Bought one and have had it a week now. It has not disappointed. If anyone is on the fence, don't be. The TV is amazing with HDR content and Gaming. I don't even see any processing problems in SDR and I;'ve had plenty of Fony's in the past...

3/1/24 Got an "Exceptional" S89C for $1324. Perfect box, everything sealed. Film still on the screen and sides. Full warranty. If you're near Charlotte the BB service center there has loads of them for that price. Well worth the trip. There are probably other service centers around the country. Box dimensions are 74"x46"x7" so make sure you can transport it.

@@neo4102 It's in that weird transition period where there's dwindling stock as everything transitions to 2024 models. It's still a great TV though. Watch a few guides on tuning it. There's a reddit sub for it, but if you read around enough you'll get there. You can use the S90C tuning guides.
Guys I bought this TV last week and did a lot of research on what was the best OLED TV to buy in my price range which was $2000 to $2700. For the price at $1799 and size of 77inch, this TV is an absolute monster and I dare anyone to name me a TV in that pricing range and size that is better. The answer is there isn't one!! Oh but Samsung doesn't have Dolby Vision, oh but Samsung has Tizen operating system , oh but Samsung isn't good processing SDR. Guys Dolby Vision is overrated, and in my opinion on content that supports it, looks washed out and too dark. HDR10 works just fine and in most cases better than DV. Tizen works great. No issues, and if you just don't like Tizen, buy an Apple TV box. Lastly, SDR content is very good with this TV. Haven't had one instance where I thought, boy this TV is garbage with SDR.

@@JBlakeS23 I think the G3 is the only TV that really come close, but it’s $1500 more than the S89. I do think the S89/S90 are the best gaming TVs on the market
@@trewright1482 I don’t think it’s close at all. The G3 in game mode is terrible, can’t see anything and there’s no color vibrancy.
I am not able to find filmmaker picture mode on s89c. Did anyone figure out how to enable that? There are only two modes available: optimized and eyecomfort.
@@rojerwatersify go to the different picture modes. You have Standard, Eco, Movie and Film maker also dynamic or vivid.
Just bought this tv a few days ago. Got it set up tonight!! MIND BLOWING! Old movies like Jurassic Park, "pop right off the screen". The old cartoon 101 Dalmatians, from like the 50's is crazy!! Never lay this TV down flat. It always needs to be upright and the box it comes in is designed to unbox it without laying it down.

I had already pulled the trigger on a TCL QM8 85'' that was set to get delivered later this week and when I saw the price drop on the S89C 77" OLED I ran to Best Buy to have them trade me out. Same price, and I am losing a bit of screen size but going to get my first OLED!

Appreciate this video. Just had to pick out a new TV for my basement. I really wanted the Sony A95L, but a 77" TV fits better in my space and a $5,000 77" A95L was out of the question. After cashback bonuses my 77" S89C cost me about $1,600, or half of what a 65" A95L ($3,300) would've cost me. It simply doesn't make sense to spend double the price for a smaller TV with MAYBE 10% better picture quality.
I used to sell TVs and have done home theater as a hobby for a long time. This S89C deal is one of the best I've ever seen on a TV.

How'd you mod it, from the service menu? The Shield TV Pro is a great device, I had been using one on my LG C9 until it stopped working. Currently I'm running Chromecast with Google TVs throughout my house. I'm not holding my breath, but I'd love it if the rumored new Chromecast is a Pro model with AI upscaling.
I got this TV 6 weeks ago. It’s a solid TV. I don’t have it connected to the internet and use it with an Apple TV.
I’m curious have you compared the upscaling and processing of the TVs built in apps to using Apple TV instead? Does it improve on the TVs built in processing and look better with the Apple TV? I’ve read that the S89C doesn’t do very well with lower quality streaming and TH-cam so was curious if Apple TV would be a fix for this.
Bought the s89c in December, its an amazing tv, just get it. Dont look back, yah the u76n 100 inches for 2k is the only thing I would rather get then this tv right now. Both deals are the best deals ive ever seen.

Good morning KG and family. I had my eyes set on the 75" S90C for a good bit until I realized it would not be compatible with my TV stand (that has 15" depth). With no room to put a soundbar in front of the legs, I could not even put one directly on top of them thanks to the Samsung's SLOPING legs. Sadly, the same goes with the even cheaper S89C! The value goes out the door with additional purchases and effort for wall mounting or for a special VESA stand. I wanted a new TV for Super Bowl LVIII and for about $2000 out the door (my target budget), I had to go with a 75U8K AND Bose Smart 900, which I have been enjoying.
Note to Samsung: If those legs could be set apart or if they were even flat, I would have an S90C right now, and saving up for a good sound bar later (Samsung brand to match at that).

Went to Best Buy Saturday looking for a pair of blue tooth headphones. Left with an S89C for $1799 and no headphones. Couldn't believe the price, I just got lucky in the right place at the right time. It's awesome and brighter than my 65 inch S95B that is less than a year old and now for sale!

Just ordered this tv and I’m beyond excited. Been stuck with a 1080p thick led tv that’s decades old and now I’m going to have my first 4k panel let alone an oled. And considering the price I think this is gonna be one of the smartest investments I’ve ever made for myself for a long time.

Just bought this one today for 1,699. The caveat- it was there open box deal. It was rated as excellent. Never bought an open box tv before, so I’m nervous. But excited! Upgraded from a 55” TCL lol. Will be a nice little upgrade.

I was seriously about to buy either the 85 inch Q85 or the TCL Q8 in 85 as well. Research drew me to the S89C. I'm still a bit torn between 77 and 85 though, coming from a Costco entry level 65" UHD Samsung. I'm sure my decision is correct going with the S89C. Going on a finished basement wall, professionally hung blackout shades on every window, and a pretty bad ass sound Yamaha sound system with Klipsch R series Speakers and two 12" Klipsch subs. lol.

If 77 inch is the right size for you I don’t think there is a better bang for your buck assuming you’re not an avid sports viewer or running cable news all day long.
What stands out to me from upgrading from a 65 inch LED is the colors just pop off the screen and blacks are just super dark.
I had to turn down the brightness (50 is max. I turned it down to 25-35) it’s almost too bright at max.
Secured the bag! Finished our main floor renovation while ordering appliances BB rep was able to ship one to store new for $1650 and got an additional $50 BB certificate . We are thrilled- PQ is exceptional with this monster . While the 77" C4s, S90Ds and A80L/Bravia 8s all looked exceptional this tv really pops and more than holds it's own costing a $1K+ LESS. The difference I saved went to Sonos Arc and a pair of Era 100s to get my surround system started 😊

I bought mine on a Black Friday sale, the only problem I had was they didn't have one working on their display wall and of course didn't know anything about it except it was cheaper than the S90c. I Love it so far!! I if you can get it for $1799 I would get it again!
I got the deal this weekend, the guy from BB told me that another huge sale will be coming on April. I got an open box for $1,368 . It was returned because the customer didn’t know how to set the Filmmaker mod and was frustrated. I followed the instructions from this channel in the comments and I was able to set the tv properly. I'm planing to run the "mod s95c” thru the service menu and hopefully make it more brighter; I know the warranty could be avoided and the temperature will increase in the set’ I’ll post how the mod is working. Again: wait for the April sale

Just picked it up last night and looking forward to mounting in on the Livingroom wall. I saw the 65" at Costco, and the picture is amazing. When I saw the price for this one, I had to jump.

I have a 65" LG CX I bought a few years ago at launch that still causes me to pause and gasp at it's picture quality and I have to go back and replay what I'm watching. I knew when the time came to replace the other daily watched tv in our home it, too, would be and OLED. This tv looks to be incredible especially for that price point. My LG was $2300 so to get a bigger tv at a much lesser price has me thrilled! Can't wait until it's delivered and mounted! Thanks for the video! I initially had skipped over the 89 for the s90 or s95, but I would rather save some money and get the bigger screen too!
I bought this tv yesterday after months of doing my homework. I am the one who brought it to your attention that it might be QD-OLED. Took me a while to buy it But I finally pulled the trigger. So far so good. I upgraded from a 7 year old 55" LG OLED C6 poinless curved design with 3D that I only used a handfull of times. BIG upgrade.

@@Man_eee I may post some settings in the future but check out Classy Calibrations settings for the S90C they will work just fine.

Thanks ks for the great video! Any chance you could mention the best settings for overcoming some of the motion down falls with this TV? I'm coming from a C1, and s89C seems to studder around a lot.
I finally pulled the trigger on the S90C but I had EPP. The reasons you state are essentially why I decided to move forward. My 65" KS8000 is tired. I truly don't see the price going hardly any lower then the S89C.
I talked to Samsung today and they said the only difference is the stand and speaker codec as it will do 2.1.2 vs the 2.1 channel of the S90C

Just purchased this TV. Was going back and forth between this and the C3 but the price to performance of this one just kept pulling me back. Getting a QD-OLED with 2 year extended warranty for less than the C3 without a warranty was too enticing. Arrives in 2 days. Can’t wait!

My friends that have seen it couldn’t believe the low price for a quality OLED. Today one of my friends went to Best Buy to purchase the S89C and the price went up to $1,999. KG, I was looking at the Rtings article and it said that the Samsung S89c doesn't have DTS audio format? So what does that mean? Will movies or shows that have DTS format play thru an audio stereo system like a receiver via eArc connection with the Samsung 89c?
Two days ago, I picked up a brand new s90c 77” for the $1394 open box in fair condition at Best Buy. I arrived at the store, and the TV wouldn't turn on, so they gave me a brand new one for the same price. Thanks, Best Buy West Palm Beach.

Bought the S90C 77' for 1500 Eur after Cashback during BF, directly from Samsung. There was simply no other reasonable option out there at this price range. Wanted a QD-OLED so LG was out of the question, and Sony´s A95L was priced at 4400 Eur, almost 3x what I paid for the S90C, absolutely ridiculous.
I'm heading to Best Buy this morning to buy the S89C.
I agree re: similar sized LED and OLED, but for me personally, waiting to see prices and PQ on the upcoming 100" models.

Im considering the S90C here in my country, problem is the use case might not suit it as well for anime, movies, not much gaming. Considering Leds for colours and brightness. It's also hard to pass up one of the cleanest tv's you can find. Analysis paralysis. According to Samsung the S90C is still a gen 1 on the 55 inch so theres that issue too.
I gotta imagine the likelihood of 55” still being gen 1 panels has to be low at this point.

If i was going to get a Flexispot for this 77inch or a 65 inch S90c which size would it be? Or would it be something else? This is going in my room by the way.
Both would work and fit perfectly fine because they are central stand oriented

I got this TV and just note the build quality is not very good. Great looking picture though and an incredible price but there's a reason it's this cheap. Be careful when handling and I highly recommend having BB do the install. Once mounted or where you want, it becomes a non-issue. The s95 series and LG series both have fantastic build quality by comparison, so you do get what you pay for.

I just got a 65” S90C, and I have to say, I’d be terrified setting up a TV that has a potentially worse stand than this. I like the TV a lot but I can’t believe they make TVs that feel this fragile. (Not sure if worth noting but I got the Samsung rep to throw in 2 free years of Samsung Care Plus, and for some reason he took $160 off. Got the TV and Samsung Care for $1550 after tax)

I Just bought this tv last week. Cancelled a80l order. I Run an apple tv and firestick through older denon avr (3808) and cant get hdr broadcasts ,,adjsustments greyed out in settings. What am i doing wrong

Samsung… no. Plus 77” is too large for me, or should I say my GF, in our smaller living room. I am watching the G3 65” pricing but would like to know what is up coming to the A80 series from Sony and the G4 from LG. So sort of stuck in limbo😢😢
I'm between this S89C and a 55" S90C. About 2K OTD for the S89C or 1240 OTD for the 55". I'm really trying to get the smallest QD-OLED available, just more versatile, its in my living room without rearranging in weird ways. Works in the bedroom at that size. But the S89C is such a deal, and would be a great basement TV. It's kind of an annoying choice. 77" is just monstrous and maybe even too big for most people, hence the creation of this new S89C SKU.
Truth is 77s should be $1800 regularly, why not? And a 55" should be $1000. LG panels should be sub $1000 except MLA. That's where the market needs to go. Since I have an employee discount on the S90C, it may be smart to just wait for the S90D 55" and go for that. Get the 20% brightness boost and AI game mode.
How’s the upscaling on a cable box hd and sd? This is the one thing I see some talk about as a possible deal breaker for the s89c/s90c. I watch most tv and sports through my cable box, not streamed. Would I be better off with a Sony, as it seems they have superior processing and upscaling?

This is a grand slam hole in one for anyone looking for size value and quality. Bought myself a 65 s90c for the bedroom that I love best TV iv ever owned, onky to come across the s89c 77 for the same price as the 65" and couldn't beleive there wasn't some kind of mistake.

Thanks so much for this vid. Best buy employees were showing me open box s90s that were higher priced then this. Finally another best buy employee actually pointed this deal out to me but told me it was a LG panel.
Not liking the glare/shiny screen on the lgs. And how dim they were I decided not to get the s89.

Went back the next day and got to s89c. And blown away by the picture quality.
The brightness on this TV far exceeded my expectations. In fact I was wishing I could turn brightness down even farther than it can go lol. Great TV
Yeah unfortunately there is some misunderstanding by people that this is a LG display panel but that is not the case here in the US, it is however the case for the German variant of this TV from what I’ve heard.
Thinking about pulling the trigger as it seems like amazing value but I can't help thinking it is a second tier panel selection vs s90c (or something) as it makes no sense to sell it so cheaply if there isn't some compromise. Haven't been able to see a floor model but I have seen floor model s90c 77 and that is an absolute gem with fantastic build quality.

I’ve not found TVs near 2k or higher reliable. Since 2020 I’ve replaced 3 Sony oleds under warranty. My 77” A80J died, they sent me 77 A80L - bad horizontal strips OOTB, Best Buy let me swap it for the s89c (credit also bought 5yr + $300 in buy gift cards too)
I purchased a 2 year warranty with my S89C. After a 2 weeks with the TV I can say it is fantastic. I am not a huge gamer, but I dusted off my series x and this TV has got me playing games every night after the kids are down. Amazing gaming tv.
If your TV craps out after 12 months you going to be upset after spending $2000. If you read many customer reviews on any TV you will see a lot of issues. I highly recommend having insurance protection on any electronics. Oh yeah and surge protectors.

Are there any credible comparisons of side by side s89c 77 vs s90c 77. Rtings gave s89c a pretty low score on accuracy and I noticed a much more pronounced vignetting effect in one of the rtings photos of the s89c. No actual footage of the s89c 77 seems to exist.
What about vs a bigger 85 x90L

Had my heart set out for the Sony A95L, currently own the X900H from 2020 in 65inch. Been wanting to go OLED for a while now, but when I saw the price for 77 inch I really had to think about spending that much. Said the LG G3 was my next choice, but then I heard about the gaming issues. I Love Sony’s processing, but for 3k less in price! I’m going with the S89C which just went up to $2200, $100 less than the S90C, but who cares about the stand when you’re mounting anyway. 😮💨🔥

Thank you for this video! I've been unable to decide between 4 different oled models at 77in and really didn't know the differences. How much different are the LG 77 oleds?
There's a couple of LG 77in only 500 dollars more through best buy (including one in clearance) and it's really making the decision making difficult. It's an investment and I want to spend wisely!

Im in the market for a new tv in the 75"/77" range. Ive been trying to learn as i go, still have a lot to learn but am now leaning heavily towards the s89c. I think i can get passed the lack of DV, buy I've seen lots of complaints about upscaling/processing not being up to par with it's competitors. I tend to watch some lower resolution/lower bitrate content and that's causing my hesitation. Would the addition of an Nvidia Shield TV Pro or Apple TV 4K help with the complaints that many have with the upscaling/processing? Thanks in adance for any help/guidance.
If upscaling is your #1 priority, nothing beats Sony for the 2023 models. But Sony oleds charge a premium compared to Samsung. All depends on how much money you got burning a hole in your pocket.
Apple TV uses hdr10 and no DV anyway, so no loss there. I use Apple TV.

How is the S89C on upscaling? That's my only real concern. I stream with Direct TV Stream watch a lot of old movies.
The only SDR content I consume is Hulu and it works just fine for Hulu. This Tv is a monster on HDR content on Prime, Disney, Max, and other streaming services that offer HDR. Also this is the best TV on the market for gaming. If you are concerned about SDR I’d recommend buying an Apple TV box or NVidia box as they do upscaling with those boxes.
Upscaling is great on this TV no issues
LG is no longer an option for me. I use antenna and my area has next gen TV, i will not buy unless it has an ATSC3.0 tuner. The 89C has one maybe i grab one now.

Is there a difference between the s89c with geek squad & the s90c with Allstate from Costco? They come out to be the same, just curious as to which one is more worthwhile
Read the fine print on the Costco extended warranty. I purchased the S90C back in October from a different retailer because the Allstate/Costco warranty did not cover burn-in. Just something to be aware of/consider. I believe Geek Squad warranty does cover burn-in.

Most of them did until it was uncovered to be QD OLED by a Best Buy user review. I explained it in the video that mostly everyone thought it was W-OLED because specs said OLED EX for a Europe based model leak, but that model never came out.

Same reason Best Buy did the S94B which was the same as the S95B 😆 no idea why but they might just have exclusive deals direct with Samsung at a discounted rate which allows them to sell it cheaper.
Please help KG! It is in my cart right now and the only thing holding ne back is the lack of Dolby Vision! I have heard that with content that doesnt have DV it will somply just use HDR10, which is fine with me but I have been reading from other users that sometimes it does not make the image pop as it should becasue of the way a certain movies were mastered in HDR. I dont fully understand the technicalities but from what I gather, the TV may lower the light output incorrectly since HDR10 does not have dynamic tone mapping scene by scene, so it may detect maybe a movie that has higher output than it is technically able to output, lets say maybe a movie mastered at 2k nits or higher, and basically sets the overall output incorrectly for the whole movie making it a bit dimmer than it technically is capable of ouputing. Is this true, do you have nay experiencing with this while you used it. Hope you can shed some light on this so i can pull the trigger on it!
I understand the concern but do not overthink it too much, Dolby Vision and HDR 10 produce close to identical looking results most of the time, you won’t miss out on any HDR impact because you don’t have DV that’s just not an issue I wouldn’t worry about that.
You’ll never notice. Note many DV especially newer will send HDR10+ also. Streaming content especially. Only experts can tell and they aren’t impressed - marginal differences.
