Felt this as a single mom. My husband left us to go drink he's been gone for months I beg and cry for him to come back but he never does. 😔 felt this song in my soul
My mum was a high functioning but dire alcoholic. Her drunken abuse and violence toward me as a child and adolescent saw Community Services get involved. I understand now that she was self medicating her pain and that underneath she had a depressive mental illness. I sensed her deep seeded pain as a small child and on the inside I felt sorry for her as she'd slam my head into the wall, grab me by the hair so I couldn't move my head as she close-fist punched me in the face, smashed an empty glass bottle over my head, the lot. I guess I'm still stuffed up because of it even though she's been dead 10 years but I never really blamed her for it either.
