these FAS models sound the best to me of all their sims, probably the most I'm excited about - amp sims mostly trying to simulate existing amps instead of just trying to make something new..Saying that I love the Strymon Iridium. @leon, do you have a video on you guitar tuning method? Most demos I see, guitars are so out of tune, yours is nicely in tune
Hi. The website says these presets are on firmware 21, but it's been 4 years, and firmware 24.05 is out. Is this preset pack still relevant? Or will I buy it and have to tweak everything?
thank you, if you could look it up(the specific IR name), I'd be super grateful. I like those off-axis mid-heavy sounds and have a problem finding them. I have the modern pack that features both marshall g12 and matchless
Leon I know you are all in to newer metal tones with you drop tune guitar but could you do the videos of older type of amps with normal tuned guitars that would be more in favor of people using those amps? I meen someone using a Plexi would probably want to jam and compare the tones to some Zeppeling and classic rock riffs than newer metal riffs :) I love your playing don't get me wrong.
My friend Miles was over and he is the X guitar player of rings of Saturn and he overheard me listening to one of your videos and he was like damn that was a sick lick this guys really good wow lol and I was like yeah he actually is I never realize that lmao
It's spot on. If you're not used to playing through a mic'd amp in a studio environment it might be weird but I've done several blind tests with a real amp mic'd and can't tell. I like both approaches; while it has lots of great amp models, it doesn't have my amps with all their idiosyncracies.
Leon Todd Thats cool! I saw a live rig video of metallica and they are using axe-fx, as it is much more reliable during touring than tube amps. I think one day tube amps just can extinct. If they would not invent load box my engl fireball 60 would just stand in corner as I don't play in a band right now and for home playing it is load. It plays ok in low volumes but I cant use master volume even at level 2 :/.
They have their own sound for sure. Their is no replacement for a real tube amp. This modeling stuff is ok. But man it is modeling or better yet a cover song version of the real deal. It reminds me of when auto tune started. Kind of close. But not right. Anyway best to ya!
Oh for sure man for sure, I mean if it gets some one playing then 100% yes. I usually use an old solid state. But as far as tone, there is just no replacement for the glass filled tube amps. Im just saying how they sound man, thats all. And not that this is modeler is crap by any stretch. Thanks for the reply, your a great player!
If I owned this piece of gear (and I will), my biggest problem would be trying to narrow down which tone to use when playing out!
The struggle is real!

Love these videos you're putting out. So informative. Keep up the great work!
The “FAS Crunch” at 16:58 is still the FAS Brown.

also, do a video where you set up your ax3 with a midi pedalboard for you live gigs
Leon, has anyone told you ... your awesome... Greetings from India. You are a TONE GURU.
Thanks so much mate, that means a lot. I just love playing and sharing :)
Jeezus -- 5/30/21, playing with the new fractal presets and number 36 is an FAS, I was thinking .. WHAT IS THAT? .. then found this video. Me likey!
first. great job. i am slowly learning to dial in my fx3 through your videos.
Threw in some sneaky Marigold in there eh?
A540 noticed that aswell
You guys are sharp. What a beast of a riff.
Which York cabs are you using?
I really liked wreck amp and ir. Is it redwirez greenbacks?
I think it's either the Redwirez greens or H30 IR. Great combo.

How does AxeFX compare to Kemper?

When I get around to the vintage models I'll definitely try use era appropriate guitars :)

That's a huge compliment, Rings are an insane band!
Very nice. Does is it feel the same as playing through real amp? Do you prefer using axe fx iii or amp +loadbox?

Fractal had a load box out and apparently there's a load box/IR loader/fx all in one coming at some point too.
I've noticed & I'll bet your wife has commented about your non stop "smile" your wearing since you got the axefx III
Leon can Dj0nt

Whatever makes you inspired to play guitar and make music is valid IMO. Whether it's a tube head, modeller or $100 SS combo if you dig it, use it.
