I remember before I started working in Asset Management I watched this video. I absorbed about 40% of the info but it was a nice pretext for my upcoming job. Having worked here for about a 3 months, I revisited this video and I understood the other 60%. Makes so much more sense now that I’ve gotten into industry. Thanks Afzal for another brilliant video. 👍🏽
The value of your cash flow or investment can actually bring about a better profit margin that is exceptionally good. A heavy investment will yield more profit if properly followed, though it is a complex thing and most be proper adhere to.actually a very nice stuff ❤
Quit outstanding stuff I think is better to make proper plans and start with something regardless of the value. Statistically the way investment is taking over the world 🌎 it can really be benefiting to take a bold step now, I was this scared and procrastinating on when to actually start but you know time doesn't wait. now I can gladly talk about the benefits.
Investment is a good thing to think of at any time, but also try and understand the exit and trade role of the market this will also aid a proper trade process for easy risks management,a greater percentage of traders make this mistake so you see it is not just about investing heavy funds but the process and market strategies too
I have really been trying to understand the format and basic because I am new here.though my work a salary level was really a big hindrance but the good thing is that I have been a bit elevated and really want to invest so I can step up for the future. Is there any fixed amount one can start with and how do I calculate and know the exit?
Actually a good thing to start investing.sincerly I am really happy I "grab the bull by the horn" because when i was having health challenges my investment benefits were my support , that really helped me pull through that with ease.
It is understood that sometimes life challenges can hinder or slow down the processes, like health challenges, financial challenges (low salary level),weather and other circumstances ,but then one doesn't need to wait for bug funds before something can be done.

Evening Afzal! I have a potential video idea for the future; A day in the life of working on your entrepreneurial ventures explaining hours and routine etc. Thanks for the video!
Great video! What kind of personal skills should you have if you want to apply for sales people/ relationship managers or marketing and events? So like if I am introvert and not good at public speaking I am better suited to trader/research analyst/portfolio manager than distribution channel. Which position do you recommend for people like me who are introvert and soft skills are not really their strong point.
Nice video. Could you please do a video on the various divisions in an investment bank (asset management, IB, etc) and their tasks, pay and any sort of info. We need a video on this. Thanks afzal
Hi Afzal, thanks for your video! The AM industry is greatly explained! May I ask what would be a greater exit opportunity for the AM or IB front office from the below opportunities? 1. An offer from Amundi for a trainee position in the Finance Department, managing AUM. 2.An offer from a small local asset management firm (ard. HKD 5 billion AUM) for a research analyst role. 3. Risk associate, risk management in Clover Aviation (JV of Mizuho bank and PingAn Insurance)
Hi Afzal thank you for your passion and time making this video. I just wanted to ask in terms of what skills the recruiters are looking for in a cv for this role? I haven't got any experience in banking or in the finance industry, but I have got some experience in the marketing field and I guess it's transferable(?) I'd really appreciate if you could give me some advice on this question. Thanks a lot!
At first of all I really appreciate your work. You help a lot of young people who are intrested in investment banking. My question is how long are the working hours in asset management? For example as an research employee. Keep up the good work!
Hey I really like your videos and I would love to see one about Exit options after a sales and trading or asset management role. I am right now doing an undergrad degree in mathematics and I am really interested in those areas because they are more quantitative than the investment banking division, but I would really love to be self-employed one day and don’t know what exits are possible to learn more skills and finally be self employed. I am really thankful!!
HI Afzal, I am hoping to secure an internship at an asset management firm and would like to apply for the role of a research analyst. Whenever I have done research into this, I see things such as sell-side analyst and buy-side analysts, both of which I have never heard of before. If you could please explain what these roles are or delve deeper into the role of a research analyst then that would be great. Thank you!
Thanks for this great video again Afzal, Could you explain why HR is working so closely with finance and why there is often a Head of Finance & HR (head of both)? I don’t get what HR has to do with the finance team
Hey man love your videos, keep up the great work!! Quick question I am an Accounting and Finance Major at Iowa State University in the U.S. Will getting a minor in Data science or Statistics help me stand out and help me in a career of being a Financial analyst in Investment banking?
Thanks! Courses studied play only a fraction of a role in securing offers. Firms encourage applicants from all degree disciplines so you should do something you enjoy and are good at. It doesn't make a major difference to be honest. :)
You mentioned in a previous video about a stretch assignment to develop commercial awareness. Could you tell me sort of things to be reading ( certain websites? etc) or any other relevant info you can please? Thank you
Aster lifestyle. It is a prospective mall. Asset is east in the name. I think it is a good enough idea. Office breaks shopping. It has been an ancient demand for mall. No one knows that it is. It is a new idea.
Hello! Afzal I want to know what kind of skill sets I need in order for getting a job in financial career. I am doing my mandatory military service in S. Korea and learning Chinese here. But im not sure whether it may help (even if a little) me get through the recruiting process
Hi Afzal, I'm a Credit Risk Modeling Analyst in a Big4 and I will take the CFA exams in May. I also have a Msc in Quant Finance Is it any chance to get hired in asset or wealth management as a portfolio analyst ?
Hi @afzelHussain, I have done graduation & ACCA in 2014, and have been working as a finance analyst in pvt companies for almost 5 years now. At the same time, I was doing CFA due to my grown up interest in financial services & investment sector. I have just appeared for CFA level-3 exams and expecting to be Qualified CFA soon. I have immense experience in MS office (particularly excel) and financial modelling. I applied to various analyst jobs (even internships at the age of 28 now) but I couldn't get anything. Previously I was in Pakistan and now Its been almost a year now in UK but nothing here too. I got supreme passion for portfolio management which I want to do in the long term. Can you please advice me anything on how I can nail it. Regards
Hi Afazal Thank you for the detailed video. I have been working in alternative asset servicing team for over an year now and planning to pursue CAIA- would CAIA help me to advance my career in asset management
Hi Afzal, love your videos as always! Could I ask about the future for an analyst working in Client Relationship Asset Management, please? I am a penultimate-year student
Just found your channel and I must say I really enjoy your content as I‘d like to get into finance as well. I‘m about to start my bachelor here in Germany in a month which will either be a mixture of business administration and economics or (I think it’s called that way) industrial engineering. So here’s my question: Do you think I’ll be able to get into investment banking ( alternatively I am thinking of going into consulting like at Deloitte etc.) with a degree in industrial engineering or should I go for the degree in business administration and economics with this quite clear goal in mind? Would appreciate a sentence or two, but I fully understand if you don’t have the time :)

Afzal great video, where does Institutional Client Services/Relationship Management support fall? Is that within the distribution channel?
Hi Afzal, if a trader in asset management is execution only then why can’t the research analyst do that job as well? If it’s just booking trades
At first of all I really appreciate your work. You help a lot of young people who are intrested in investment banking.
My question is how long are the working hours in asset management? For example as an research employee. Keep up the good work!
Jesse, get back to the factory. We need to manage Gus's meth portfolio.
Mr. White :)
Yeah Commerce! ..wait no
Varies between seniority but you can expect 10 to 13 hours on average.
