If you're looking to buy the Wireless GO I check around for prices. With the release of the Wireless GO II there may be some retailers lowering the price on the Wireless GO I. Also, there are some really good deals on E-Bay for the Wireless GO I.
No interest in a Wireless GO on my side - but stopping by because I really like your videos ... again very well done! One thing I do not get (and I don't see answered in any of the hundeds of reviews out there): the receiver has a gain setting, but not the transmitter. So if the signal of your lav or VideoMicro or whatever Mic you put on it comes in to hot, then it's ruined before it is transmitted ... okay, I'm a total noob, but: a device not being able to set the gain before the signal is transformed from analog to digital seems to make zero sense?!?
Thank You! and Thanks for watching the video. I see your point but I've never really thought about it. I usually do a few tests to set the gain level before recording but I look at it this way: In a two person set up you would want the person with the camera controlling the levels rather than the person with the transmitter. With the transmitter clipped to the talent or subject it could easily get bumped in movement causing a sharp increase or decrease in level. I know when I'm using the unit with a lav mic I usually stick the transmitter in my pocket where levels could easily get changed by my movement. I'm sure there could be a way to engineer around that but I'm just throwing this out there as to why the design is the way it is. Thanks for the comment!
Great video! I currently own the Rode Wireless GO and think it’s great. I’ve been debating on whether to upgrade to the version 2 so I can add some interview aspects or guests on my food review channel. . The only issue I’ve found is that my Rode Smart Lav+ does not connect to the wireless go unless you have an SC3 cable. . Do you think using a Rode Lav mic with the wireless go would have a noticeable difference in voice recording quality? Thanks . Nice job with the new effects on your editing btw
Thanks! I have the Lavalier GO and the audio quality is noticeably better than using the built in mic so I assume you would get the same with the Smart Lav+ so I think it would be worth it to spend the $15 to get the SC-3. Thanks for watching and thanks for the compliments on the editing. I just switched from iMovie to Final Cut Pro so I'm learning more with each video.
@@IsomPhilips Final Cut Pro is an awesome program. And you can download a 90 day trial off of Apple’s website. . Maybe I’ll pick up an SC3 cable and compare the audio quality. Thanks!
