I really love the arrangements of all her songs in her concerts back in the early days, they were usually slower which could showcase Whitney's golden voice
when I think of the name "Whitney Houston", THIS SONG is the one that comes to mind...this is the song that identifies her to a tee, in my opinion. And she sang the Hell out of this song.
This...is....perfection. I can hardly take it....but yet I soak up EVERY second. Goodness. I wish we had the visual. That would probably send me over the edge, lol. I wouldn’t mind... PS. The lady co-signing so hard? 😂 YES! “That’s right, take it slow...take it slow...so dynamic!” Ok y’all, hold on, I’m starting to hear random shit that is HILARIOUS. Listen to someone scream/yelp @5:54 - 5:55 🤣 It sounds like they were overtaken by joy from the awesomeness they were witnessing, lol. I get it. This performance is epic.....
Ikr... I was born 10 years after this performance.. Im so jealous of people who lived in the 80s and 90s, they truly experienced GREAT music that we will see again today
@@JloveLamar 😂😂😂 where’d you see me at? 👀 lol but yeah, I love music. Particularly when it’s void of the gimmicks and antics. Whitney was the epitome of what it means to be a singer. I can listen to those early recordings all day 😩🥰
@John Moses Boy, I be seeing you EVERYWHERE, like that Fleetwood Mac song 🤣🤣🤣. Like your taste in music! I miss Whitney so much it hurts sometimes. My favorite version of this song would have to be Tokoyo 1989. That opening? Nothing better.
I love Whitney’s song’s so much it make you feel like she was in love with a great man ,but y’all know but God blessed her well I wished in my heart she was not attached to so much evil , envious , money grabbing conniving people and had time to live and enjoy herself it was always word they stressed and drove that women to these limits and so she got tired of their hair but she was never violent albeit spoke her mind sometimes my love for her and her music is forever
She is the only one who can bring tears to my eyes when I hear her voice. The ONLY one. The ONLY one who gives me chills. This is what sets her apart from the others.
You said it right , and I look back at her last performances and I cry because all she did was love people and sang about love and she was treated mean by family, people close to her husband and label the label worst calling for her to die that in it self is very evil he made so much money of her sending her to the ends of the world that’s messy I will love her forever
Oh my God! The whole thing has literally blown me away This was just excellent! NO other words defines it better! I have nothin' but love and respect.. forever shining x
The reactions from the audience are wonderful. I wish that I was old enough to have experienced this and to have been at this concert. I've never been to a concert, and find today's talent lacking and not worth paying for. However, Whitney "The VOICE" Houston would have been well worth paying to see!
how....like...what...omg...I can't even process....help me someone because this is the greatest thing ever!! whitney elizabeth, girl you were an angel sent from heaven and there you rest. Thank you for blessing us all!
For the Greatest LIVE Performance EVER - Whitney Houston!!! Arista should have tons of footage from ALL of her tours that should be made available. I need the entire video from this 1986 concert in San Francisco...
I've heard just about every live version of You Give Good Love there is to find and for me this one stands out above all the rest, the way it flows is just perfection. Particularly the 'never too much' around 1.25, brings tears to me eyes.
vince pacia I would say this is a better version yes, Carson is excellent and a very polished performance but her voice is fuller and richer here in my opinion, and the build up around the 4 minute mark is absolutely amazing - she had more room to play with the song here as well cos she was in concert, really in her zone.
Lots of singers have the X factor but Whitney had ... magic... a superhuman quality ... we hear it in her voice... then you look to see who’s making that beautiful sound... ooops!!! ....... in love already!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏💕💕💕💕🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥰😪👑👑👑💋
Wow! Whitney's was a vocal beast & genius! She aimed for the heart&soul with relentless precision& wouldn't let up until everyone felt that,"Good Love!"😉
i loved how they broke down the background vocals at the end.....Whitney was big on those harmonies hunny! LOVE her live versions of this song and Saving All My Love for You.
How many of y'all think she's the greatest ever? I think you have to put Patti in the conversation, as well as Aretha, Gladys, and Stephanie, but after hearing this, I might have to put her on top!!!!
Its amazing to think her genius was only starting to blossom. both her and Rickey minor (her band director ) would soon grow such in tune with each other as artists as the years passed. Probably the only person other than cissy who knew that voice from top to bottom.
JUST LOOOVVVVEEEEE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ If the most truthful soul could speak, that‘s what you would hear 💖💖 (Like the whole concert in general 😍) Forever Rest In Peace Whitney! Someday we‘ll see US all again ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Until then... ...Give Good Love 💕
@@butterflyszn2342 I believe that you are right. Her range was higher in the 80s and she was a spinto. Around her third album, it matured. I think around 95 is when she became a mezzo soprano
This is American pop vocalizing, this isn’t opera. Those terms wouldn’t apply. Go onto a Leontyne Price video or Maria Callas if you want to draw those types of conclusions.
Whitney Houston gave everything she had. And more. She reached the mountain top. Decent was inevitable. No one will ever touch her. ❤
This performance is magic. Her voice was never in better form.
I'm in tears , I'm amazed, this icredible crystal clear, tone, head voice never be forgotten.
