I remember this like it was yesterday. Sting was my absolute hero. What's weird though is that he was the US champ right here but didn't bring the title out with him.
This night had me hooked to the tv. There was no need to do homework, cuz I wanted to know so badly who was sending Sting all the packages. The match with Rude was such a pisser. I remember screaming that the ambulance had to "Drive Faster!" so that he wouldn't get counted out! Looking back its so silly now, but this stuff was my whole world back then!
I was at this Clash and still live in Savannah today! Sometimes I think it was silly too, then I watch clips like this and it still gets me excited, lol. This was actually the first live show I had ever been too!
Some great storytelling there. What a great way to keep fans hooked to the TV. Just a shame that there wasn't a proper match and that it would be some years later before Rude and Sting had a proper match. Think they should have headlined Superbrawl myself. Love Paul E. reading the claurse in the contract and JR's sacastic expression.
thank you for posting this rick rude was the man. Rick rude and sting was a great story line those 2 were built to wrestle each other both about same size and worked well in the ring.
@@weworldwide1348 Have you ever been there or you're just hating on the place? You know WCW was based out of Atlanta so they did alot of their shows in Georgia back then.
I've heard that Rick Rude was a magician in the ring (like Flair and Kurt Angle) to the point that he even had good matches with the Ultimate Warrior. That oughta say something. Although Sting was a good wrestler himself. No knock on him.
I remember staying up late to watch this in my room. I loved this shit. What year was this because I was young I am 35 now I bet this was between 89-91??
Didnt WCW use this same scenario when Hulk Hogan was supposed to defend his title against Flair in 9?. Bischoff went with Hogan to the hospital and everything.
yep... although the masked man attacked Hogan with a baseball bat, which was obviously inspired by the Nancy Kerrigan/Tony Harding incident that happened a couple of months before that. 94 by the way
Now that's booking! My only issue is, why would Sting have to steal an ambulance? Why not just take a cab? There's been a cab stand outside of every hospital I've ever been to.

Ambulance ride was like 15 minutes and he got a complete health analysis in 5 minutes. lol, wcw was terrible MOST of the time. Yeah, they had some good stuff but 80% of it was white wash.
This was one of the best Clash of the Champions. I remember watching this one.
Hell yeah this 1 of most lost childhood favorites damn I'm getting old😂😂❤. Awesome uploads

Lex was going to work the wrong leg! Sting had to pull it away from him and the Lex clicked and grabbed the "bad" leg
Luger has the IQ of a dead Ant
Paul Heyman "I'm not lying, this time" lol
Definitely a rare occurrence for Paul Heyman not to lie.
Um did Paul Heyman ever tell the truth? lol
@@benbrislawn4029 ha ha never. I was telling my son that I haven’t trusted Paul Heyman since I was a kid watching this at home.
@@johnnyanthony9383 You have taught your son well.
When wrestling was good.
So HOT, Madusa teasing Sting & practically feeling him up.
This was one of the greatest heel angles of all time
Lex forgot what leg to work
I remember this so well, I was 12 years old when this happend.
I remember being in the seventh grade and watching this. Right before thanksgiving break.
Yo, when Sting and Rude met on the ramp, I damn near cried. Sting came back ready for a war.
So sting walks to the ring and didnt notice that giant box back stage?
JR, Heyman and Bischoff in WCW
Its funny since JR makes himself out to be a one company man
Wow. my hometown Savannah, GA. Good ol Civic Center
Brian Mcghee yes sir I was in the rafters somewhere
looks like a small shitty ass place filled with smelly people
@@weworldwide1348 Have you ever been there or you're just hating on the place? You know WCW was based out of Atlanta so they did alot of their shows in Georgia back then.
jim ross and tony schiavone, two of the best commentators ever in wrestling.
I'm glad they are back on TV on AEW
I've heard that Rick Rude was a magician in the ring (like Flair and Kurt Angle) to the point that he even had good matches with the Ultimate Warrior. That oughta say something. Although Sting was a good wrestler himself. No knock on him.
@slimmsayton He didn't steal the ambulance. It's clearly shown in the second clip that he was driven in the ambulance.
4:38 "Tony, Tony, get your head down"
I remember the battles of the 90s in WCW between the Four Horsemen and the Dudes with Attitude. Those were some major battles.
i miss these days. this was the best times for in ring wrestling in the history of the business
I remember staying up late to watch this in my room. I loved this shit. What year was this because I was young I am 35 now I bet this was between 89-91??
+Jason Voorhees 91 i was 6 at the time
I was 10 years old at this time. WCW was the greatest back then!
Why wouldn't there be cabs outside the hospital. There's been a cab stand outside of every hospital I've ever been to.
Damn there's Scott Hall

God, Paul Heyman is STILL gold!
Now that's booking! My only issue is, why would Sting have to steal an ambulance? Why not just take a cab? There's been a cab stand outside of every hospital I've ever been to.
You lnow this was legendary when you have Freaking SCOTT HALL in the Picture in Picture way before Crow Sting or Razor Ramon
@Bristow432 Jim Ross annoying? To quote The Miz, "Really? REALLY?" JR = one of the greatest voices in WWF/E history.
Looks like the wbf guys were carrying the box.
@maximo72756 He was the Diamond Stud back then.
Sting has seen many boxes👀
I miss you wcw
how did i miss this as a kid? Scott Hall in the ring before he was Razor.
Can't believe it was 30 years ago
Jim Ross and Paul E. = ratings

Savannah ain't Atlanta
The good ole days, did anybody else notice before eric talked to j.r. that eric was telling tony to get his head back, good ole live tv lol
If i was Sting, i would of had to rub one out in the locker room before this segment! :P
- never felt or touched real vagina
why did they have to show guys in their underwear at the beginning?
Bull shit you could here Eric telling Tony to get his head back. I miss WCW
back when the US title meant something
Back when wrestling still meant something.
or... back when you were young n dumb and fell for this scripted crap
I loved this angle !
@ThunderwingMatrix Good point. :)
I wish they would have went with a Lex Luger vs Rick Rude feud, the body angle alone would help sell it
Wow this footage is funny Jim Eric and Paul.... lmao
"We've seen many boxes, my man that is a box!!!"
I hate it when Sting becomes the bait for a really messed up plan. Not my favorite moment for him.
Paul's voice cracks. Funny.
Woooo!!!!!
I wonder if Madusa-Aundrea Blaze-Machellie
The good old days!!!
Madusa 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
RIP Brian Pillman
@knightryderrwn Who wouldn't? :)
@JUGGALOMETAL80 WTF are you talking about???
Mike Awesome!!!
yep, crap, thank god it got better later on
They should have had a Lex Luger vs Rick Rude feud, you can set it all up about who body was the best since they were both in great shape at the time
Lonestar327 always said that as well dont know why we didnt get it. Damn bookers

Ambulance ride was like 15 minutes and he got a complete health analysis in 5 minutes. lol, wcw was terrible MOST of the time. Yeah, they had some good stuff but 80% of it was white wash.

Not a fan of JR's voice during this period.
