Always enjoy your smile, Shannon, thank you! When I transitioned to my natural grey, it took me quite a few back and forth attempts over probably 2-3 years when I thought, "I'm not ready for this much grey," and then my hairdresser would patiently try something else until finally I just went for it and decided that it was all too high maintenance and let's just go au naturel! And yes, my clothing color choices had to adjust as well, but it does just take time and you'll get there! It's fun to see you pick up new things and somehow also finish the older WIPS. I find I just have to retire some pieces for a time so that I don't rush through too quickly and not make a good job of it, all because I'm thinking of the next thing I'm dying to try!
Omg, that's going to be me, lol! My stylist is very patient as well thankfully! Thanks so much for your kind appreciation!! 😍❤️❤️❤️
I’m so glad I found your podcast. You have given been a couple of great ideas for my knitting! Thank you.
Me, too!! You are so welcome!❤❤❤
Thank you my sweet friend for the shout out! Love this plan for your hair color - definitely a subtle shift! Well done on the shower partition. So much easier to maintain and looks streamlined. Of course the knits 💕💕💕🧶🧶🧶
You are so welcome!! Thank you too!! 😍❤️❤️❤️
I love seeing your knits and your progress on your home, but oh my gosh, those cats! ❤❤❤
Thank you!!! 😻❤️❤️❤️
This was really lovely. Adorable cats! Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Thank you! You too! 😍❤️❤️
Your Milton sweater is beautiful. I like your color choices. I like seeing your hand spun yarn become a project. I never tried spinning yarn but I’m certainly inspired to try. Your daughter’s sweater is beautiful .
Thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Shannon! that concept for your hair is what i have been doing for about 9 years now and i love it. My gray is blended with what was my natural color. it got rid of that line that some folks get when the gray starts to grow out and frankly i think it looks pretty civilized - growing old gracefully... kind of :)
Thanks for sharing!! I figure if it doesn't look right I can always go back! 😍❤️❤️
I just found your podcast and I appreciate how you talk about the yarn you use, the "hiccups" or ingenuity of a pattern, and everything else.
I stopped dying my brown hair in 2020. I thought at my age I would have more gray or white hair... 😊
❤❤❤
Aww, thanks! And thanks fro sharing your gray hair experience! 😍❤️
I loved seeing all your projects especially your granddaughter’s sweater. You have such an interesting range of projects . I think your hair is lovely. I decided to stop getting my hair dyed when I turned 60 I’m over a year in and although my hair is lighter it’s slow going. I’m getting my hair trimmed every 7 weeks to keep it smart . My dad had lovely silver hair in his 50s guess I’ve got mums salt and pepper colour instead You have done so much to your home in what is really a short space of time.
Aww, thanks so much!! And thanks for sharing your gray hair progress!! ❤❤❤
Hi Shannon! I love the Rumble Tee that you are working on and discovered the pattern in your last episode; yours is just beautiful. I am currently working on a cotton/wool cardigan for my daughter (who is a HS English teacher in Massachusetts) that I gifted to her for Christmas, but, the button band is driving me nuts! I'm traveling next weekend to do some yarn shopping with my daughter-she found a warehouse with overstocked yarn cones and hopefully I can find something unique and different there! She has fallen in love with knitting recently working on a pair of gloves while overseeing her school play and all of the teachers were knitting. Great video!
Oh that’s so cool!! It’s so fun watching someone else fall in love with the craft! ❤️❤️❤️
The image of your Stripey Unicorn sweater in the thumbnail for your vlog really caught my eye, first, because of the color combination and, second, because of the cap sleeves and lovely frill at the bottom. Imagine my surprise to learn that it's not intended to have the frill or the cap sleeves! I think it's absolutely a knockout just the way it is, but I would totally understand if you chose to correct it. Your color sense is to be admired and all your makes were delightful!
Oh thank you!! That's one way to embrace the challenges of this pattern as you certainly could make it short sleeves and emphasis the frill! As I write this the sweater is blocking. I'm curious to see how it looks. Stay tuned! 😍❤️❤️❤️
I am so in love with your Rumble Raglan. I’m working on the Partner Pullover by the same designer right now (the squiggle version) and that pattern has a motif that is similar to the rumble raglan colorwork. Your colors in this version are so inspiring to me. I can’t wait to see the final product, your handspun is gorgeous
Thanks so much!! Oh, interesting!! Me, too!! 😍❤️❤️
I love your hair! Think it looks great! Grey is hard! I have the same type of skin, and I just can't envision being grey. Someday. Love your projects. Nice having your podcast today. It's true about Instagram. I have to search for my friends. - All the best, Kimberly
Thank you!!! My Grandmother had my same coloring and she dyed her hair blond until she was in her late 70s. Who knows? I may go back but I’m excited to see what happens! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow. Love the variety. Such unusual projects. Will add this to my list. Not as talented as you but love a challenge.
Aww, thanks!! Keep at it and you’ll improve!! 😍❤️❤️
I like that the patterns you have chosen are "of the beaten track" . I love the idea of using the single skeins in that pullover, it looks great so far! FYI Isager is pronounced 'Is-ay-er". Oh I see you pronounced it correctly later. Knitting has brought such an wonderful awareness of other cultures and languages to us!
Thank you so much! Yes totally agree!! 😍❤️❤️
That ribbing flare is an absolute mystery. I’m stumped too! The sweater is so beautiful that I hope you find a workable solution.
I hope so too!! Thank you!! 😍❤️❤️
I need to continue to color my hair because the gray is coming in just around the crown and top of my head. i would look silly with a brown patch at the back of my head. haha Thanks for keeping me company!
Interesting! I am so curious where the gray is on me. I know it's on the top but not the back, but I think the top strands would cascade down? It's a work in progress! 😍❤️❤️
Hi Shannon, ❤ your hair! You look great, I noticed your hair immediately! Makes me think I should do something with my blonde hair, which has darken over the years! Have you seen the latest Pom Pom, and last☹️, it’s so good! And your rumble raglan is beautiful,😻 love your colour choices!
Thanks so much!! It’s nice to make a change. Ooo, I meant to check it out!! Do you recommend it? ❤️❤️❤️
@@whiskyandwool I do, I think you would 🥰 it, it’s very modern, graphic! I love the coverlet sweater, and bought yarn for the pants and sweater set,I might be too old, and it’s way beyond my skill level, but I found the yarn called for for 15$ a skein, local to me, so I thought why not😀
I'm wearing my Stripy Unicorn watching this, and I had a lot of trouble with the short rows at the top as well. I think there was an error in the pattern. It is cute when done though and I love your colors!
So glad I'm not alone with that! I do think the finished sweater will be very wearable. it looks adorable on Joji! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh and please talk more about your perspective on seams and structure. Is it a wooly myth? 😉
Ok! I’ll work that in next time! Might be a myth! 😜
The only thing I can think of why your ribbing is flaring is that the darker blue section is made when the yarn thinned a bit. Maybe going down 2 sizes didn't counteract the thin yarn. I probably wouldn't wait to block but take the blue section out and see if that makes a difference.
Good point!! That’s the plan! 😍❤️❤️
hi - shannon - where do you get your linen t's? love them.
o wow - your second 'rumble' looks like a gustav klimt painting. beautiful.
and your rainbow 'milton'! yummy - all projects so fun and interesting to look at and i'm sure to work on.
my kitty boyo does that pose too - the corkscrew. weird. it must stretch out their back muscles or something like that. cheers! libby
I’ve gotten them from J. Crew for years. They’re well priced when you catch a sale! Thanks so much!! Yes that cat pose, lol!! 😍❤️❤️
Downward 🐈!
😻❤️❤️
