As a pianist, my biggest struggle is trying to make one hand do something drastically different than the other simultaneously. I can’t even imagine how Spiff was able to play a bullet hell platformer with one hand while doing something else entirely with the other hand, somehow keeping track of what he was doing on both screens??? That’s talent
I think it's because most of the time on one of the games, he was just chilling, or doing something he didn't need to really look to do. I'm reminded of how I managed to play The World Ends with You: I focused on one screen to attack while I dodged or guarded on the other, switching whenever the puck got passed.
Honestly, the big things I give Post Shift 2 credit for are 1. They were ambitious and made relatively interesting concepts for the nights(even if they were executed a bit wonky) and 2. I really like the animatronic design
I also REALLY like the animation. When I was playing and first saw that plain looking Freddy (I don't remember the exact name of this Freddy) pop out of the hole in the floor, I was startled by just how nice the animation was. Most FNAF games and fangames are comprised of glorified still images aside from the jumpscares. Not a bad thing for sure, you don't need extensive animation to create a compelling FNAF fangame. But PS2 has a shit ton of very intricate animation. It's both a great and bad thing, as while most of the animation looks great, there's also TOO MUCH animation sometimes, like the head movements whenever your player character moves from place to place. I'm rambling hard at this point, but it's probably just because this FNAF fangame is so unique in both its achievements and pitfalls. Very cool.

I can’t edit the comment, so I’ll clarify that the cleaner balloon boy is also a Minater. Minaters are kept stable by moderating their memories, which is why most of them involve little memory minigames.
@@nottavros Unfortunately, not really... the only tidbits I have is that it's seemingly implied in the post-night house sections of part 1 that you are one-eye, but I'm not fully sure. MINATER is actually Micro-Implemented-neural-Activated-Transferrable-Energy-Rotors (I did have to google this, but knew it stood for something) I'm unsure who you play as in the night segments, but believe it MIGHT be Michael, who is also presumably your character in the 'Afton Adventure' minigame. Amalgabot in night 6 is the animatronic you were building in Part A. Drones are a commonly reocurring theme in the story, and (presumably) Michael uses a drone to spy on Freddy in an empty room through one of the 'Afton Adventure' endings if I recall correctly. The reason you're attacked by the Minaters if you fail the minigames in the first night of Part A is because the Minaters are already in neighboring rooms, but are being kept stable by positive memories (which is a reocurring theme among the Minaters). Night 5 MIGHT take place before Night 1, mostly based on animatronics appearing in Night 5 that have vague similarities to the Night 1 'Remnant' animatronics (ie. Chica in Night 5 being responsible for gas leaks, and then Remnant Chica having a gasmask) but this is more my own speculation as opposed to canon. I know immortality is somewhere in the mix of the story and has to do with Remnant in good ol' FNAF fashion, which has something to do with Revenent's End in Night 6 (who is the obligatory fanf fangame 'Mangle' antagonist as well as a mix of all Revenent, Minater, and Remnant animatronics) besides perhaps your character? Your character might be the missing piece to this project, based on one of Revenent End's lines being "Surrender yourself now, mortal, you are already too far gone". I could probably ramble about more, but that would be mostly speculation and theorizing at that point. I'm sure some lore gurus have already pieced things together if you're curious! I mostly speak from playthroughs I've watched and tidbits I've remembered. Seeing Spiff lambast the game like this is honestly super awesome, but the dev obviously put a lot of really hard work into the game, even if it ended up cluttered in the end...

Beat these all in a row and then and ONLY then you can say that you’ve beaten the Spiffious Allegations. Good luck Spigg
I like to imagine the night gaurd in post shift 2 is playing cuphead on his device to entertain himself during the long night and thats why its hard to play cuphead at the same time that you have to do things on the monitor in post shift.
1:25:18 as a Canadian I audibly gasped when I heard this, I mainly get the ice capp and whatnot but, I can't believe employees are getting THAT lazy, new workforce moment
I think an eye tracker would make this even more interesting, seeing what you’re looking at and where your attention is would make your dumb cuphead deaths less dumb. It would also illustrate your point as to how little attention ps2 needs.
This looks like Spiff is training to be an attack helicopter pilot. Heard stories their eyes could move independently when they need info from the HUD and from outside.
Unironically though, Cuphead is by no means a difficult game once you get used to the controls. Spam Charge and don't panic dodge like an idiot and it's free. That's not to say I could do it one-handed while also playing another game, mind you...
@@DrPonk i do agree that cuphead isn't that hard to beat normally but its also a very different genre of game for a lot of people, there's quite a barrier getting into it. a lot of the difficulty comes from optional stuff like expert mode or S ranking bosses though

I think I get Spiffs perspective on Post-Shift 2,he thinks it’s an unfair game that’s secretly very easy, but it tells too little and too much information at the same time and the animatronics do essentially the same thing and it feels like a waiting simulator.Due to the unfairness(overstimulation),that feeling doesn’t really come to mind when playing, but upon analysing the gameplay,it’s pretty obvious that it isn’t deep at all.
The 1.0 patch was also just had cases where it was impossible to win due to multiple spawns, which I'm guessing helped make people think it was the game being hard cause they didn't know it was that vs a skill issue.
Does anyone else notice a GIGANTIC overlap in both content and audience between Bones5, Spiff and Chickenninja? I was not expecting spiff and bones BOTH to go into cuphead suddenly when both was known for FNAF
TBH seeing all of this just kinda makes me more convinced that if PS2 had couple of additional passes to iron out the event stacking and improve the tutorial layout a bit people wouldn't have been nearly as baffled by it. Very impressive playthrough, Spiff!
"I suck at cuphead" What are you on about, I'd say you're better then most while multitasking. Plus you did beat the tutorial so I mean you're better then game journalists
For those interested as the video glossed over it, the issue with post shift 2 pre patch was never the complexity, but that the RNG could often make nights physically impossible if you happened to get unlucky, especially on later nights but it is true for all nights. So honestly props to Spiff for sticking it out through that.
the functionally unexplained and the RNG combine when RNG keeps causing issues its hard to reverse engineer the logic when the person invevibilty does not fully understand the explanation
My brain would've spontaneously combusted if I even tried to do that, so the fact Spiff just casually pumps 20 hours into doing this just amuses me to no end
Spiff I love your view on challenging. Most creators/people in general view RNG as difficult. But from what I can tell, you agree more with the fact it's just tedious.
Man got sick last time as ChickenNinia beat Pre-Patch and now he's taking it on while playing Cuphead for the first time. Here comes the tsunami of pain.
I really do appreciate you going into some form of detail in your explanation of how you're doing things, because I've literally never heard of SpecialK until now, and it honestly fixes my biggest gripe about games pausing if i click out of the window (i.e. to make clips and check other things) So thanks for not only an entertaining video, but also quite an informative one!
I like how he says he's bad at Cuphead but proceeds to beat bosses one handed, while playing another game, and having never played it before. I'm not even past the zeppelin boss and I've had the game for more than 3 years.
16:00 “I can like space out my eyes so I can see both” I’ve been able to do that (thanks to a certain dy/dx game) for years now and it’s super useful. Just being able to gather information from everywhere you see and respond to said info is so helpful.
I once played some Garfield Kart with my friends. In one of the races we did I immediately fell through the floor at the start, and then later I hit a wall in a tunnel so precisely that it tipped me on my side with my wheels touching the wall, but I couldn't actually move. Because technically I wasn't flipped over the game just left me there for a solid few minutes, allowing everyone to get at least 1 lap ahead of me before it reset me
Spiff can suffer from 'no game can challenge him anymore thus it bores him to exist' syndrome So he gives himself challenges or the games chances by handicapping himself An actual plotline for a lot of Anime or comic books when a character is just so overpowered
Amazing video Spiff!!! I feel like the game creators set out to make a very difficult and complicated game by adding on tons of features and not realizing that many of the features are useless. I used to code some games on Scratch and did the exact same thing. Sometimes when you put a ton of effort into adding something in it seems like it must be a groundbreaking feature when in fact it’s very simple from someone just playing the game.

I like to imagine the night gaurd in post shift 2 is playing cuphead on his device to entertain himself during the long night and thats why its hard to play cuphead at the same time that you have to do things on the monitor in post shift.

Cuphead is so easy. It's fun to see Spiff challenging himself by trying to beat a much harder game like Post-Shift 2 at the same time!

And I FULLY AGREE.
The 1.0 patch was also just had cases where it was impossible to win due to multiple spawns, which I'm guessing helped make people think it was the game being hard cause they didn't know it was that vs a skill issue.

Bones first video was cuphead lol
TBH seeing all of this just kinda makes me more convinced that if PS2 had couple of additional passes to iron out the event stacking and improve the tutorial layout a bit people wouldn't have been nearly as baffled by it. Very impressive playthrough, Spiff!

No he got past the dash tutorial and that makes him better than game journalists
@@randomprotag9329 Yeah, make it so perfect gameplay can still have you die early in the nights and people will get confused.
It really shows the level of design when you can do everything perfectly and the game just decides that "Nope this is a failed run from the start".
I think listening and glancing at the multitasking while I myself multitask at work is one of the more meta things I’ve had going on in a while
My brain would've spontaneously combusted if I even tried to do that, so the fact Spiff just casually pumps 20 hours into doing this just amuses me to no end
Spiff I love your view on challenging. Most creators/people in general view RNG as difficult. But from what I can tell, you agree more with the fact it's just tedious.
The hardest part of post shift 2 is surviving the Shaken Baby Syndrome that the movement gives the player
All jokes aside, beating cuphead blind while doing something else is actually impressive, it shows you're good at adapting to difficult games quickly
The fact that I'm more impressed by the side challenge definitely says something about the difficulty of post shift 2
