Excellent! As Karyn said, people often think they are being empathetic, when really they are being judgmental. Often a loved ones to a person who is chronically ill will ask "why" they cannot do this or that, because they want to decide for themselves if the reasons are legitimate or valid enough to warrant their friend or family member's limitations.
Let's try practicing true empathy by stepping down from the judgment seat and as Karyn teaches, "stepping into each other's shoes!"
