  • This mobile home was free to the first person who could move it off of the property that it was parked on, this is the day we moved it to a lot not far from our mobile home park, where it will likely end up.

    Looks like a project in the making. Lotta work ahead. Our small town in Canada doesn't let trailors park here. (Camping trailors excepted but they must be moved once a year minamum.)

      Yeah it’s common inside the city limits to prohibit old mobile homes and even new mobile homes are often restricted. Thanks for the visit.😀

    About 50 years ago, we called them flag cars. My uncle used to move mobile homes, then retired to driving the flag cars. He did that for quite a few years before completely retiring.

    Our mobile home drove 200 miles and then we had to wait until the concrete pad cured before we could put it on the property then tie it down. It is a 1977 Schultz 14x70 all fixed up and livable. By the way what state are you in??

    good example of how to put one on axles. But now that you moved it how are you going about getting it set up, rehabbed, and producing income? Because I have several I need out of my mhp or fix them.

      I have 11 sites more spaces that I can put mobile home, but the spaces are not ready for the homes yet, I’m in the process of learning what type of septic system will accommodate 11 more homes as of right now my current system is maxed out, last year I had to upgrade all the electrical transformers in the mobile home park because they were also maxed out. I do what i can but it takes time for sure, I just try to pick up mobile homes when I find a good deal on them because in my area they don’t become available very often. I’m in the process of renovating one home now but I have some permit issues that I’m trying to straighten out.😀

    How do you find a place to put the mobile home? In my area they go in mobile home parks but the lot fees are almost as high as paying for an apartment. You can't put it on any land that you own. But you can place a modular home on a residential lot. I don't know how to buy a lot for a mobile home and make it work. What do I do?

    • @frugallandlord6974
      @frugallandlord6974  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Yeah you have to abide by your areas codes, I own a mobile home park, bit this is parked in an empty lot waiting to be placed in my park, I have to do them one at a time with permits, why can’t you put it on land that you own?

    • @DL-1
      @DL-1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @frugallandlord6974 zoning won't allow it. The city only allows mobile home in mobile parks. But the county will allow modular homes on a residential property. The county land is outside of the city. And that's on the outskirts. The city does not like mobile homes. I want to get affordable housing that I can own and lower my cost of living. Land is very expensive where I am, and I don't have the money to buy. And if I did have the money, I would have to get the land rezoned for whatever the mobile home zoning is. I'm not experienced. I just called the zoning departments of the cities around me to find out their openness to my goals.

    • @frugallandlord6974
      @frugallandlord6974  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@DL-1 yeah inside city limits they usually don’t allow old mobile home many smaller towns I have seen will allow very new mobile homes, I didn’t think that you would have trouble outside the city limits if you owned the property, I think you ought to be able to do what you please with your own property, especially outside the city limits, I never have to wonder why housing is so expensive.🧐

    • @DL-1
      @DL-1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @frugallandlord6974 I agree with you. It's designed to control the look of the city. It locks people into paying high lot fees, and make it harder to save up for a permanent home. The lot fees are almost as high as a 1 bedroom apartment. But if you're a mobile home park owner, it's great for business. The threshold for average competition is to high. Plus the city may not allow competition to establish another park. Congratulations. I'm not mad at you. I would want to be in that position as an owner also. Just my feelings about it.
