TI-84 Commands: Fractions & decimals, lcm, gcd, remainder (modulo)

In this video, Dr T demonstrates commands on TI series calculators which will help with fractions & decimals. The calculator will convert between fractions and decimals, allow entry of decimals or fractions, return answers in either form, convert improper fractions to mixed numbers. The concepts are related to least common multiple, greatest common factor, and remainder (modulo function). The lowest common denominator is the lowest common multiple of denominators. If the greatest common factor of several denominators is 1, and if the highest number is a multiple of all the other numbers, then that highest number is the least common multiple of those denominators, which is the lowest common denominator. If a number is a multiple or factor of another, then the remainder when the smaller is divided into the larger is zero, which is what the modulo function tells us. TI calculators will perform all these operations quickly without errors, which is helpful.
