This is the only guide I've seen that is actually helpful. The really popular one did not help me at all and hurt me in the fight. What you're doing makes sense and makes it easier instead of more difficult.
I was fighting Pure Vessel to the limit of my ability with the joystick, and I realized that there is an input delay (around 50 to 100 milliseconds) and I needed to have a more responsive input, so I switch to D-Pad even though it's uncomfortable as fuck, I started winning against Pure Vessel as if I started fighting like Rock Lee who have been wearing weighted clothing the whole time finally taken off the weights.
I like your Dpad joystick comment. Played about 100 hours with wobble P5 knob. At end vessel was unbeable. Replayed game with Dpad a couple times. When I refaced him it was much easier. Knew I had to get off knob and switch to Dpad.
Sharp shadow trivializes most of his attacks. If you dash early you can consistently have shade dash recharged for every attack and just sharp shadow though everything. The only moves you cant just dash through are focus, the pillars, and the void tendrils
you can actually dodge through the pillars it's just really tight timing(I've done it once or twice accidentally) but honesty stay on the ground and dodge has been my strategy
Fully agree with that one, always using dash to avoid his moves makes the fight so much easier and consistent. The problem with jumping is it's quite hard to know the difference between charge and knives throwing attacks especially when the vessel is slightly off screen . And avoiding triple slash with jump has too tight timing. So with dash you always know how to dash and just mind the timing

Thanks for the guide! Took about 20 mins for the first clear. I learned very quickly (and recommend to anyone else) to just jump against every single attack except his diving down onto you sword pillar one. And after jumping just pogo if he attack and dash if it’s the projectiles
I don’t know if people are going to see this, but if you end up right next to the boss during soul pillars, you can get a quadruple hit with abyss shriek. Also, during the focus attack, I’ll dash away and use 3 shade souls. Everything else I did is pretty much the same as in this video. Hope this helps someone!
I beat Pure Vessel using a primarily healing-based charm setup. Shape of Unn, Quick Focus, Deep Focus, and Grubsong. I had Spore Shroom also equipped for the other Pantheon 4 bosses. My battle strategy mostly involved staying in the air and nail-pogoing the boss.
Struggled hard on this fight, fought nkg cuz i can beat him consistently, bc they have similar attacks that muscle memory will kick in and will warm u up for pure vessel, huge help for me so if ur struggling fight nkg and come back to PV
I found that for the spirit explosion, you can heal 1 mask even without the fast heal charm. Dash away the MILLISECOND you see the attack and heal before the mini spheres appear. You may have to do a shade dash after the heal because a little explosion could appear on you. After a bit of training and learning when the explosion starts, you can get 1 mask guaranteed
The only guide that helped me consistently beat him, the other guide that has more views didn't do anything for me, it just covered the attacks and for me that's the only thing it did but I already knew the attacks because I've been trying to beat him for an hour. after watching this guide I beat him consistently 5 times in a row now heading to the pantheon
The Sharp Shadow and Mark of Pride charms were my best friends when challenging PV. Managed to get to 50% on Radiant until I died by the stupid void tendrils move. Catches me off guard every single time.
Hopefully this guide will help me, so far I have been doing this fight for 4 hours and I still havent found a good way to avoid the 3 swing attack, also havent made it to third phase.
@@Ignited_. Yeah, I beat him the next day. I found out that my problem was distancing. I was too close to him after I would attack. So if i attack then back off each time, then I have time to parry the 3 swing attack
I entirely forgot and didn't realize that is how the practicing pantheon area is. I have been making myself dread the fight with by having to fight all the way through the 4th pantheon, getting to him with full health and soul, only to die so so quickly with no way to actually practice. Knowing he is there for practicing, I hope I can revitalize the fight in me now, I love fast movement, parrying, the fluid motions, I love the feeling and the flow, truly a feeling of dueling with a smile, I look forward to hopefully getting that smile back, like I did during most of Elden Ring.
@@logidesigns9058 yup, after that i also beat pantheon 5 (which isn't that bad after you learn pure vessel and absolute radiance) and then grinded out all the achievements. Once you beat pantheon 4 you're gonna feel unstoppable. Hollow Knight is definitely in my top 5 games of all time. Good luck!

Another thing that helped me a lot during the soul pillars attack: Jump The hitbox of the pillars are thinner in the top so jumping would help you if you find it difficult to get the correct spacing everytime

My first attempt at p4 ever I made it to him, survived to the soul explosions and then got shishkabobbed bc instead of healing I accidentally hit him out of his stagger with dark spirit (forget the name xd) and he just murdered me xd (also Ty this is very helpful, mostly just the healing part bc I always try and get in two heals ;-;)
Why do so many people not upgrade fragile heart or fragile strength to unbreakable? For me it’s 100% worth and an easy way to get that money is redoing trials in the colosseum of fools. Also my charm build goes as follows: unbreakable heart, unbreakable strength, quick slash, and mark of pride. This is very versatile and works with pretty much every single boss in every part of the game. Unless your wandering, then replace mark of pride with wayward compass and dash master.
And the main issue is the void tendrils but I never get to practice the attack because the few times I get that far he just slaps me with them and thats game
Funny thing is I've seen playthroughs of p5 enough that when I got to PV I already knew his attacks. Call it beginner's luck but I made it to the tendrils before losing. Cut to like 4 days later I'm still trying to beat him in an actual run

If you still haven't beaten NKG, try Quick Focus, Sporeshroom, Weaverlings, Sprintmaster, grubsong. I didn't have any chance against NKG with "normal" Builds but this build worked out for me. Weaverlings, Grubsong and sprintmaster have special interactions so that the Weaverlings now deal decent damage while also collecting a lot of Soul. Quick focus gives a lot more openings for healing and makes already existing openings safer. And sporeshroom also deals good damage thanks to all the healing.
Pure Vessel can only be fought in Godhome (Pantheons 4 and 5 and Hall of Gods) . His weak version (like soul master for soul tyrant) is The Hollow Knight in the Black Egg Temple.
You have to beat the Pantheons 1 to 3. Then you get Godseeker mode. There you can fight him in the hall of gods. Or you reach him in Pantheon 4. Then you can fight him in hall of gods too.

The jumping over him and down slash doesn’t work. There is not enough time to figure out what he’s doing then jump in time to be on top of him, he keeps hitting me mid jump. Unless I got a bugged digital copy and my character jumps slower than others, I need some better advice. The issue with all these instructional videos is that his attacks are too fast to telegraph. It doesn’t matter how many strategies you give for his attacks if you don’t have time to react to them. This boss is just unfair, and imo they dropped the ball hard making him.
Once you learn all his moves and get used to his attacks he becomes pretty easy, really. I used to struggle with him too, until I practiced for like 20 mins or so and then the guy became a joke I managed to radiant him 3 times. I have no idea if you did it already since it's been 2 weeks but if you didn't, trust me you can do it. If you're still struggling one piece of advice is sharp shadow can help because it can damage pure vessel and the increase dash length REALLY helps so you can phase through his chunky hitbox more easily, which can help in the triple slash part. Another piece of advice is during the soul pillars attack, before he manages to summon the pillars, you can jump over him and pogo on his head, dealing damage and avoiding the pillars too, or you can jump since the upper part of the spike is more narrower to save you some time just incase you might hit the spike on the bottom part OR use ddark for s to buy you some time.
Just practice, no you don't have a bugged digital copy, lol. And no the attacks aren't too fast to react to the telegraph or you wouldn't be watching a video that shows you how. Take a break if you're frustrated, it's an optional boss for people wanting a challenge.

This is fkin IMPOSSIBLE. It's been four hours now and I barely get to the second phase. I might not do the last two Pantheons. At least NKG was difficult, but fun. This fight is just frustrating.

I’ve played with the D-pad ever since Guilty Gear Strive taught me how much more responsive and manageable the d-pad is.

For soul pillars, always shade dash towards the vessel. It spaces you perfectly between two pillars behind him

You probably got further than 50% bc PV only starts using that at 33% health

If no, try swapping one of tour charms for sharp shadow and dash through him

Another thing that helped me a lot during the soul pillars attack:
Jump
The hitbox of the pillars are thinner in the top so jumping would help you if you find it difficult to get the correct spacing everytime

For soul pillar if you want to get damage you can pogo his head bc the hit box is inbetween 2 of the pillars but it has to be from the front

I mean if you saw a video seeing all his attacks I'd possibly understand I guess....

At least NKG was difficult, but fun. This fight is just frustrating.
