We get it guys, Pentaya looks like Seedrake. Everybody and their mama has thought of making a Dragon Fruit Dragon. While I’ve seen other Dragon Fruit fakemon, I’ve never seen Seedrake from Loomian Legacy, until I received 100+ comments in this video. Hopefully you enjoy my interpretation of this common trope. Real talk, im disappointed that the flying type fakemon isn't based off of a Roc, like its literally a giant mythical bird of prey.

Not every psuedo legendary needs to prove a powerful force of nature by being a Dragon type. I remember that Mikey (MandJTV) did a whole video on Pokémon up to Gen 8 that should’ve been psuedo legendary. Aggron and Electivire were the first candidates that popped into mind as non-Dragon psuedos. But if you still love Dragon-type psuedos, I agree that Flygon and Haxorus should’ve been (nothing wrong with Salamence, Metagross and Hydreigon, but we could’ve had more…)
As a kid, I remember playing Ruby for the first time and having an aggron on the team, it took a lot of effort raising it from an aron and I used to think it was a pseudo, I still love the guy and it deserved a mega but its a shame that it won't get as much love due to it not being a pseudo
My whole thing is the hypocrisy.
People complain badly whenever a Pokemon is Fire/Fighting, but we've only had four Fire/Fighting Pokemon in existance. Three of which were Starters of Generations 3, 4 and 5, and the fourth being a rare alternate variant of a regional form that will be gone forever come the next game. In other words, the typing is barely ever used. And when it is used, it's on a Pokemon that's well-loved and awesome.
We have, like, six to seven Psuedo Legendaries that are all the exact same. "Big fucking Dragon". Only two aren't Dragon types but one of those two is still a Dragon but just without the type. Can we have more Psuedos like Metagross where the Psuedo wasn't yet another fucking Dragon?
I'm not saying they're bad, Goodra, Dracopult and Garchomp are cool as shit, but it's just tiresome when EVERY Psuedo Legendary is just another Dragon.
Furthermore, as nice as it is for the Frigibax line to be an actually good Ice type, it has the same body plan as Godzilla, and is even more overtly based off of Godzilla. This makes that line follow the Dragon trend and comparable to Tyranitar. There are more body plans and typings to suggest a pseudolegendary’s power.
I agree, so tired of all the pseudos being dragon. Like pick something else, give other types some love already.
Ya mean Salamence and hydreigon? Because Metagross is NOT draconic at all. It’s steel and psychic type and a robot.
I got so much inspiration out of this one m8!!! Absolutely floored by the direction of some of these artists, and that one ice type pseudo "yebarian" blew me away in particular.
Also love how you got a chance to fill out some lesser pseudo legendaries and am really proud you went with a red heavy palette for a grass type instead of green lmao
That Thrashendo line is super sick too, both designwise and building out the musical connection with the nose flutes and even the whole aspect of a musician in its stages of life. Really well done!

I always wanted more Pseudo legendaries that weren’t Dragon types. We had Tyranitar and Metagross but they were in Gens 2 and 3 (Gen 3 also had Salamence which was a Dragon type).
Out of these fan designs, Mishibogwe, the Flying/Ground type, Pentaya and Meteoco are my favorites, and the other designs are really good and creative!
Honestly, Ron, I am so happy to be a Patron of yours because every time you post a new Fakemon art video, your latest creations outdo the ones from your previous video. Every time I think I’ve got a new favorite Fakemon from you, you hand me three new ones!
I absolutely love Thrashendo! A pokémon based on musical instruments was sth I wished for a design before, and you incorporating woodwinds/reeds was a spectacular choice!

I love the Thrashendo line! Can imagine finding a cute Probogy on a forest route which ends up completely defining all expectations of an ordinary Normal type once the power of its final evolution is reached!
Has anyone noticed The Dragonfruit dragon looks similar to Loomian legacy’s I know this wasn’t intentional but I can kinda see the semblance but anyways the art and designs are so vibrant fun and creative can’t wait to see more

Fun fact I only learned recently: Dragon fruit/pitaya come from a species of Selenicereus, a species of cacti with beautiful and very fragrant night blooming flowers called Queen of the Night or night blooming cereus (they were featured in Crazy Rich Asians). That could be a fun thing to add to your pseudolegendary's lore.
This is a wonderful video! I normally am not a huge fan of videos that feature other people's Fakemon (mostly because I want to hear about design process and that doesn't tend to happen) but I appreciate hearing your thoughts on each line and what you think made them successful! I always appreciate your thoughts on design philosophy!!
I've actually been working on a Pseudo-Legendary evolution line myself. Its primary typing is Poison, and it gains the Steel typing as it evolves. The base form is named Stakelet, the middle is Rattlfence, and the final stage is Feralance. In case you couldn't tell, it is a snake pokemon with a weapon on its tail that changes as it evolves. It starts with a wooden stake, then has a fencing blade, and finally, it ends with a lance. It gains armor, along with the Steel type, once it evolves into Rattlfence, then becomes a full-on Snake Knight as Feralance. I based the pokemon off of a highly venomous snake species called the Fer de Lance. I still have yet to draw them, but everything else is complete.

Think I'd give Pentaya as my favourite from this, but it is honestly an incredible video, giving all sorts of design concepts across the board and featuring plenty of ideas and artists. Loved watching this, and while current pseudo legendaries are excellent, certainly could wonder for a bit more variety.

Both of your pseudos are really well made and I have a hard time deciding which one I would go with. But since I rarely use Pokemon with only one typing I'd probably choose Pentaya. The redish color reminds me a bit of Wurmple too, one of my favorite Pokemon ^.^

It's great that people are branching out to more unique types! right now in my head, i'm thinking of a fire/steel pseudo-legendary line that naming convention goes from seconds, to minutes, to finally hours.

I also think druddigon could've been a dragon fruit. Its shiny version looks like the cactus that grows the fruit with its head as the yellow variety of pitaya

Would love to see you do a video on mythical creatures as pokemon.
E.g. minotaur, medusa, kappa, Fenris, empousa, etc (though I do know that soke of these have been loosely adapted but there are multiple kitsune lines for example).
One I've experimented with is making a poison or poison-ground Serpopard pokemon which goes from 1 to 2 to 3 heads.

I have a grass fighting type fakemon that uses thick branch clubs on it to send enemies to the stratosphere.

hi, Truegreen7! I really like your dragon fruit pokemon! Also, I've eaten dragon fruit, I don't think it's sour really, more of a bit subtle, but maybe there are sourer ones I haven't tasted. also, Thrashendo was a really unexpected evolution. and I think the dragon poison cat mon was based on the Tatzelwyrm, a dragon cat from mythology. :)
I'm not sure about some of the stat distributions.
It's been a while, but I remember seeing a fire pseudo line based on aquatic mammals.
First was a beaver that dammed up lava tubes.
Middle was like a porpoise that plays in volcanoes that tends to start small eruptions when it's playing.
Final stage was a magma whale. It kinda burrows into the magma, and it makes small islands when it breaches to the surface.
I don't remember if it was fire ground or another typing.

The moment I saw your Pitaya Dragonfruit themed Pokemon/Fakemon, the first character that popped in my head was Pitaya Dragon Cookie from the Cookie Run Franchise! ^^
This is more like a smaller version of PDC, but still retains it's awesomeness, power and strength!

The region I’m working on has a grass/dragon pseudo line with the final evolution being based on a Frilled Dragon. Grass/dragon is my favourite type combo and Frilled Dragons are my favourite Reptile.
This gave me the idea of a Pseudo based on an anthropomorphized version of Puerto Rican vejigante masks and base the evolution line on how the masks can get more involved and fierce
Thrashendo, I am not kidding. You might be my new favorite fake Pokémon on the Internet, hands-down. First of all, I have a huge love for all things primate I have for most of my life it’s why I chose ifernape, and for two, I have an incredibly strong love for music as well. It’s running my dad side of the family for generations, so taking those 2 conventions. And merging them into one powerful majestic masterpiece of a monkey. It’s perfect. Such amazing work.
If you would like some lore Ron, then I would suggest that in your region that Thrashendo and Toxtricity often have turf wars/fights to mimick how people debate rock/punk vs Classical music

Wondertrade received Laissure prevo first time playing Uranium, one of the best in Uranium and yeah its design is sick. At first using it i wished it was ground/fairy but its odd design gives it an insane movepool so that is the balancing for it. Play rough, earthquake, head smash and recover with mixing it up with Megahorn, Poison Fang and Iron Head
That ghost/ice one is amazing!
My favorite design choices are the ones where the middle stage evolution is given the most love, or just 2 stage evolutions. Like teddiursa into ursurang
This is unrelated to your video, but my second favorite Pokémon is Turtonator and the one thing stopping it from going to first is that clown face. Its inspiration (mata mata turtle) is my favorite animal, and I would love to see a more quadrupedal ground type one. I just wish that they made the face better! Thank you for making these videos
Gotta say, one of my favorite fakemon pseudos is the cockatrice from Birdkeeper Toby's fakemon region. Just looks badass
The whole Pityke line is giving me Pitaya Dragon cookie (from the Cookie run franchise) vibes
In my fakemon whatchamacallits i used type combos with 4x weaknesses as an Achilles heel to balance their gnarly stats, like Tyranitar
This pokemon is based on the Passenger Pidgeon, a species of extinct bird from the north-eastern USA. The first evolution is a normal flying type pokemon., while the second is a ghost flying type. In terms of stats, it has low offenses, but is pretty good on the special side.
The first form is a plump little pidgeon called Pidgetter, with a letter tied around its neck. It intelligently seems to watch the opponent, and ocassionally reads the letter. When it evolves into Extidgeon when levelled past level 18 with a revive, the letter becomes torn, and its feathers become black, and you can see a translucent skeleton beneath its skin. When it levels past level 45 while holding a max revive, it evolves into Lazargeon. Lazargeon has a similar look to Extidgeon, except instead of appearing to be a skeletal bird, it is more zombie in appearance.

This Pokémon ignores Normal's immunity to ghost.
Can you try Ape Escape as Pokemon? I mean, the Pipo Monkeys are slightly like both Toxtricity and even Paldean Tauros. The "Signapes", what I like to call them, are simian individuals that have eye colors depending on the nature. While they have different types and breeds depending on what costume is based of. Such as Mummies, Pirates, Cowboys, Ninjas, and Astronauts. Lastly, it's shiny color of red, black, and white is gratefully based on Specter (AKA, the final boss of the entire Ape Escape franchise)
I made a Water/Electric Shark Pseudo Legendary awhile back based on the Megalodon

I loved your video turning Pokémon into legendary’s…some ideas I had for that was Nidoking and Queen, Steelix, Machamp I could see being an old man style Machamp fighting/dark, he’s missing an eye and maybe even missing an arm from all his battles, losing his arm is why he gained the dark type now having to resort to fighting dirty with attacks like bite and faint attack to keep up in battles

A pseudo line I've thought of, but haven't drawn, is a Ghost/Dark type based on the mythical Cerberus. It'd be a part of a region based on ancient mythologies and regions of Greece, Egypt, Persia, and Rome. It'd start as a single headed puppy, but as it evolves it gained a spectral head. However I'm afraid that's too similar to Hydreigon so I don't know....
I feel like the Pentaya line could also work as grass/flying starters while also working as a pseudo great job
You should make pokemon based on youtubers like mrbeast could be related to meowth and be electric fairy.

I've been working on a region myself, based on Canada and we have two pseudo legendaries, a Hyena and a Moose. The Hyena is your standard Fire/Dark while the Moose is Ground/Fighting
God I wish I had this level or artistic skills, I have so many ideas for Pokémon I’d love to bring to life. I’ve even come up with my own bug/steel pseudo legendary line. Isovocal, Choirstacean, and Trilopera, which is based on a woodlouse and the opera house of Sydney. The line begins with Isovocal, a timid bipedal louse adorned with a disproportionally large exoskeleton which vaguely matches the shape of the opera house. It then evolves into Choirstacean, taking in more of the woodlouse look and now has its entire body on the floor, it large exoskeleton is now shaped almost identically to the opera house. It finally evolves into Trilopera (for non-awkward sounding name purposes, I’d pronounce it try-loe-pair-ah). With a thick body and standing on to legs, it’s posture is similar to that of a Nidoking. The exoskeleton is now massive and still retains the shape of the opera house. It has sharp but tough claws and a formidable metal horn on top of its head. At night time, Trilopera lights up the area with it’s incredible bioluminescent properties. It has a signature move called ‘Opera’. This move boosts Trilopera’s special attack and causes the attract effect on the opposing Pokémon, regardless of its gender. It uses vibration generated by its antenna to create its harmonic sounds. The Isovocal line can learn sing, disarming voice and other vocal based moves.
To me, it does sound a little overpowered so I came up with the ability ‘Cowardice’. In its 1st and 2nd evolution, this Pokémon is meant to be timid and afraid. However, when it evolves it gains a boost in confidence with its new found strength. Despite this, it’s still afraid when faced with a Pokémon that has the potential to hurt it. That’s why the ability ‘Cowardice’ harshly lowers the defence of Isopera when the opposing Pokémon can use moves which are super effective against it. So probably best to fight this guy with a fire mon.
The dragon fruit line is a great concept.

I'm making my own region and I've used phanpy given it new evolutions. It's final form is based of the Oliphaunt from LOTR and is a pseudo legendary ground/Fighting type. I also gave lapras a pre evolution and an evolution that is pseudo legendary.
