  • @fordyford

    Good install vid. I think the halogen bulb gives out better light for driving visibility but the LED's always look nicer being a much crisper white. I am still having issues finding a good adjustment height for my Autobeam low beams.

    • @CarRambles
      @CarRambles  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The problem with recording light videos is the camera focuses on the intese hot spot of the light rather than the wash, so with the halogen due to it being dimmer the camera picks it up a bit more. The led is so bright it focuses on the beam pattern more than how wide and high the light is actually projecting aha. This was a hard one to film due to the amount of light in a night time environment

      @@CarRambles good explaination! I'm glad you could mention what the camera was and wasn't picking up 👍.
      @jake I'm sure once I find the sweet spot to set it my low beams will be great but am finding the same, it's intensely bright 5m in the front of the car which isn't enough or the beams is too high to be safe for me to see far enough up the road.

    will they pass an mot as if not you have spliced the original wire which im not a fan of tbh

    • @CarRambles
      @CarRambles  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no reason they wouldn't pass an MOT. You can take the spade connector out off the splice / clamp and install originals if you ever needed to :)
      For full beams as long as they work and they definitely do you're all good to go

    • @James-ns6jm
      @James-ns6jm 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a splice with spade connectors. It it does it cut the plastic coating to make contact with the metal wire. You can just take off the spade connector and wrap some electrical tape around the wire and go back to standard no problems and they will pass the MOT.

    Hey man, Ive bought and fitted both dipped and full beam but my full beam seems to really suck, its like it lights up the sides of my car instead of the front. Took me about 2 hours to get them in but something just doesn't seem right. Any advice? much appreciated.

    • @Wtf_29
      @Wtf_29 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same issue. Either it’s just not focused properly but I never got the same depth of light as I did from the halogen. I’m beginning to think the length of the actual led stem that’s inside the housing is longer and therefore not shining where the original bulb is, hence the worse off performance. I’ve sent it back as it’s just not up to the standard. Nice look but effectively my low beams lit up the road more than these ever did

    • @CarRambles

      The beauty of an led is how intense and clear the light itself is (defined?) So I like to use these down country lanes and such just because it works so well with lighting up the hedges and corners.
      Definitely better, I haven't run the performance Autobeam hid kit (maybe one day?) So couldn't speak for your exact setup. Hids are definitely nice though, just have always been a full beam man on a dark country road. Makes me feel more safe 🤷‍♂️

    Good video. Just fitted the new autobeam H1 mainbeam mini LEDs to my ST mk8 but not impressed. The mounting sleeve provided does not hold the bulbs firmly in place so they are free to rotate and over time the sleeve and bulb can work free of the mounting. Autobeam dropped the ball on this, avoid. Been impressed with the fogs and indicator bulbs up to this point, but gone to CEUK for their new dipped LEDs than risk another poor fitment.
