See if the game has talented writers they could have used the conflict between those two characters to highlight the hypocrisy of how taash is treating the necromancer. Good writing would have taash realize that they are treating emmrich just like their mom (and whoever else) treated them and then realize how easy it is to judge things based purely off feelings and never taking the time to analyze those feelings and whatever is evoking them. Good writing would have taash take time to reflect and then develop empathy for emmrich and apologize because they realized that no one will respect them or their identity if they refuse to give that same respect to others. This exchange between them could have been a character growth moment and could be part of an arch were taash goes from being a petulant teenager who demands respect while shitting on anything anyone else who they feel like, to a mature respectful adult who treats others with a level of empathy and respect that their experience of struggling with their identity afforded them. Seeing characters grow and learn is a cornerstone to good story telling and makes you care about the characters so you care about the decisions you make and the world at large. When writers self insert at such a strong level not only is it ridiculously obvious, but it most likely means the character will be a Mary Sue and the character will never have any character growth because they are already at the pinnacle of character. In fact their character is frequently used to teach others how to be as amazing as they are and the game turns into a circle jerk all centered around this self insert.

See if the game has talented writers they could have used the conflict between those two characters to highlight the hypocrisy of how taash is treating the necromancer. Good writing would have taash realize that they are treating emmrich just like their mom (and whoever else) treated them and then realize how easy it is to judge things based purely off feelings and never taking the time to analyze those feelings and whatever is evoking them. Good writing would have taash take time to reflect and then develop empathy for emmrich and apologize because they realized that no one will respect them or their identity if they refuse to give that same respect to others. This exchange between them could have been a character growth moment and could be part of an arch were taash goes from being a petulant teenager who demands respect while shitting on anything anyone else who they feel like, to a mature respectful adult who treats others with a level of empathy and respect that their experience of struggling with their identity afforded them. Seeing characters grow and learn is a cornerstone to good story telling and makes you care about the characters so you care about the decisions you make and the world at large. When writers self insert at such a strong level not only is it ridiculously obvious, but it most likely means the character will be a Mary Sue and the character will never have any character growth because they are already at the pinnacle of character. In fact their character is frequently used to teach others how to be as amazing as they are and the game turns into a circle jerk all centered around this self insert.
The pendulum had to swing back eventually. Imagine campaigning on a pro-choice ticket and just assuming you hand the latino vote in the bag. That, boys and girls, is being out of touch with your audience.
