    Your color sense is ridiculously amazing. I would never have put together the colors you did in your crochet cardigan and yet it is absolute perfection!
    I was just telling my spinning friend I wish we could hire you to go through our handspun stashes of single skeins and help turn them into something magical.

    Yay! More handspun from you 😊! The combo spin is so beautiful and I wouldn’t have thought of putting these 3 colours together, how fascinating! Love love love your Jethro and oh my the little rainbow 🌈 hoodie is the best! 🤩 So sad you ran out of yellow for your Traveller hoodie, but you are so creative and are coming with a really fun idea to finish it 👌

      Same same!! I really wasn't sure it would work. The mint had me doubting, however, amazing results! It's a new way to strategize about color and I am so looking forward to playing with this concept some more! ❤️❤️❤️

    Good luck with your Traveler Hoodie, i really like that yellow! Your idea of the stripe down the arm sounds fun. I'm looking forward to seeing what you end up doing. My Traveler Hoodie is my favorite knit to wear.

    Shannon, Love the crochet cardigan. What fabulous work you did on it, makes me want to attempt to make one. It’s also incredible to see what you are accomplishing with your hand spun. How exciting to challenge yourself and see the accomplishments take place. I am not a spinner yet I do enjoy hearing about it and learning. I have a friend who spins and she does share with our knit group so we get to touch and drool. How wonderful to have your family take time to travel and spend the 4th together. And you had a chance to have your granddaughter there! How do your cats handle those crazy times? My cat retreats to hiding under the bed. Haha
    Happy summer Shannon!

      Thank you so much!! I'm looking forward to wearing it! Spinning is its own thing that can really take over your life!
      My cats are pretty chill about others entering their space. My older guy is friendly and will greet everyone, but the younger dude is more skittish, even though generally he's bolder. He will duck under the bed for about 5 minutes, then come out an explore people and their scents ❤️❤️❤️

    Your Jethro is great! What a perfect way to play with color. I enjoyed watching as you chose what you were going to use. When I was a newer knitter, I bought skeins somewhat randomly, usually because they were on sale, but with no project in mind. Those skeins are all about 1-2 short of a sweater quantity, the only thing I feel like knitting these days. I’ve changed my buying strategy since then and just view it as a lesson learned!

      @whiskyandwool  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you!! Yes, this! I've changed what I want to knit and the stash no longer matches what I want to make. Also, so much of what I have I got through discounted mystery sales, or clubs where you don't know what you'll get. Fun, but not always the best way to spend $$! ❤️❤️❤️

    Thank you for this episode it has gotten me through a large pile of ironing on a really wet miserable day weather wise. I think the introduction of your speckled yarn in the hoodie is really nice. It may turn out to be a very happy accident. I love your Jethro and I’m seriously considering making it. I’m a relatively new to crochet (well it’s almost a year) and granny squares are my comfort zone. Although I would have to purchase some yarn I have rather a lot of Dk random balls that may work. I’m not a spinner but have been watching the closing stages of the tour each day as it’s heavily televised here . I’m working on socks I’ve almost finished my feldspar tee I just need the weather to improve to have any chance of wearing a linen top I’m definitely ready for some new cast ons.

      @whiskyandwool  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Amazing!! Yes, I agree and am hoping for a happy accident, lol!
      Thank you!! The Jethro is a fun make! Highly recommend! You'd probably just need enough of the same color for connecting the squares, sleeves, and trim. Your scraps would likely get the squares done, if you like them together. Tanis gives all the yarn quants in the pattern. I've enjoyed the highlights from the TDF! Enjoy your projects!! ❤️❤️❤️

    Beautiful handspun yarn !!! ❤❤❤
    I am presently working on a small rectangular shawl using a white synthetic mohair like yarn. I am happy to see it leave my moderate stash. Fortunately , I only have 3x25g (±820m) to work with. I have chosen the Old Shale stitch pattern and I am using 7.0mm needles to create very open lace motifs.

    • @whiskyandwool

    I hate to do this to you, but I would use your combo spin in your Traveller. On my tv the color would work great with the yellow yellow. Your spinning is an inspiration and giving me Tour de Fleece fomo. Maybe next year I’ll make it a goal to work through my fiber stash.

    I love your Jethro! After seeing so many makers' projects that I love I finally started making squares for my own. I'm using all yarn scraps for the squares and something from stash for the main color but I haven't picked yet. I'm wondering how you like the length, I may do an extra row to make it longer. You've inspired me to stash dive for a combo spin. I've done one before but now seems like a good time for another!

    • @whiskyandwool
      @whiskyandwool  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you!! I love the length! I also thought I’d want it longer but it covers my butt and that’s about as long as I like. My squares were about 1/2” larger than called for. Combo spins are so fun!! I love blending the colors with plying. ❤️❤️❤️

    I'm a newer knitter and would love to have a few things in stash to play around with but prefer to purchase as I make. But do you have any golden dark mustard colors? I'm looking for a sweater quantity for my daughter that can be washed not have to be dried. But if not neutrals and blues or greens? Sock yarn to practice on too?

    • @whiskyandwool
      @whiskyandwool  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No mustard color anymore. I just used it up in the Jethro. You can check out my Ravelry destash page. There's a few things that might interest you, although mostly deep reds and purples as I have learned these are my least favorite colors to work with. It's nearly all sock yarn! If you see a single skein in my regular stash, feel free to ask about it! ❤️❤️❤️
