    Great video and great workmanship. Funny how everyone freaks out drilling a hole but gladly cut the whole roof of. 😊

      Haha thanks mate, yeah there is no shortage of holes through this thing 😂 and roof is gone lol. Such a versatile vehicle now though it’s great.

    G’Day, have been looking at that tank and the long ranger tank, one 90l and the other 50l. I just freshly respayed my Troopy and when done I mirror image the factory fuel filler on the left hand side for water and power, so it looks factory, I hate drilling holes in the vehicle too. I was just a little concerned with the small bracketing use to hold your tank. I would have thought they would have been longer down the side and even around the tank for support. Looks like it could crack easily with all that weight? Love your vids👍

    • @hookin
      @hookin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Chris, that sounds like a cool idea replicating the factory filler for opposing side. Nice work. I think the brackets would be more than capable mate. These guys are not new to this game and do fuel tanks etc. Time will tell with the longevity and will be happy to talk about any pro’s and con’s down the track 😊 thanks for the positive feedback, I really appreciate it. Cheers Hook In 🎣

    How'd mate, love your video.
    How pickup my 90 lt LR tank , for install.
    Did you have trouble with disconnecting handbrake, which end did you un do.
    Mine has soild crimps everywhere

    • @hookin

      Hey mate, I unpinned it from each brake assembly and passed the whole cable assembly through the tank. I remember it being fiddly when I tackled it. (Bit vague on it now) I think I may have had to bend the bracket that supports the cable in the centre of the diff to remove the bracket off the cable assembly. As the bracket wouldn’t pass through the tank tube when the wire was fitted.
      I hope this makes sense mate, if not DM me on Insta and I’ll try and help further. ( will be able to send photos etc on there if required)
      Appreciate you watching the vids mate and feedback.

      @@markdoyle3762 ohh good luck mate, but scary bit lol. Sounds like it’s coming together though 👌🏽 let me know how you go with your track correction and thoughts, i may look into it when I get back. Toyota had it painted for me mate when I picked it up. They didn’t want to fit it being the gxl so I fitted it when it got home 👌🏽 sandy top, black underside

    Hey mate, no dramas with the tank after a year? Has it taken any hits on the tracks?

    • @hookin
      @hookin  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi mate, nah I haven’t had any problems with it. I don’t religiously do gnarly tracks with this thing but gave it a fair bit on my trip around aus. So far so good 🤞🏽

    Did you have to go with the $2500 torquit exhaust to make it fit?

    • @hookin
      @hookin  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Didn’t have to mate, could’ve just cut the muffler out and put a straight pipe in 🤷🏽
      But it’s good quality and off the shelf dpf back which was compatible with tank, so made sense for me

  • @reerendzunderwear1011

    G,Day love your videos. Just about to start our own build. I am installing a Torqit exhaust (same as yours). Can you confirm that it doesn't interfere with the 90 litre tank installation in anyway? I am told the stock exhaust has to be moved/adjusted. Cheers Stuart

    • @hookin
      @hookin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi mate, thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it!
      The Torqit system doesn’t interfere at all. The standard muffler is quite large so some room is needed for the water tank to fit. So it’s either modify the standard muffler to create the room or change the whole system. So you should have no problems mate. I hope the install goes well and good luck with the build 👍🏼

    I just checked their website and the one you have seems to be 50L. The 90L looks very long. Could you confirm whether it is a 90L. Do you have a direct link the the tank that you have? Their website is very confusing. Great job on the instal though :)

    • @hookin
      @hookin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate, it’s definitely 90L. The 90L water tank is NOT on their website. It is a custom order you need to contact them directly by phone or use one of their suppliers on their website. They also do not ship to residential addresses, so I had to use TJM Hunter Valley to order the tank through so they would deliver to TJM and I picked it up from TJM. Thanks for the positive feedback mate and I hope this info helps 👍🏼

    you dont need to drill your main body like this, I have same water tank and no need to drill such massive hole on the body, check our website water tank post if you read my post and saw how I used OEM vent hatch for the water filler you would never drill your main body like this.

    • @hookin
      @hookin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your thoughts mate, I’m glad to hear that you have opted for a different point of entry for your fill point. I bought a 70 series as a blank canvas, for me to make my own. This is where I wanted to install my fill point as my OEM vent will have other options in there.

    • @amirandazadeh
      @amirandazadeh ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hookin If you planned for the big hole that's different but even long-range should consider the vent location for its users, I see most people even without using their vent they do the big drill too only because in the long-range box they see this instruction.
