Wow… Thanks, you read my mind. I am in the dragon fruit growing. And I don’t have a clue how to start building the trellis

Thank you Cindy! It was quite a challenging project for us but we enjoy the result. You can do it, too! 🌵

Nice construction. They definitely need to be super sturdy. I would have built an in ground structure just as solid as yours.

There is a very good seller from California on Tropical Fruit Forum, his name is Spaugh.

Your trellises will support your DF … they get heavy … you dig good not using wood in the ground …
Not sure how you’re planning on attaching the DF growth to your 4x4 … you’re going to discover your trellises are too high … no more than 5 feet high … when your plants mature your not going to be able to reach pollinating the flowers and harvesting the fruit without using a ladder … when the growth starts growing straight up over the top … I suggest you use some weight (large 2” flat washers) attached to some cloth strips … you just tie one overhand knot around a branch and gradually let the weight of the washer drape the growth downward … train your plants … May I suggest viewing … Kim Phan Dragon Fruit … site on TH-cam … she has some of the better DF tasting and larger fruit varieties…

Thank you, they have grown a lot since that time we made the video. They grew down after reaching the top so for now we could reach the flowers. Thanks for the suggestion video, will check out. We actually have a whole new setup to make in our Costa Rica farm these coming months, with many new varieties.
