- If you are in the market for a budget overland fridge these are both really great options. Setpower RV45D is a Dual zone fridge that can be either a fridge and freezer or just a fridge even just a freezer. The RV45S is a single zone that can function as either a fridge or a freezer. Nice! I really love this fridge. I really don’t have any complaints about it. Maybe next year I’ll get the insulated cover but I’m fine without it now.
Wow, that ability to change the side it opens is so nice. I really want my RV45S to open the other way haha.
Yeah for what I need the fridge for the RV45S works fine but it is really nice to be able to switch sides down the road if I want.

Bang on with the timely review as I've been looking at a couple different fridge/freezers.
Since you have the RV45D readily available, what is the external width at the base of the RV45D? I have the Goose Gear slide that will accommodate a unit up to 16" (W). It's going to be close I know that :)
Let me get you the exact measurements tomorrow. It tapers down at the bottom slightly so the measurements they have on their website are exactly accurate for the base. Might be about a 1/4 inch more narrow on each side.
The RV45D is the Jeep of coolers, with that removable door.
If only the 4Runners had that.
I mean I guess you can technically remove any door if you try hard enough.

Got the RV45D on cyber Monday at 20% off. My first cool down set for 0 and 38 zones took just over an hour to get the freezer to temp (on max, room temp 68).
I found an advanced menu by holding the + and - for 3 seconds. It show setting labels f1 f2 and f3 for either zone. I hope I did not change the default values (f1 = -6). Anyone what these are for? Maybe calibration for sensors?

How well does the dual zone work? And can you have either side be the freezer?
It’s my understanding that either it’s all a freezer or the basket side is the freezer but I don’t believe you can make the other side a freezer. I’ll double check on my lunch break today though.
You can make either side a freezer or fridge. Or, you make the whole thing a freezer or a fridge, when you pull out the divider wall the system automatically detects that its no longer there and the control panel will only display one temperature for the whole space. I just bought the 45D and will be using the whole thing strictly for a freezer in our home though. We can also load it into the SUV and plug it into our 500w portable battery pack and take it with us on long road trips which is why we didn't buy a full size chest freezer.
We need more freezer room and it will go under the kitchen table where there is receptacle as one side of our table is up against the wall. Van kookz YT channel reviewed it, that is how I know you can use either side as a freezer or fridge.
You should do a test to see which one keeps cooler longer not running man!!!!
Unfortunately I have limited space in my shed for all my already abundant camping gear so I had to get rid of the RV45S.

How do you connect the RV45D to solar power?
What’s your current solar set up? What’s the connector it uses?
How quiet does it run?
It’s pretty quiet. I slept in the back of my 4Runner once right beside it and I slept all night. Like you’ll for sure hear it but it’s not remotely loud.
What fridge slide out are you going to use?
I can’t find it on their site but I told peak to peak (who is the company that made my drawers) the fridge dimensions and they ordered a slide for me at that size. That being said I haven’t had a chance to see it yet because of the supply chain. The slide I have now fits the fridge perfect but it’s too noisy for my taste. I’ll give you the link and you can take those measurements and find a better one than my amazon special slide.

Are you using slider from setpower? If it is hows the fitment?
The one I have in this video fits well but it’s a bit noisy. I ended up yoloing and buying a pretty expensive one because it’s silent. I did add a little furniture felt stop thing to make it completely silent. I’ll like both below.

The $415 RV45s was only $300 a month ago? Incredible! or as some might say...a dishonest review...
Yeah it was a lot lower and with my discount it was like another $60 off of that.
