Purple Rain, where Prince would lure you to an overly complicated and unpredictable relationship while Morris would push you into his harem. Poor Apollonia.
0:48 I know that was a diss from Jerome but it's actually kind of sweet how he helps The Kid into his coat and rubs his cheeks and lip. Like an older brother with a little brother.
Morris and Jerome were funny as hell in this. I often wondered if Vanity hadn't had backed out, how the movie would have been. Whereas Vanity was a better singer and performer, Apollonia was a better actress.
Summer of 84, Fall into the Winter probably seen Purple Rain 20+ X especially when they had it playing at the Midnight Movies @ Studio 28 GR MI. Fun Times...then ya gotta grow up!😢😅
(Walks past doorway) "how's the family?" 😂😂😂😂 I used to do that in school if a door was open and I still do it at work when I walk past someone's office or partitioning 😂😂😂
They're even more of piss goblins in the "sequel" Graffiti Bridge. In fact aside from the soundtrack, Morris and Jerome are the only things making Graffiti Bridge even barely watchable.
The irony of Purple Rain the movie is in real life, and it has been well documented, that it was actually Prince who was the as*hole towards Morris Day And The Time!
'Purple Rain' made Morris, Jerome & The Time seem corny, like they were desperate for validation and trying too hard. They should have been written as cooler, relaxed and more genuinely menacing, and it would only have helped the credibility of the film.
It's call comic relief, they are villains on the film as much as Cris Tucker is a villain on the Fifth Element, they are the balance between Dramatic and fun. If you put them as serious characters they will crash with Prince's character personality, BUT I disagree with your "corny" comment, Morris, Jerome & The Time are as badass Punks in the film, they are the only ones daring to say everything we all think about Prince's character, and that makes the story line even more interesting, because it shows why Prince's concept was challenging for the audience (and ahead of its time), even in the exotic Rock scene Prince was seen as weird, bizarre and off the charts, so when he finally sung Purple Rain, his triumph is even more glorious. If you have Morris and Jerome as "cooler, relaxed and more genuinely menacing" Prince's triumph would have showed them as bitter, envious and pathetic humans. In the movie Morris, Jerome & The Time basically represent a cartoon of everything Prince had to confront to became a superstar, still Prince have enough respect for their craft that he made them likeable. I think the only genuinely thing missing in the film is The Time (or The Revolution) smoking weed, it's a Rock and Roll film with no drugs!!!! and it got away with it...brilliantly.
In every movie, you gotta have a bad guy so in this movie it had to be Morris Day. He is one of the coolest people I ever met in my life and he is the epitome of the word COOL 😎 🫡
Morris Day looking like a evil Richard Pryor.
They actually did a movie together.
A sexier evil Richard Pryor. 😊
Both sagittarius😂
@SickMuse666 I always felt like Steve Harvey stole Morris and Richards personalities and Created his act.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why we never had a Adventures of Morris Day and Jerome is beyond me. I could watch those two all day.
Frfr! 😂
We did. They were white! You might know them as Jay and Silent Bob
@@deeerv4905lmao that is nowhere near the same thing 🤣
I wish morris was in hood movies as the “player” on the corner 😂
I don't understand how Jerome and Morris stopped doing movies, they were hilarious. Prince be blocking them when he was still here
Dusty blocked Flair 🤷♂️ in life there's always gonna be baller blocking.
They did a movie on TH-cam called Boys Klub 😎
Morris and Jerome saved Purple Rain from flopping because The Kid was looking real invisible whenever he was onscreen.
Damn. They were naturals
Under the Cherry Moon was supposed to be Morris and Jerome
they both did such a great job for having no experience prior to this. well done to everybody!
Purple Rain, where Prince would lure you to an overly complicated and unpredictable relationship while Morris would push you into his harem. Poor Apollonia.
#real lol
Morris vacuums. That makes him a little less villainous imo.
I see the time less as villains and more as friendly competition. Like kids in a school play going for the lead
😂😂😂😂
Didnt this video show him throw a gal into a dumpster?
In his defense: she *was* triflin'@@deadheadkid19
Morris acting is hilarious, he could have fit in the Grease movie, lol
0:48 I know that was a diss from Jerome but it's actually kind of sweet how he helps The Kid into his coat and rubs his cheeks and lip. Like an older brother with a little brother.
Totally agree. One of my favorite moments between the two of them
Or like Fred Gwynne & Bob Hoskins in the movie The Cotton Club.
Those 2 are freakin awesome in this film.
Fun fact: Moments before filming of Purple Rain started, Morris Day was supposedly kicked out of the Acting Classes for “clowning around”.
He mentioned that to David Letterman.
Love that movie! Morris is just to funny 🤣🤣🤣
Morris and Jerome were funny as hell in this.
I often wondered if Vanity hadn't had backed out, how the movie would have been. Whereas Vanity was a better singer and performer, Apollonia was a better actress.
Appolonia, was great, but to me, Vanity was equally amazing in The Last Dragon, and Action Jackson. Naw, I prefer Vanity. Voice and acting.✌🏽🎶🥰
Vanity was a decent actress.
I just watched her in a film called never too young to die.
Jerome shaking his head is my favorite part.
Summer of 84, Fall into the Winter probably seen Purple Rain 20+ X especially when they had it playing at the Midnight Movies @ Studio 28 GR MI. Fun Times...then ya gotta grow up!😢😅
Morris DAY and Jerome made that movie 🎬 worth watching 👀. 😂😂

The rush hour scene with Chris Tucker u & me reminds me of the password scene from Morris & Jerome every time
Which of course is a takeoff of Abbott and Costello
Definitely should have had there OWN buddy movie.
A Pimp Name Slick Backs father, and Money Mikes uncle..
Imagine if they made a cartoon with these two today. It would be amazing!
The best years ❤️ ♥️

Lmao this is perfect.

I say some of the music is the best parts of Graffiti Bridge
I actually loved Graffiti Bridge and From Under the Cherry Moon both. They’re not purple rain but I love both
Was Minneapolis night life really like this in the 80s?

No offense to Prince, but Morris Day and Jerome Benton stole the movie right out from under it's megastar lead.
Lmao he really did. I was actually a fan of The Time first before Prince because of it 🤣

Sorry. He didn't improve on the skit of Abbott and Costello. Don't even try.

True. I still love them tho
😂😂😂😂Creditable!!! They were and are incredible in this movie!
the Time were not a menacing band at all
They provide comic relief. They’re great!
