A delightful podcast! If this is what minimal editing looks like, it’s perfection! There is a real sweetness to your natural spontaneity. It feels authentic. And your Oslo recap was fun! Especially that floating sauna! Love it ❤
Thank you very much! I definitely filmed less takes. Embracing the mistakes.
Your lovely grey yarn might make a cropped vest that would look cute over the white blouse you're wearing! Such a fun travel vlog!
I adore the idea of a super cropped vest. I'm toying with this idea and a shrug or mini shawl....!
Hi! I haven't been on TH-cam for a bit and am just catching up. So nice to see your trip to Norway. Love it. Yay, I'm so glad you went for it and experienced the floating sauna! And I didn't mention the tripping hazards on the opera house! For all their wonderful design, you'd think those could have been avoided... on to part 2 :)
Yay!! So glad you're here and catching-up. Yes, Oslo was awesome and the sauna was a super memorable experience. Norway is a stunning country and I can't wait to return.
Made me laugh hearing your story about the baby. As an Amican who was lucky enough to live in Oslo for two years, and my youngest son was born there remember going to a cafe with a group of other mothers where we left our babies in their carriages outside right in a row. I was nervous but none of the Norwegian mom’s thought anything of it. Love your recap. Oslo is so wonderful!
This is a wonderful thing! I felt a confident, calm from the locals. It was lovely!
Thank you so much for sharing your trip and tricks. 🙏 I love spontaneous podcasts, imperfection is so so welcome.
You're too sweet! Thank you for your feedback. So happy you've joined along!
Thank you for all the information on Norway. We are planning a trip there as well. We went to Finland and Denmark over Xmas last year and loved it. Beautiful countries 😊
That sounds like an amazing Christmas! Wishing you many happy travels.
Thank you for sharing all the yarn stores and places you visited in Oslo! ❤
Can’t wait to visit, you inspired me!😊
I'm so happy you've enjoyed it. I love to hear that you've been inspired- either by the knitting or the travel. Both fun activities. Enjoy!
The Sophie shawl would be nice for the storm yarn you have!
What a great pairing of yarn and pattern. Thank you!
Your recount of Norway is very informative. Thank you.
I'm so happy you've enjoyed it!
Thank you for a lovely description of Oslo, my hometown. So glad you had a nice trip to Norway.
Oslo is a stunning city! I loved every moment of it and the Love of My Life and I have already starting discussing a return one day!
I love Norway. I've been to Oslo and Stavanger but not Bergen - that will be my next goal: to get to Bergen, along with a trip to Scotland
I do too! Your travel ideas sound lovely!
The king and queen live in the royal palace 😊 The sauna craze started maybe five years ago. It is not very traditional in Oslo 😂 No no, the church is from the 1200s, but was moved to Oslo in the 1800s. Thank you so much for loving my city ❤
Thank you very much for sharing. I found conflicting information regarding the dates of the church. I appreciate your help! Thank you. I had such a beautiful time!
So fun to see your video; I’m an educator from Vancouver and am actually in Oslo right now! I bought yarn for my last project at Fru Kvist and loved the experience. Also, Tim Wendelboe… the Geisha coffee was quite amazing. Also, my baby granddaughter sleeps outside in her stroller; what a great culture!
This sounds lovely! What a gorgeous county. I love that you're enjoying your time in Oslo. Happiest knitting!
I absolutely love visiting with you! I’m a retired English teacher and so I totally understand how much time that takes! Your podcasts are so entertaining and natural!! Keep on keeping on and done stop! Best wishes in your new academic year! Sending hugs…❤ Angela
What a lovely message. Thank you, Angela. I'm so happy you've joined in along the yarny adventures.
Complete agree, live podcast is great. I can’t imagine the time it takes to edit. Thank you for a wonderful visit to Oslo. The yarn shops, wow! You may be aware, there is a great yarn shop in Vancouver Wet Coast Wools and she sells Hillesvag, well worth checking out. Your yarn purchases look divine. Thx for another great podcast.
Thank you very much for your feedback. I love to make informed decisions moving forward. I have heard that Wet Coast Wools carries some Hillesvag....so once I run out of my yarn purchased from Norway, I know where to go!
Loving this uncut chat! I'm so glad you're giving it a go, it's so nice and natural. I hope it also helps lighten your load :)
You're too kind! Thank you. I embracing the tongue ties and waxing on, as I do!
Wow! Loved this inspirational podcast. Thank you Jennifer!
I'm so happy you've joined along!
Great video! If this is a minimally edited video, I would keep on with this format. Totally delightful and spontaneous, love it! Cant wait for Part Two.
Love the feedback. Thank you very much!
Can't wait to hear more about your trip! Norway is on my travel list
It is such a beautiful country and I can't wait to explore further!
That was awesome! Can't wait for the next episode. No need to edit. Kim
This is awesome! Thanks, Kim!
Hello from Norway❤Loved to hear about your trip to our capital City. I'm glad you had a fabulus time and the weather was kind with you🌞I love your podcast ❤and I look forward to see episode 2 of your visit to my country 😊
I had such an incredible time in Norway! Such a beautiful country. I'm excited to share about the other cities we've visited.
I chuckle every time you say "the love of my life." My friend, Barb, was in a serious relationship, but not yet engaged or married. She told me she didn't want to call him "boyfriend", being in her 40's. She thought it sounded too juvenile. But she couldn't think how else she could refer to him. I suggested she call him "the love of her life," since that was what he was to her She loved it, so that was how she referred to him. So every time I hear you say that, I think of Barb. I think it's so sweet.
What a lovely story. Thank you for sharing. I feel exactly like your friend Barb. It’s a mature partnership!
So fun to hear your thoughts about Oslo. It is one of my favorite cities.😊I spent a semester there as an exchange student in my early 20s and am impatiently waiting for the new Museum of the Viking Age to open!
Oh my! This sounds wonderful! Yes, I must return and an anticipating a magical visit to the Viking Museum!
Hey, I've been to Heiman Husflid in Oslo: an amazing store, containing all you would need to create traditional Norwegian costumes: worn by the Norwegians in celebration of their National Holiday in May.
It is an amazing store! I love the traditional clothing they carry. They are so beautiful!
Thanks for the video. I will be waiting for the next one to hear everything about hillesvåg...I am also dreaming about visiting the Hillesvåg mill one day🥰
It was fabbbbbbbulous! I can't wait to share about it all!
Loving your podcast on Oslo and looking forward to part 2. Many of your points (spoken English, babies sleeping outside around the year, summer singalongs, alcohol prices, walkable cities, political philosophy) apply to the rest of the Nordic countries as well.
Kudos on the sauna experience!
Thank you very much! I loved the feel of the city and the people! What a beautiful place.
Icelandair has the perfect route, Toronto-Keflavik-Oslo 😊🇨🇦🇮🇸🇳🇴 Love your podcast 🧶
That is a great flight option. For next time! Thank you very much.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for sharing your norway- adventures! Maybe the Storm- skeins are enough for a nice rustic vest?
Thank you very much! I do love the idea of a vest.
Super informative and enjoyable today. Wow what a trip you had. I have always wanted to travel to this Country. I have not researched all about it ( in terms of feasibility)… sadly I can not make it as yarn is what would be a focus of mine. Learned lots here. I thank you! Looking of course to second chapter. Btw can you still gain a “stamp” from this country to provide you the availability to get the rebate? I so hope so. 25% is a good chunk of change. Thank you again!
Yarn is a great focus to have. Yes, part two is coming. Thank you!!
Maybe you could make a Friend to Friend shrug by Leslie Friend from your rustic black and white marled wool. It would be gorgeous!
I so love the idea of a shrug!
I really wanted to go to garntopia but didn’t make it there. I did visit Frau Kvist, and two other yarn shops outside of Oslo. Did you make it to the library across from the opera house? It is incredible.
The yarn shops are stunning with tons of gorgeous samples and super friendly staff. I didn't make it to the library. So many beautiful buildings!
20 mins in - I suggest a cowl with the special yarn from Oslo!
That could be super cute!
The Storm yarn could make a vest or maybe mittens and a hat?
I love all of these ideas! A vest could be a push with the quantity of yarn I have, but that would be my first choice.
Your prices for beer and wine are high compared to us in Peterborough Ontario. We can get a beer for 5 dollars and a glass of wine for 6.
I'm hopping on the Go Train and coming by for cocktail hour! Toronto's prices are a little bonkers.
@pairswellwithknitting let me know when you do and we can meet up for one.
