My first Platoon Sergeant was one of the Rangers who took part in this operation. SFC Eidson, believe he was Sgt at the time and a team leader. He could still run circles around most of us younger guys and was basically a walking ranger handbook. Finest NCO I’ve ever had the privilege of serving under.
Ive been a member for years always loved yer content but these last few are incredible. There is nobody else creating content this quality. the fundraising and the shout out to lives lost my girl started laughing at me cause i got emotional watching it LoL.

They dropped all their Spetznaz troops miles behind enemy lines, then failed to actually push in their main force, resulting in the encirclement and subsequent destruction of Russian forces at Hostomel. To blow up their supply line, there has to be a supply line, and given that the main Russian force never got far enough to establish one, I think it's safe to say you're full of it.
@@brandonmullins4015 nearly right, they took the airport from weak units after quite the struggle, lost a heli, then ukrainian reinforcements arrived and destroyed the spetsnaz troops then you have issue of logistics, with the famous miles long convoy, which is an easy target for anyone with even a small brain, no US special forces needed

Excellent stuff. Gotta love a good airfield seizure. Also I won't lie, at first I had a small "Um actually... " issue with this about the camouflage (and honestly, a lot of the gear) y'all are using if this is supposed to be an accurate recreation of Operation Rhino back in 2001 (they didn't have ACUs at that time, wouldn't have been using MOD 1s and Mk18s, etc). But then I remembered a video Rimmy did about accuracy in fun-ops and about the importance of form over function (if you need a bolt action for your teams, don't sweat if you can't find the exactly correct model of Mosin you'd need, etc.).
That gotdamn vanilla gun swap! It's infuriating but every mod to swap faster just ruins the game experience. So might as well keep the slow ass swap like "Shit! Gun jammed! & If you haven't shot me yet, here! Hold my beer. &if you haven't shot me yet, I gotta let the dogs out &, if you haven't shot me yet, start the charcoal grill. Then, if you haven't shot me yet, I'll carefully put my rifle over my shoulder, & if you still haven't shot me yet, I'll pull my pistol & if you haven't shot me yet, hopefully shoot you 15 times & maybe you'll fall, maybe you don't. Who cares? It was in your dickal region! I don't have no receipt. Fuck you."

Firing accurately They don't carry enough ammo to sit behind cover and exchange fire with the enemy. They are much faster than this. Back in the 80's I watched them fly into Savannah on little birds, land, rescue a senator playing hostage and flew him out. Total time on the ground less than five minutes. pitch black night no lights. More impressive than watching a guy in a business suit land in a parachute, disconnect, walk up to a target, lift up a briefcase and fire a hidden 9mm sub gun from inside the case. Then walking off like a businessman. That wasn't the rangers though. I got more but now that I'm an old man I just like getting on here and watching the game sometimes. Trading war stories with other old men around a backyard fire pit is more my game these days. Rangers Lead the Way.

Negative. The mission that '12 Strong' was based on was a Special Forces mission prior to this mission and took place in the Northern part of the country. That was a Green Beret ODA (595) and the operation was named Task Force Dagger in support of a CIA "Jawbreaker" team.

Kandahar came after mainly due to it's significance to the Taliban. Kandahar is the Taliban's spiritual center and its always been much more heavily occupied/defended by them. Up North was a Green Beret specialty; the scalpel. Down South needed a sledge hammer and that's what Rangers do best.
