I remember turning this near the end of the actual game, taking a shower, and when I came out I could still hear spiff talking so I checked and he was STRUGGLING with freddys room

We learned the rat poison the hard way. We had a colony of mice inside an old farm house we used to live in. The farm cats there didn't belong to anybody, but it sucked when one day a caught mouse (it was still alive) was fed to one of the kittens, and then a day later the poor guy was visibly ill and throwing up white foamy stuff. He did not make it. Unfortunately, the poison was the most effective for our issue, but, would rather find an alternative next time. (Glue traps were kind of effective if you knew where to place them inside the house, but some of the mice were too hefty to actually stay caught in them. Watched a big mouse myself unlodge itself from a glue trap. And the snap ones were useless because the mice would just eat the bait and get away scott free.) At least the farm cats kept rats from getting in, as they would so kindly leave their rat catches in front of our door as a gift. But they never seemed to catch any mice.

Native reptile populations are shrinking incredibly fast (basically anywhere in the world) especially because so many people fear them/ kill them on sight. And they are often the pest control to regulate the population of rodents. I know that sometimes you absolutely can't realistically control populations of animals in other ways (without it being incredibly expensive), but if it can be avoided one should definitely try their best to do so. We should always keep in mind how our actions affect animals and nature! We don't need to poison the planet and it's wildlife even faster than we already do ^^

(You can free them with a little bit of vegetable oil, which however also makes the trap basically useless afterwards.) They also stay indoors, so they don't risk trapping an animal outside the home. (Mum thinks they're too cute to just kill and can't bring herself to do that. I agree, they are cute.)

I think the reason all the freddies walk towards the elevator is because the first endo you encounter makes its way to the elevator when it's unaware of your location. Considering the fact that the endo was intended to be the only hostile animatronic in the basement, the freddies adopt its pathing and huddle around the elevator.
