Ive been plastering for over 40 years and have often looked at so called tutorial videos and they always over complicate things and must be very confusing for beginners, yours are the best I've watched, well done

I’m a year into the trowels now and spent a lot of time on TH-cam watching all the different channels and you are by far the best in my opinion only recently found you and I’ve learnt more from your channel in that time than any other, please keep the videos up mate 👍

Brilliant that Kirk it will help a lot of lads who are self taught as myself well I went to college and got my c&g but that didn’t teach me shite so I got on a council contract patching which was ideal but it wasn’t till I partnered up with another plasterer5 years later till he put me rite on few things tiger stripes was one of them and yes I was putting on 2 thick splashing my flatten and too sharp an angle on trowel too early but ay m8 your fine detail in these videos is what other channels are missing so thx m8 for the effort your putting in on top of a hard days graft it’s appreciated from a lot of spreads and especially newbies who are gonna get a head start on this channel 👍

Wish I'd of seen this video today before I started work but funnily enough I did your tip with cross hatching the brush just by chance tbh and it definitely works, come out alright in the end too 👌 had to put it on a bit thick on this one and as a result played with it too much and used water too early, I wont be making the same mistake next time 🤣🤣🤣 top vid mate 💯🎯

A couple more and I will pick up on your curious use and pronunciation of the English language. Just teasing you Kirk. Get some longer tee shirts to work in. Some might say that your lower belly and butt crack are TMI. Not me but some might.
Tiger stripes two different sets in one batch of plaster,adding plaster 15 minutes after the original mix. The first mix sets on the wall before the second then you are fighting to get the second set down to the first mix. When you mix a gauge don’t stop until your happy with the consistency and all the set is of the same timing.Scratch on as good as laying in layin as good as first trowel.
Kirk thanks you do some very informative vids that explain the knowledge of spreading cheers,as a bricky that’s had a go in the past and found it stressful learning as you go knowing all the tips and tricks is very useful 👍
I’ve seen loads of guys putting one thick coat on leaving pick up then hitting it with the sponge float,one coat wonders,what’s your thoughts on this Kirk🤔,great channel and brilliantly explained it’s like being onsite with you. Keep them coming

I actually enjoyed this video very much....listening to the hop up saying please lose some weight....creaking like a good'un.....beneath you ....Mine does it, but then at 20stone I know why....and most hop ups have a 90 or 100 Kilo weight limit ...and at 127 Kilo's....well... I have to search for 150 Kilo hop ups....and after a time even they give up....ha... I often wonder how many 20 stone plasterers are out there....Ha ...Ha..
3 mill on 1st coat , 1 mill on top coat .. on uneven walls . Basically top coat a touch thinner than 1st coat 👍👍👍 A few 50 meter screed floors sorts a new trowel out too 👍👍great vid pal
Hey, to be honest I just do whatever I feel on the day, most plasterers do ceilings first because they don't want to drop plaster all over finished walls but u don't really drop any so I just decide what I feel like plastering when I turn up
I feel your pain when it comes to skimming in tight places mate. I’m built like a proper man, not like those skinny jean wearing, long cable leaving pansy sparks. 6ft and 20 stone 💪🏼

You’re sponging in theory you’re equalising the suction Doesn’t matter if you have a worn trowel etc or not No one knows where tigers come from same as bubbles

Can also be down to bad multi/ thistle as well, if ya see them appearing go opposite way with trowel to take them out.

I like using sound block boards. Only because they are solid. So much more dense than a normal board but it wouldn't hurt to use a standard 12.5 mm

Dry if you want no suction at all, tacky if your in a rush to get finished
