This video could use an example of the bad results pre-breaking in a trowel and the results you get after... Thanks for the great vids. Watched a few of them and put a few notes to good use as well. Cheers!
alternatively, lay a sheet of wet n dry fine on a flat surface and do the edges flat including head and toe. Don't get carried away and check the edge regularly. Then a slight angle on the edge to finish.
I went for the nela gold flex 2. It's mint straight out of the box with rounded corners & lovely grip. Works wonders for a newbie like Me on uneven walls. Use it for the wet trowel & last run over 👍🏻
Have you looked at the new nela max plastic trowels? They are stiffer than most plastic on the market. Got the 16" one, puts a great finish on the wall.
Hi, just discovered you great videos. Can I ask about preparing the cirners on a new trowel? I appreciate this one in particular doesnt need any work on the corners, but video on sorting corners on a new trowel would be great. No one else seems to have done one
We use to scrape the corners on concrete floors and sand them down after to round them off. However, it's quite extreme so beware that it's not for the faint hearted. I don't want you damaging you trowel from my advice 😂
@@PlasteringForBeginners Apologies for the delay in responding, I've been busy putting your advice into practice. I understand, thanks for the guidance. My problem is getting lines in the plaster from the corners of the trowel. Any guidance on how to avoid this would be welcome. Thanks in advajce and please keep the videos coming. Rgds P.
Hi Blaine, Dave here, just signed up for your course last week. I have used 320 grit on my new superflex. Would you advise doing anything to the corners on my new Marshalltown gold permashape? I have received about 5 emails off the course so far and it's really informative. Many thanks, Dave.
Hi Dave! No that's perfect pal - don't round the edges, just sand the edges of the Trowel to take the rough grain. Thanks for signing up and I'm glad you're finding it useful. Thanks pal 👍
Might seem silly but would u do this with the plastic blade of the plaziflex ? Also do u know if its possible to use the same plaziflex handle and change the blade from a 14inch to a 18 or 20 inch by just buying new blade and not a whole new trowel ? Cheers mate
so if this is all you have to do how come you pay all that money for a trowel and superflex cant be arsed to spend 4 minutes longer to make it ready to use
Great video, hard for novice like me to know if all good to go when new so thanks for that. So would process be identical for stiffer trowels or they need a lot more work?
Hi mate! No the Refina Superflex is a Trowel designed for your final finishing Trowel. I use it on my final / penultimate Trowel over. It's too flexible to lay on with - possibly leaves ripples in your plaster. Hope this helps pal 👍
cant tell you how valuable this information is thank you
Thankyou so much I used it straight away and was wondering why I got some lines left over
