps. After clearing p5 though, remember to come back to it the legit way when you are ready
