    A mans true power lies in his power to look fear in the eyes and defeat it. There is no better feeling than the feeling of conquering your fears. Its worth every inch.

      Disagree. It takes courage to conform at times.
      As an example, it takes courage to conform to societal rules. It’s easier to run from responsibilities, rather than face them.
      The issue I have with this comment, is it reframes non-conformist behaviour as courage. Lots of non-conformist behaviour is actively shunning responsibility, or simply attention seeking or anti-social behaviour, repackaged as being “courageous”

      Is it easier to buckle down for 25 years or to ditch and go and enjoy yourself?
      Responsibility is hard.
      In terms of viewpoint, I agree. It’s easier to conform to accepted views than to challenge, but the statement suggests shunning responsibilities is an act of courage. It’s hard to own your shyt.

    My grandfather has served 52 years in the Indian Army, and he once told me the following :
    There are 4 things which a COURAGEOUS person has in abundance :
    1. SELF BELIEF
    2. RESILIENCE
    3. MOTIVATION ( goals )
    4. NO FEAR OF FAILURE
    ( or death )
    If you ever meet a courageous person or ever become one , you will notice that the eyes of a courageous person is always shimmering, it's not because of the rage but innate desire to seek and overcome obstacles, for self or for humanity.
    A courageous person is hooked to challenges and that's what keeps his courage to burn on forever !

    Courage requires you to have faith in the unknown. Even with courage there are no guarantees. But with courage you stack the odds in your favour.

    • @mator2339
      @mator2339 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It won't. The faith is the assumption that it will. And we assume such things as a distraction. The distraction and the lies helps us face the situation. A rational analysis will always be pessimistic. You dont always hear the stories of thoes who showed courage, faced the enemy and died and it always is more often than not the case. You only hear stories of the ones who won. Grim reality and truth are always too much to bear so a distraction and lies become the necessity. The lies is what necessitates life. Life necessitates the lies.

    • @mator2339
      @mator2339 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @M Z you ain't wrong in saying that faith eliminates worry which will stack the odds in your favour. But faith in what ? If someone truly "believes" in nothing then he/she worries about nothing.
      My point isn't that though, my point was that faith like any other thing is a distraction like worrying is. And that distraction is necessary. It isn't the truth but it is necessary. Its basically convenience.

    • @AuthenticSelfGrowth
      @AuthenticSelfGrowth 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The secret to experiencing moments of happiness and fulfillment in life is freedom and the price for freedom is having the courage to act in moments of crisis, the courage to speak the truth in the face of injustice, and the courage to stand up for the noble values that serve you and the ones around you.
    When the pressure of your times will challenge everything you stand for, will you be able to stand and fight for what is right or will you crumble in a corner, crippled by fears and doubts?

      Not being afraid isn't part of courage. Courage is when you're afraid but fear isn't commanding you. Your heart beats and your muscles are tenser than steel. Even standing up is a challenge, as if the ground pulls you down with force of a thousand men. But you still take the steps towards the lion. Knowing full well it may end in your demise.. But lo and behold, you won and realize the lion was only a lion in your mind but a dog in reality.

      R O in your logical realm you understand time differently! There is no division of this sequence of existence but rather one combined inseparable solitude stretch! Meaning I disregard your statement that he took forever! See, for instance, If you believe in God and see how he answers back the prayers of men then you would understand this rare type of a writer that he was an author who took nothing at all to release a book! He would release a book! Simple!

    5:08 Buddha: "Courage means that we dare to see reality for what it is & transform our fear & suffering into a path to awakening.". That's the real courage & best definition for me.

    When I have fear, as a follower of Stoicism, what I've found is that I can actually eliminate it completely if I temporarily imagine/pretend that I am someone else entirely, to whom fear is something that is below me.

    Dealing with the day to day rigors of slogging it out as a member of "the herd" takes strength and some courage as well. Sometimes being a strong "individualist" is taking the easy way out.
    These ideas of Nietzche and Camus were revolutionary and appropriate in their time, but in our era of hyper-individualism and irresponsibility, we should temper them with a rediscovery of and renewed appreciation for the challenges and courage that are involved in making it as a member of the so called "herd"!
    Accepting and meeting the resposibilities that come with our place in "the herd" is essential to healing ourselves and our society.

      Agreed. By Nietzche and Camus’ definition, a serial killer is a virtuous person. This is something even my individualist-leaning self will never accept.

    theres always someone, somewhere going through something worst than you. I was abused until i was 13, and I watched my cousin get shot in front of me. My junior year of high school, i had 22 D1 scholarships and I ended up having 3 concussions in one year. All my scholarships were taken away because of the concussion syndrome. My future was stripped away from me and i ended up turning to drugs and alcohol. A year after i graduated I ended up getting in a bad motorcycle accident and watched one of my friends die in front of me. Life was definitely getting the best of me and i wanted to end it. I was cleared from concussions and made i professional arena football team after everything ive been through. After i left my home and moved to south carolina it really hurt me when the coach said the season was over and he couldnt afford to pay us. I had to figure out a way to get back to florida with no money. I eventually made it home and stayed with my mom for about 4 months and one day i came home and all my clothes were packed and she kicked me out. luckily i met the girl of my dreams riding bulls at the rodeo and moved in with her. Everything has been getting better for me ever since and i started my own business as a life coach. No moatter what you go through in life get up everyday and be thankful for your life because theres always someone going through worst.

    Very nice video, the story of diogenes n alexander is one of my fav. You shouldve mentioned the 2nd dialogue between them. After asking alexander to move aside, Alexanders ego was hurt but thought he should try something a little bit different so praised Diogenes for his indifference and said if he wasnt born as alexander the great he would wish to be born as diogenes. Diogenes said "if I was alexander the great, I too would wish to be born as Diogenes" 🤣. The first celebrity roast in history.

    Man,years of over overthinking and trying to play out moves or scenarios ahead of time, is hard to unlearn,I’m trying hard to get out of a negative loop,and the way things were/are on the streets and unlearn past now automatic behaviours,frm a kid especially whenever people or loved ones in your life automatically go to a way of thinking about something you say, an how u might have acted in the past, 😱
    Some times it’s easier to be angry an frustrated but I never took easy route don’t want to live that way,but I’m a obsessive over thinker an can sense and pick up the energy of a mouse in a bad mood behind my pipes in the room, no joke!’ sometimes ignorance is bliss!!
    But could be worse I suppose!! I enjoy your vids pal keep er lit 🔥 👍

    Being a gulf war and Somalia marine and later a soldier in operation Iraqi freedom I now feel I have no purpose in life, I have warrior skills that I can no longer use! I do have PTSD but it's more on the lines of missing the brotherhood of the military!I definitely don't miss war! I wish for peace through out the world!I feel out of place with normal every day people because I can't identify with them! I hate that isolation feeling! I just need to find my purpose! I have no fear but loneliness!
