I remember seeing Studezilla for the first time. It was parked in the pits, likely at Pomona. It just jumped out to me as one of the coolest looking vehicles of all time. I checked out the body and paint closely, admiring every line and every detail. I've seen it quite a few times since then, and it always amazes me. It was one of those cars that I always questioned in regard to the sanity of actually running such a masterpiece at its full capability. RIP Studezilla...at least we have photos of you. Thanks to Scott for giving us this amazing car to watch and oogle. And good luck to him, of course.
I could see during the burnout that car was going to be a problem. It had one cylinder not firing. Rear cylinder left side. His crew should have cought that.

I’ve known Scott for a very very long time and he’s not kidding when he said the one free thing in life is the amount of work you can put into something! I’d love to hear a play by play of what happened from Scott himself, looks like engine explosion, but with a steel body it played out differently than a funny car blowing the body off.
This video shows the worst and the best of drag racing all at the same time. The worst in what can go wrong, the best in watching dudes drop everything even as the car was still moving and on fire to complete one goal. Getting Scotty out
