what did you use to machine it? Is there a shop that could do that if it has to be perfect? Sorry just considering doing this because a couple more miles per hour would make a huge difference for me. What amount would you have machined off? And what are you machining? I'm sorry for the cluelessness...just trying to learn a little at a time
With a higher gear, the max speed might be higher, but does that not cost the same amount of acceleration? I ask, cause i live in a big city ( Sao Paulo), barley drive max speed, but use full throttle at every red light turns green... So, my question would be if the more in max speed goes on cost of acceleration... did you experience something like that? More or less what you said at min 8.00. And if i would place the small ring after the first plate, i mean i would not put it on the screw before, like you did, but after i pot the big plate on. Kinda like between the two plates, where the belt runs, can i make the space bigger and gain acceleration by running the belt in a lower area?? Thanks Btw... I already learned how to change oil and the air filter with your vids! All got a big fat "Thumps up"!! :)
Jonny Bravo Yes there is a lost in acceleration with gains in top speed, but as I noted in the comment section that I don't recommend this mod any more cause the belt touches the pinion gear.As for increase in acceleration the gearing is as low as it can go stock. The belt actually touches the drive boss so it can't go any lower then that. What you can do for more acceleration is use lighter roller weights. Here in the USA, stock is 13g you can go with 12g and get more acceleration....you might lose a little top speed, won't know until you try.
You mentioned earlier that you no longer recommend partzilla. Which supplier do you recommend for parts? I'm looking to buy some roller weights and a belt soon.
My elite currently reaches a max of about 48 mph on the dash. Are there any quick fixes that can help reach the 55 mph mark (the speed you had before this mod)?
What milage? Sounds like your drive is worn. New belt and rollers will get it close to stock 53mph. To get to 55mph without his mod you'll just have to use a larger rear tire, I'm running a 4.0"x10" Bridgestone ML16.
Jonathan Bravo Yeah it is about time to change them. You can always tell when it is time for drive parts to be replace by loss of top speed. Currently I get my OEM parts from PartZilla

Nick Schmidt you'll need a lathe

Jonathan Bravo yeah partszilla is total rip off, sends damage stuff and blames customer. Now I use dealercostparts
Hi. The crankshaft bolt how much I tighten it ?
Will this mod work on a honda ruckus?
The Ruckus has plenty of aftermarket parts so go with an aftermarket variator. As my comment says, I don't recommend this mod at all.
Would a wider belt work?
maybe 1mm might

DaBinChe Thank you for your reply. I'm at 11,600 miles. Do you think it's time to change these parts out? Also, where can I order these parts from?
Jonathan Bravo Yeah it is about time to change them. You can always tell when it is time for drive parts to be replace by loss of top speed. Currently I get my OEM parts from PartZilla
DaBinChe Thanks for the advice. And great videos! They've certainly helped me a lot.
DaBinChe I now don't recommend using PartZilla or any associated subsidy of OutDoorNetWork.com because they have horrible service and lack integrity
Try Multivar 2000 / Malossi. You’ll have 20km/h more.
No, there is only so much power that can push a certain amount of speed. Something isn't gonna magically give you more speed/power.
DaBinChe ...but I did it already with Multivar and it works. You don’t need to believe me. Greetings
DaBinChe I changed the original variator with Malossi Multivar 2000, white spring and 8,4gr vario weight. So now I have max speed 100km/h
DaBinChe sure the “something “ is less weight from vario rolls
Did your gas milage take a hit?
Are you still getting 107mpg?
read comment above
Dude that fuckin washer is not 76 thousandths of an inch
Too much work for like 5 mph lol just get some dr pulley sliders
