I really enjoyed this episode of your touring around Scotland Ruth. I have visited the Ardnamurchan peninsula with friends before the distillery was there. I especially enjoyed the tour of the distillery as the core whisky from Ardnamurchan is one of my favourite Scottish single malt whiskies. The style of the core whisky makes me think of Highland Park and Glendronach 12 year olds that I drank in the late 70s / early 80s.
Ms Aisling that was an absolute pleasure to watch. I particularly enjoyed meeting the couple you visited and the distillery tour. I love professionalism in whatever field it is exhibited. If one is lucky enough as perhaps few are to do a job or live a life you love it behoves a gentleman or gentle lady to do it well. If I may be so forward Ruth you are doing splendidly. With thanks.

Fascinating! I've never seen such an in depth distillery tour. Your videos make me homesick for Scotland, even though it's been almost 60 years since I've lived in Scotland. Give my best to Callum, he obviously likes what he is doing.

The whole peninsula is a spectacular area especially for wildlife.....the young couple were lovely and I do love their lifestyle, he had a great passion For his work .....The Silver walk from Castle Tioram is just wonderful

Love Ardnamurchan, the most unspoilt part of Scotland. I rented a caravan with my family years ago in Achnaha. We got invited to a Ceilidh on our first night - made so welcome. Beautiful part of Scotland.
Each video gets better than the previous one if it's even possible. Even though my favorites are the ones where you spend the night at mysterious places, lol. Keep on the great work ❤❤❤❤❤
Well Ruth, I'm not gonna lie, that was 1 of the best videos iv watched in a long time Especially meeting the 'friends' and the whisky tour, and the barrel store
Hi Ruth. I was up on the Ardnamurchan peninsula in May in my wee van "Myfanwy" and stayed next to Callum and Rox for two nights. What a lovely couple they are, they made me most welcome. In the evenings, we had a few wee drams and food cooked on the campfire, and the only sounds were drumming snipe and bleating sheep, bliss. The peninsula is so remote and quiet, I love it. I'm planning another trip up there in October. Great video as usual, Ruth.
They mentioned to me that you'd been to visit! It sounds like you all had a great time. The wee camp fire they have is brilliant, I hope you enjoyed your drams!
Hullo from Glasgow, wee Ruthy. We recently were on Loch Shiel and saw Glenfinnan Monument. The Corran ferry is lovely. Really enjoying seeing these places I've been. Love the channel.
Another blissful video tour - Ruth, you're so good at this stuff! I took the ferry from Tobermory, Mull, to Kilchoan ("Kil-Hoan") and stopped at that viewpoint near Ben Hiant (@ 7:48). There were cattle on that beach below and sheep on the hills to the left of the viewpoint. It was absolutely serene to see the cows down on that crescent beach. Like a dream! I passed by the distillery, but schedule didn't permit me to stop. I am happy you included a tour by Calum. Next time! Thank you
Yes, indeed. One of my favourite areas. Many trips back and forward to family on the Isle Mull via Lochaline or Kilchoan (with the obligatory visit to Sanna Bay). Another outstanding video. You are a star Ruth. Missing Scotland... 🥲

Great stuff in getting those interviews with Fergus and Calum. Their local expertise added to your own expertise was the icing on the cake. Well done, Ruth!
Thanks, Ruth. I really enjoy each and every one of your episodes, but this is probably my favorite one yet. The drive in was very beautiful, with lots of variety. These friends of yours really have it going on. They are totally charming, their camper van is beautiful, and their lifestyle there in the west of Scotland is quite idyllic. The distillery tour was the best one you’ve shown us. I love all the detail he went into. I will definitely be searching for the Ardnamurchan whiskeys at our shops here in the States. Happy Camping!
Greetings from Michigan! What an amazing video! Gorgeous area (loved Sanna Beach) and Calum was a delight with his whisky history. I learned so much! I love learning about the West coast especially since my ancestors are from that side...but also love the Gaelic. My son's name is Ian and my grandson is Malcolm. Thank you Ruth for sharing your beautiful country and the motherland of my Grandparent's with us!
This is the best whisky tour I have ever seen. Calum introduced Ardnamurchan Core Expression Whisky, which appears to be a passion for excellence. Wonderful show!
Totally agree with your driving pace. I must be the slowest car driver as the reason i went to the highlands was to enjoy the view, so travelling at 50-60 on those single track roads is just not enjoyable. I was doing 25-35 and every time a car was up my backside i pulled over and let them pass, much more enjoyable and less stressful. Who wants a stressful holiday. Will be back next April 🤞

That was a neat distillery tour, wonderful to see how they are reducing climate impact. As a follow up, we found Ardnamurchan AD Core in Austin, TX. Whoo hooo, The western most point of Scotland, Congratulations Ruth ❤ and thanks Callum for the amazing distillery tour, it got me thinking whether the salt air affects the taste of the scotch, interesting 🤔
I just subscribed after enjoying a few of your videos! I love sitting and knitting and sipping tea while watching. This time I was making Scotch Eggs while watching and listening. I have Scottish ancestry but am Canadian. I would love it if you could visit Annan where a lot of my ancestors are. I would also love to see the Isle of Harris, home of the gorgeous Harris Tweed and a lot of cute sheep 🐑
Good on you Ruth. I admire your adventurous spirit. ""You can do anything if you try"" . Well done. I am in Australia but I am sure your videos do Scotland proud.
Yes the Outer Hebrides has amazing beaches, or at least it had when my wife & I were there, for a week, with our then toddler son, but that was over 40 years ago. I understand the Late Spring is probably the best time to visit. Calum was appropriately enthusiastic about "his" whisky I enjoyed your & his enthusiasm Bye!
Hi Ruth Just got back from Ardnamurchan today. I was there to visit Ben Hiant, not much view today ! I did not use the Corran Ferry. I thought I would see what the alternative route was like. (A830 -> A861 to Salen) Apart from the traffic in Fort William and Glenfinnan it was enjoyable. The GPS was quite insistent I should use the ferry, it was well on the road to Mallaig before it changed its mind. Glencoe seems to get worse every time I pass, in the 1970’s finding some where to park was tricky before heading up the mountains now it is a continuous car park ! It looks like the light in the lighthouse has been upgraded since I visited. There were still bits that went round then, now it is just a big flashing light. Many thanks for all the effort you put into your videos.
How was the hike up Ben Hiant? Is there a decent path? That afternoon after driving through Glen Coe I heard there was a big accident and they closed the road. I wasn't surprised to hear that after seeing the amount of traffic and people stopping everywhere.
Hi Ruth, unusual to see you with a Beer lol Once again another great and informative video with some amazing views of Scotland. So nice you where able to finally meet your friends, and so nice of the guy to take the time to show you around the distillery.

Ruth Attenborough. You are incredible. Your channel is an informative & educational joy. Your content is remarkable and far succeeds the BBC. Surely you have a backup location production crew in the spare bedroom? Me & my dad absolutely love your videos.
Loved the visit to the brewery with all the goat labels. Reminded me of my Angora goat Ernie. If I were drinking a beer on the deck, he'd always join me, and demand the lion's share of my brew.
wonderful to see the ardnamurchan from the land side: Sanna was the first place I ever stayed on a dinghy cruise in Scotland - imagine!! - and we have sailed past the lighthouse there at least 4 times over the years. a joyful and peaceful video. thanks!
I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the videos on your channel & this is one of the most beautiful & informative to date! It is so lovely to see these locations around Scotland which remain more remote & less influenced by modern society. Take care Ruth & I hope you keep enjoying your exploring. 😊
We visited the lighthouse several years ago. The journey to is amazingly beautiful. The lighthouse tearoom then had a wonderful collie sheepdog which loved fetch and return games. Bringing our large motorhome pass the last stretch of single carriage way where the red/green lights are was tight but well worth it. Mr Boots ( of the well known chemists ) had a beautiful large Manor House close by. Thank you for reviving some great memories.

Glad you enjoyed the tour 🥃👍
Whoo hooo, The western most point of Scotland, Congratulations Ruth ❤ and thanks Callum for the amazing distillery tour, it got me thinking whether the salt air affects the taste of the scotch, interesting 🤔
Glad you liked Calum's tour 😁🥃
I just subscribed after enjoying a few of your videos! I love sitting and knitting and sipping tea while watching. This time I was making Scotch Eggs while watching and listening. I have Scottish ancestry but am Canadian. I would love it if you could visit Annan where a lot of my ancestors are. I would also love to see the Isle of Harris, home of the gorgeous Harris Tweed and a lot of cute sheep 🐑
I’m really glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos. Those are some great suggestions, I will try to add them into my plans. Happy knitting! 😊
Very addictive, your videos! Cannot stop watching!
Glad you like them!
Good on you Ruth. I admire your adventurous spirit. ""You can do anything if you try""
. Well done. I am in Australia but I am sure your videos do Scotland proud.
Thank you for taking us on another adventure, Ruth! Love from America 💕
Thanks for watching!
Must be one of your best yet. So much interest and the tour of the distillery was a real bonus.
I’m so pleased you liked it 👍😊
Glad you enjoyed it 😁🥃

@@ruthaisling Well, I have!
This was a magnificent vlog and the whisky process was amazing
Thank you, the tour from Calum was brilliant! ❤️
🥃🥃👍
“The roads that lead to Ardnamurchan … they’re pretty mental 😂!”
Well said, especially if you’re hauling several tonnes of malted grain 😅!
😂 thanks for watching!
🥃👍
Hi Ruth
Just got back from Ardnamurchan today.
@@ruthaisling It is an easy walk with a well defined track from the top of the pass. "Walk Highlands" has more details.
Hi Ruth, unusual to see you with a Beer lol Once again another great and informative video with some amazing views of Scotland. So nice you where able to finally meet your friends, and so nice of the guy to take the time to show you around the distillery.
We my pleasure to show Ruth around 😁 She was very kind to share our whisky with our large clan of subscribers 🤩
日本の離島以上に鄙びた地域ですね。バンライフを楽しむカップルと知り合い、勤め先のウイスキー蒸留所を紹介され良い旅でした。🐱
Your best video so far!
Wow, thanks!
ルーシーさん、シヨータさん🎉wonderful🎉
I must say, this video is superb. This is professional grade touring guide that would take tens of thousands of pounds to make by a production company. I've always wanted to go tour the Ardnamuchan.
Truly grateful for your efforts in bringing this video to me.
Take care, hope to see you in another video soon. 👍🏴
Ardnamurchan is the torchbearer of Scotch whisky… QUALITY
🥃🥃

I Love going to the West coast, it is Stunning! Great again Ruth.
Thanks so much!
Really enjoyed watching this, went there 10yrs ago and it was lovely, forgot about Sanna beach , what a place
It’s so beautiful 😍
Such a beautiful area to hike and enjoy the scenery
One of your best yet Ruth...fascinating tour of the Ardnarmurchan distillery and this stunning peninsula...I really must try that dram!
You should try it 🥃😆 thank you so much!
We agree, buy some Ardnamurchan 😄😄
Ruth Attenborough. You are incredible. Your channel is an informative & educational joy. Your content is remarkable and far succeeds the BBC. Surely you have a backup location production crew in the spare bedroom? Me & my dad absolutely love your videos.
Thank you so much Gordon, that is so nice of you to say! Haha no back up production crew! 😂
Just started watching your videos. Brilliant. I would love to get a camper van and travel. Loved your video on the distillery.
Thanks and welcome!!
- and we have sailed past the lighthouse there at least 4 times over the years. a joyful and peaceful video. thanks!
Wonderful drive and beaches.
I could stay there forever 😊
Loved the tour of the distillery and Callum is so cute and loves making fine whiskey 😘🌴🤠
Glad you like his tour 😁🥃
Absolutely brilliant video. Same again please.
Thank you Ruth, that area is beautiful. And the distillery, well, have to try the whiskey.
We are lucky to live in such a beautiful place 👍

This is my favourite video so far, i remember spending a lovely time at Ardnamurchan many years ago.....i think 25 mph is just right for those single track roads, Ruth...I love you....
