It's certainly fun but it's straight up a nerf to blight. The blightreach buff is genuinely pointless, by the time you have looted your blight at best you have 20 seconds left on it and then the whole area is cleared because you did a blight encounter there, it's also giving you alot of garbage tier blighted maps. The towers do throw some bubble gum your way but that's nothing on extractors, i'd swap back in a heartbeat.

The takeaway i got from this is "waste 5 minutes clicking towers for a little gold and a few scarabs".. meh. But to be fair.. I've never really cared for blight as you can get better rewards and boxes from legion among others stategies without waiting and in some cases simply one shot the entire legion with vaal ice nova and such. Boxes, legion, and beasts have all been far more rewarding and seem to drop higher tier currencies if invested in the Atlas for them with far less time involved. Just my two cents. Whats cool about POE is there are so many ways to enjoy the game.
This league, with the currency market, i think blight is more ok than before, selling all the bubblegum currency, and since blight mechanic also drops tons of gold, u wont run out unless you are interacting with the town very often and havent fully upgrade everything. Previously it is very tedious and hard to sell all the bubblegum currencies, since you have to go back to hideout, if you are farming blight / blighted maps and stack up a lot of those bubblegum currencies and selling it while still farming, 6 portal is not enough (unless you use tft to bulk sell whole tab)

Disregarding all other drops (currency and gold mainly), the fact that I've managed to get 2 sanctum tome drops from the tower salvage specifically is a bit of an outlier (2/3 tomes have come from salvaged towers)
Turns out i wasnt sustaining maps because i had Fungal Horizons on. I have like 100 blight maps but no normal ones to complete my atlas. next time i should learn to actually read things.
@Travic_ I think that 60 seconds is a lie then. I bought a second blight tab just because I was sick of going to grab a non atlas completed map and it was just 3 blight maps overflow from first tab. I swear after doing the encounter, almost all maps would be blighted that drop. I finally took it off to complete atlas and it felt worlds different. I guess I could have been doing the rest of the map in 60 seconds but wow it's so many.

I second this question, I usually use the chilling tower stun and meteor towers leave fire on the ground but I think I'm going to drop the meteor tower annoint and just use the empowering towers have increased range annoint since I want more tower variety now and don't want to have to make meteor towers
Salvaging doesn't seem to be that good by itself, it really starts to shine in an open map with Blight Scarab of the Blightheart. It makes it possible to actually get the full 18 towers. Even at 14 or so that has been my max so far the loot from salvage was massive.

Dont like this at all, dont have to run blight for more random stuff. i want ez to sell oils. and some guy dropping a puzzle box gives me nothing compared to regular income i had with extractors and gold oils. feels like a big nerf for blights to me. and that blight map buff node is stupid too, because by the time you are done looting your chests, its mostly run out. and we lose 2 tiers of oil, from tree and scarab.

Ok it looks like you're almost there, but i'll give you the REAL secret about salvaging towers. GOLDS. Those are some bitcoin gold farm materials, i'm not kidding. Here's what you wanna do : get as much as quantity on your map, because golds scale with quant, so you'll get mouting modifiers, chiseled perfecting, invasive adversary, then you get eater of world (or exarch, chose one) and get as much quant altar as you can handle. You can add ritual, stronboxes, and some shrines in your atlas tree, to get more monsters that drop golds in your maps, get ambush in the map device, and then you clear the map and get quant altars before doing the blight encounter and min-max templar ingenuity. With this strat, with garbage alch and go (and chiseled) maps, i get between 15 to 30k golds per map. I guess if you get some 8 mod corrupted maps, and if you are doing some partyplay, you could get more than 100k per map. enjoy you settlers profit.
Interesting find, but at the end of the day I think you would proabably make more money just do blight maps, but if you could pair this with another mechnaic it could be good. idk.

Started doing this today and just got a Rakiata's Greatsword out of Salvaged Hoard on a non-juiced T16 map. Owe it to you haha THIS WORKS!

I tried it and couldn’t even find the chests. I was wondering if they put the loot in the blight maps or required you to do the salvage thing for loot
You can only do it in regular maps that have blight in them this does not work in blighted maps

I had meteor towers burn but changing it to something like empowering tower is probably really strong.

Chill level 3 + stun level 3 + empower level 3, next to eachother on that lane they'll never move

It would give more mobs and more gold. I dont think it will scale the reward from blight though but it pairs nicely with ALL THE MOBS

Works in blighted encounters only.
Skills in the Atlas tree affect all non-unique maps on the Atlas, as well as Vaal Temple Map and Shaper Guardian maps
sadly most of the blighted nodes dont effect blighted maps
blighted/blight ravaged maps are completely different case, atlas in general does not work with them.
