The NSS is located on the transmission, nothing to do with the steering column on that car. The three-way Molex connector at the bottom of the column described is for cornering lights on a C-body. Indicates you have a later replacement T/S switch, the connector is to be ignored. The two wires at the radio connector are black and red with a tracer originally, if the connector is cut off and the two wires are not reconnected, you will not have power to the T/S flasher. The factory wiring diagram show this clearly. Lastly, Appears the big block is a transplant, the correct radiator config for that year is lower hose on the driver’s side and upper on the passenger’s side. The pictured installed radiator is likely for a small block.

Appreciate all the information. You are correct. It's a 1975-77 440 with a 727 transmission. I did get the radio wires reconnected, and all works with flashers now. A NSS isn't currently wired up or even possibly on the trans. I'll have to look further when I get under the car. I sent back the radiator and got a different one so ill be installing it soon.

@@ID10TGARAGE You will find the combination NSS/back-up light switch on the driver’s side, towards the rear and just above the pan. Three pin switch, center pin is the NSS. Goes to ground in Neutral and Park only. The two outer pins are the backup light switch connections, close together in reverse only. The center pin provides the ground for the primary side of the starter relay only in P and N. If it cranks in all gears now, the relay is grounded elsewhere.

it definitely cranks in gear and being an aftermarket shifter who knows what was done. Thanks again for all the info, i certainly would like to get that NSS hooked back up

@@ID10TGARAGE To be clear, the NSS is actuated internally, not dependent or connected/linked to any external shifter mechanism, factory or aftermarket.

@@72roadrunnergtx makes sense, sounds similar to the C4 Mustang NSS Switches. My guess its probably not hooked up if thats the case then

Not a clue. It's AI generated, and I just went with it. Maybe a AI mix breed
