Exactly tutorial I've been looking for. Thank you very helpful
Thank you so much for quick, clear instruction and no annoying music! I dont have a workshop, however, so i hope there is a simpler way..
Thank you so much we made our own porch metal porch front and back thata 76' long I have a 12 inch over hang on my tin from my purlin and I was wondering how to attach gutters for rain collection. Your video was just what I needed thank you!
We have had the up since July now, Ben through days of rain and they are holding strong. Glad was able to pass on some info.
This is a great idea. I just put a metal roof on my house and I wanted to have a gutter system. This was just what I needed.
It overall was pretty easy with just the 2 of us! Hope it works well for you-
Nice job. Thanks for sharing. Just what I’m needing for my metal roof.
Great information I did exactly what you did with your help thank you so much mj alpine or
@@alpinecountryclub6666 good to hear it worked for you! Ours are still working great.
Awesome! We have the same type metal roof setup. We'll do the same gutter setup. Thanks for the video!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! Glad we got them up before the heat of summer and before monsoon season!
What's that little tool he's using, is it like a rivet tool?
@@ArturoGarzaID yes a pop rivet tool
A lot of work! Well done!
Great info and video! Thanks
Great idea
Thank you, I needed that!
Thank you so much for this! This is the solution for my home.
Glad it helped!
Great video, i need to solve something for a 10" overhang and this is exactly what i was looking for, the attachment to the sheet metal panel and a very nice brace solution, great!
Thanks, almost a yr now and they have been great!
For anybody watching this wanting to do this, do not intentionally put holes in the bottom of your gutter. There are always better options. It will always eventually leak. It will always catch and hold up leaves and debris. This isn’t a bad video but there are definitely some things that were done wrong and some things that were done wrong. You can always call a local professional for a free estimate. I’d rather pay just a little extra and have it done professionally in one day than stretched out over multiple weekends.
Thank you for the comment. I agree some things pay extra as diying takes more time and trials and errors. This project has worked out for us so far. We don't have much in the way of trees out by our barn so when we checked the gutters there wasn't anything in them so lucky that way.
Thanks for sharing
Looks great
Thanks!
Nice job !
Thanks!!
Love horse people!
You should never put a screw through the bottom of your gutters. Now you have leaks and the screws will now catch everything.
Rubber washers
Great idea perfect
this is awesome! where did you get the hangers and straps?
Hangers from home depot and the straps were also home depot but the were improvised not sold in the gutter area we just happened to find them in a different area.
INSANE PRICES home depot is unreal.
Those braces looked like they would sag when the gutter is full, how has it been performing?
They have been great! We put them up last July and have seen some serious rains. No sagging or turning!
@@amandageyerazagent awesome! Thanks for the update!
definitely not like the pro would do it. its a 4 hour job, 2 weekends is a lot of time
pro cost with 5' seamless gutters aluminum which is 10 times better $1800 for 180'
I know we aren't a pro at this and it could have been done better and quicker. Living on a Ranchette property it's give and take what you hire out. The 30x40 RV, Horse Trailer garage/cover is getting hired out. Gutters seemed like an item we could take on.
Heading into Monsoon season now so will know soon if we regret doing this one on our own. Thanks for the comment!
But it's not a standard install, the homeowner was able to improvise because of the longer overhang that would make a standard gutter install turn into a customer one. Great video!
she never said how much she worked each weekend. Could have been 2 hours each day ot 8
Oh my, you don’t want screws on the bottom.
Why is that?
@@pepekaliwete risk leaks over time. It’s best not to put screws on the bottom. Not professionally anyhow. Miter strips (corners) will get 2 maybe 3 screws on each side, but never on the bottom.
@@The_SKWRL ok, I just looked up miter strips. I see what you're saying. I've not done gutter work before but planning to install about 80 feet here shortly. Thanks for the tip.
@@The_SKWRL Screws have to be put in the bottom of strip miters. I put 2 in the face, 2 in the front on the bottom, 2 in the back on the bottom, and then 2 in the back from the inside. Everything gets sealed with gutter sealant. Theoretically you can put screws wherever you want so long as they get covered with sealant on the inside of the gutter. I own a seamless gutter business and have never had a screw hole leak that was sealed. Most of the time it's the actual joint or seam that may start to leak on a corner or endcap and never the screw holes. Leaks may show up in the first spring after the installation due to thermal expansion during and after winter. The sealant is supposed to stretch with the material's expansion and contraction but sometimes it can tear. Easiest way to avoid this is to just use a very generous amount of sealant.
@@wharfrat8637 I just stay away from putting screws on the bottom. Eliminates that risk. If the miter was done correctly, you don’t need that many screws.
Wow! What a waste of time. Cheap products and terrible advice
Ok, been almost a yr now and working great! No stall flooding and we have gone through some serious rains.
but yet you found the time to write a comment on a tutorial you disagree with. So you are wasting your time since you arent going to use her products or advice.
