Bro, when I bought my mirage new I give myself a challenge to drive it for 10 years. my mirage juste turn 10 year old and I give myself the challenge a new challenge, to drive it to the ground. Watching that video makes me feel I may never buys an other car, this little thing is going to drive « me » to the ground. Thanks for sharing the aventure with us.

Awesome, I have been on the fence about installing or posting to ebay some NOS vintage Delta fog lights I picked up for $7. Definitely going on my Mirage now!

It's also good to have some insight as to what modifications may need done when fording streams and rivers. Fuel tank venting relocate, snorkel, maybe a transmission vent extension. And lots of dielectric grease on everything, inside and out!

It’s still my daily. I haven’t gotten around to replacing the flooded charcoal canister and airbag module yet…and the interior is still partially gutted. Other than that, it’s mint!

The first American drivers guide from the 1910s said to bring waterproof shoes because whenever you came across a flooded road (which was fairly often since the road network was primitive) you have to get out and check the depth of the water yourself before driving across.
And anyway you would need some clothes and boots that you can get dirty in case you needed to get dirty trying to unstick your car from the mud, etc. (since a lot of roads were still dirt and would turn to mud in the rain)

And depending which states you're driving through, some areas have no hotels so you'd have to carry camping gear and get the good camping spots before other travelers took them. So you're kinda doing an old fashioned road trip experience except I'm guessing those old cars had more ground clearance and tougher suspension

It may have been later like 1920s, not 1910s but it was certainly before the robust interstate system.

The closest village to us was about 30 miles away. The area is usually pretty popular but there was a fire and ohv ban on when we headed out, it was lifted while we were out there but had no idea cause there's no cell service or radio stations out there.
We planned to be camping anyways. Were supposed to be exploring the area for a few days but it turned into getting the car running again so I could drive it 4hrs back home.

This is kinda like the video game my summer car or the long drive where you have to get the car running with limited resources. Well the long drive is nowhere as sophisticated as real life but I think in that game if you don't have coolant, you have to find something to add so it doesn't overheat. Things like that.

How did I not realize you posted this video until now? I've seen some mirages in weird situations but I think this has topped my list of what I've seen.

It sure didn’t look that deep, even in the daylight.

The green light isn’t for low temp it’s for when your engine is cold 😅
