One change to the rules I would advise: when two forces of unequal strength fight, roll 2 dice instead of one. Use the higher result if it is a stronger force striking a weaker, and the lower if its the other way around.
i know this is an oldie of yours but I just picked the rules and added the solo cards recommended at the back of the book adds some chaos when you get confused and can not move a unit
I think the Dark Ages rules would work equally well for fantasy. They are less heavy on the cavalry and more focusses on the heavy infantry. The large and limited bases needed for each army open up the possibilities of little dioramas. So, for example, your heavy infantry could be six big trolls and your light infantry a big mob of gobbos. It would have the same feel as the historical with a more fantastic flavor to it.
keep telling myself stick with +-28mm. darn. getting tempted to go small. only thing keep me away is that I can't paint 15 mm worth a damn. how am I going to paint 6 mm in any decent way?
Two inches by three inches each. The wood warped a bit when I glued on the sand for basing, so these are the last units I've ever based on home-made bases. Now it's all pre-cut Litkos or metal washers for me!
I love seeing a full army on display in formation. Even in tiny scale like that it’s still impressive.
So cool to actually watch somebody play this rather than talk about it.
Great looking game. I'm working on a 2mm fantasy project for one hour rules. Thanks for posting.

I made a video on this same scenario but using WW2 rules. Your instruction and demo is much better.
I just got these rules, and was also thinking of doing fantasy with them. Thanks for the battle report!

If you can paint lines and dots at 28mm, you can paint 6mm. That's all you need, lines and dots.
I don't know if I like all the moral ambiguity in this scenario. How am I supposed to know who to root for? 😉
Nice video, I love OHW along with all of Neil’s books. What size bases did you use for those great 6mm miniatures?

Can we get some close up stills of those units??
Of course. warinabox.blogspot.com/2015/08/medieval-knights-good-guys.html?m=0
