    I hadn't even considered a Mirage as most "reviewers" say the Mirage is a penalty box on wheels and shohuld be avoided at all costs. I had a new 04 Aveo sedan that we all loved and that's what they said about them too! I'm a pretty nig guy( 6'1". 250lb plus) would it be confortable on the interstate? I need a NEW car and was looking at Crosstrek for awhile now and it's the darling of the Media! I test drove a slightly used Limited a years or so ago, but when I heard they were making the Wilderness I decided to wait. NOW they are so popular they are out of my price range. I like the Trax , but that motor idk about. worries me. I like Mitsu always have. I'd like to buy 20k or less new. Anyone have -any input? -I'm getting a little long in the tooth at almost 58 and have back back, ssciatica etc...need something with easy ingress, egress, good MPG and a comfortable seatin gposition for a guy my size in the interstate! I looked at a Rally Cross suv but I thought it too high at 31k since my budget is 20k or under really :) I'm going to be traversing Illinois=DC-Tampa once or twice a year so need to be dcent on the interstate. tyhx

    I have one of these, 5sp manual, almost same age as this one too. Only 78,000 km so far. V good economy, I get around 5.4 litres per 100km around city driving. Sub 5 when it's continuous and doesnt involve hills but not the mosr refined car to drive and weak as cats piss on the hills. V pleased to see that with regular maintenance, the engine will last a good while. Which is surprising as Mitsis dont have the best reputation for longevity. Thanks for sharing.

    Was the higher mileage engine ran at higher rpms than the other? I have a 2020 manual Mirage, and at 70 mph the car is at 3600 rpm or so. I would expect the more frequent combustion and hotter temps would help keep carbon build up down. Is your high mileage car a manual?

    • @turdpailsandtrails
      @turdpailsandtrails 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      All the Mirages in my videos had cvts. Most are fleet(delivery cars) so a lot of them were beat on while others weren’t so much. They rev lower at highway speeds than the 5speeds.

      @@turdpailsandtrails That's neat, thanks for the reply. Are you the same guy on the forums that has a fleet of 30 or so? I'm pretty envious of the lower gear ratio of the CVT, though I appreciate the extended service interval for the manual.

    I have two thanks. I believe the valve guides are extremely worn out so the valves are bouncing around. Second thing would be this is a super low horsepower motor. So you're not going to get the wear and tear that you would with something with twice the horsepower even at twice the horsepower is still not a lot of horsepower but still at 78 you're not pounding the engine I constantly mashing it to get up to speed just something to think about I'm about halfway through this video and that's my prediction on the noise

      Used just 0w20 on these fleet Mirages. Used Mobil 1 for the first year or so then started using bulk Klondike oil from a truck that pumped from questionably clean tanks/hoses. Different markets/climates seem To spec different oil viscosities for these cars. I changed oil typically every 6000km.

    hey there friend allready did swap 2 and i taught it is my evaporator turns out after 2nd motor i swapped burned that it is some chaep ass motor rotating on the opposite side i guess would work fine if you are from UK and your Steering is to the right since it is the same outlet as yours may i ask the brand and also in your case does the motor rotate it anticlockwise because thoose cheap ones i bought rotate clockwise meaning pushing the air not the correct way even the fan have arrow showing that it should spin anticlockwise .. meaning taking air from above and pushing it left to the coil ... while now in my case it rotated to the right (Clockwise) Pushing the air not inside the coil ... been painfull 2-3 years without A/C Even Cleaned the Evaporatoir coil really good and on touch it is ice cold .. Am i going crazy what should be the right way of rotation of the fan ? Quick tip on the left of the part where your end of the A/C outlet is entering this plastic Hole (Leading to the evaporator core ) U can remove the screws and the cover and clear the Evap Core very easy . Also if you got issues with it leaking u can remove it without removing the dash .Stay safe friend.

      Here’s a link to the motor I used A-Premium HVAC Blower Motor with... www.amazon.ca/dp/B07XM4W3M2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share It seemed to work but might not last long being lower grade chinesium. The dealer quoted over $600 cause they only sold the motor with the housing. This wasn’t my vehicle and I might not see it again so I can’t look and see which way it rotated but it was working properly and blowing air out the vents. I’m in Canada which is left hand drive.
