Just subscribed. Driving 100 miles away tomorrow to hopefully pick up my first-ever tractor: A Ford 660. The CL seller claims it runs, and he's putting a new battery in it today to prove it! (I'm taking the Warn winch along anyway!) Since the disclaimer says "what you see is what you get", I'm thinking the hydraulics weren't worthy of mention, and if I can have it working before my wife sees it, that would be better.
Tuned in to your videos to gather a bit of knowledge on the subject. Right off, I see a few clues that I'm in the right place. Your shop is considerably cleaner than my indoor Habitrails. Because of your open spaces, I could see your dirt-bike (Suzuki PE?..) and the 64/5/6 Convertibird stashed in there. I'm pretty sure there are still both of those somewhere in my shop. Maybe having a front-loader will help me excavate far enough inside to see them again.
Anyway, I'm hoping I'll have some experience on the 660 by this time next week, and will be watching for anything new you post on the subject.

Congratulations on your find. I love the old tractors and they’ll run forever. I’ve added another 8n since the video, a ‘53 Jubilee! Thanks for the sub and I’ll do my best to post more. Let me know how you like the 660 and if you have any questions. Have a great week

That was very informative! Thanks! I got a 1959 971 with a tricycle front about 4 months ago, got it running good but hydraulics aren't working, and haven't had time to check out what the issue is due to trucking and also working on a John Deere 620 I got. Been watching videos to at least diagnose the problem, and it will be interesting to dive into it when I get time!

I enjoy working on these old tractors. It’s near to see how simple the mechanics and mechanisms are and effective in them. Learning from the videos is a great thing to save money.
My Dad and Grandfather were truck drivers. Mom always told me not to be a truck driver. That’s a tough job and I couldn’t stay awake I believe

I have a Ford 650 I purchased almost a year ago. Everything was working when I got the tractor the 3 point hitch raised up and down ok and the PTO engages. So I mounted my long blade on the 3 point links in preparations for moving snow and now that it is cold my 3 point hitch does not move at all. I have not had a chance to troubleshoot this issue yet but hopefully your video will get me started on diagnosing the problem.

Using your gantry train is not "cheating", it's smart lol I have a Ford 2000 with some slow lift issues. I'm guessing it's a 50 year old clogged filter but I have to pull the top off like you did and just want to watch as many videos as I can before I do it. And there's not many Ford 2000 hydraulic videos specifically. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I’ve got a follow up video I need to post about replacing the pivot pin. Stay tuned. Good luck on your tractor 🚜

what do you do with a ford NAA (Jubilee) where the 3 pt lifts great but lowers very slowly? Sometimes it lowers quick sometimes not. I just rebuilt the pump which fixed the issue of it losing its prime very time.

I have a Ford 640 that I'm going to have to repair the hydraulics on. Can't afford a professional mechanic. So I'm looking forward to your sequel. I'm not a hydraulics mechanic. My fear is that I'll put mine back together and nothing works.
